Scheduling types in PM order

Dear All,
Can Anybody explain different types of Scheduling types which are used in sap pm orders? And what are its affects on the order?
1) Forwards
2)Backwards
3)only capacity requirements
4)current date
5)Forwards in time
6)Backward in time.
Regards,
Bhanu

Hi,
Forward scheduling
When you set this indicator, the system schedules:
Orders forwards,  based on the basic start date
Collective orders forwards, based on the specified outline start date
Networks forwards, based on the specified basic start date, and then backwards, based on the scheduled finish date or on the specified basic finish date
Backward scheduling
If you set this indicator the system schedules
orders backwards starting from the basic finish date
collective orders backwards starting from the framework finish date,
networks backwards starting from the specified basic finish date, then forwards starting from the scheduled start date or the basic start date specified.
Only calculate capacity requirements
Specifies that the system only calculates capacity requirements.
Use
In production orders, the system calculates the scheduled start and finish of the order by deducting the float before and after production from the basic order dates (order start and order finish). The calculated dates are written into all operations in the order.
In networks, the system writes the basic dates from the network header into all activities in the network.
If you use this scheduling type, the dates of all the operations/ activities are identical.
The capacity requirements are distributed across the period between the scheduled start and the scheduled finish.
Costing calculates no capacity requirements when this scheduling type is used.
Schedule from current date
If you set this indicator the system schedules
orders und collective orders forward, starting at today's date
networks backwards, starting at the basic finish date, and then forwards, starting at today's date.
Foward/Backwards in time:
Basic dates with time of day
You use this indicator to determine for process orders and production orders that when you enter the basic dates, you can also enter the time.

  • Scheduling type for production order.

    Hi Gurus,
i have some doubts about production order scheduling. i have run a scenario OF MTO to Understand The Scheduling. i had created a BOM with  two components. The inhouse production Time of header Material is 3 days.and the scheduling Margin key is op2   flt aft1  flt bfr 1    rl per 2
after creating a sales order i had run MRP in MD50 by selecting scheduling 1 Basic Date Determination. it has taken the 3 days of in house production time and praposed dates.18th as starting date and 20th as finish date.and planed opening period is in past. and it has not praposed any scheduled dates in planned orders.
if i convert the planned order in to production order it is praposing the scheduled dates.
    scenario 2.
if i run the mrp for the same order by taking scheduling type as 2 lead time scheduling.       in planned order itself it is showing sheduled start date and scheduled finsh date. (which not shown in basic date run).
1.so is it mean that what ever the scheduling type we are using in MRP run is only applicable to create Planned orders only while convrting the planned orders in to production order dates will be re detemind. is this currect or wrong?
2.in which scheduling type system will not consider the scheduling margin key?
please help me to understand these questions.
    Thanks&regards,
    Venkat Bolla.

    Hi Venkat,
When MRP is run with '1' Basic Scheduling - Schedule Margin Key is not considered. As you rightly observed it considers the Inhouse Production days mentioned in materials master for fixing the start date. This is exactly to days.
When MRP is run with '2' Lead Time Scheduling - Schedule Margin Key is considered. Dates are calculated from Routing and Capacity requirement calculations are also done. Here calculation are exact to the seconds.
Schedule Margin Key takes effect only for lead time scheduling. Production dates are calculated from the float times of the SMK in the material master and times from the individual operations maintained in routing.
When planned order derived from Basic scheduling is converted to production order it is subjected to lead time scheduling and thus production dates are calculated

  • Process order scheduling type

    Hi Team,
While scheduling the process ord (COR1) , with scheduling type"No scheduling", when we enter any future date in schedule start & finish date, system changes these dates to "future date-1" & time to 24:00. We need that system should not change the date provided by the user ie keep the date as provided by the user.
    Awaiting your suggestions,
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jack

    Please refer following notes, 151503
    In that
In-house production time is larger than 0 days:
For material-related orders, the system interprets the order finish date as a requirements date for the material. Therefore, the following rule applies: If an in-house production time greater than 0 days has been defined in the material master, the requirements date is at the beginning of the day, that is, the order finish date is set to 00:00. In this case, the order finish date of the production finish date differs by one day from the order because the production must have already been finished on the previous day so that the material is available at the beginning of the next day.
With an in-house production time equal to 0 days, it is assumed that the material can be produced at any time of a day. For this reason, the order finish date is set to 24:00

  • Production scheduling profile for production order type 10 does not exist – SAP Message No.10085

When i tried to make confirmation for Production Order through CO15 transaction , i receive the following error message “ Production scheduling profile for production order type 10 does not exist – SAP Message No.10085 “
In Work Scheduling view, Production Scheduling Profile is maintained as per OPKP only.
How to check whether production scheduling profile is maintained for relevant order type 10.
To do this , i went to OPKP & KOT2_OPA transactions but i don’t know how to check. I guide me through with a screen shot.
Also, pls explain about  “Order Type 10” and how it is linked with material and order execution.
Looking for a detailed explanation with screen shots , since i am new to SAP.
    Thanks With Regards,

    Hello Dinesh,
Please check the order type dependent parameter in OPL8 here you will get the Substitute Scheduler
Then go to OPCH and check valid production scheduling profile assign here as per OPKP to your production scheduler for your plant.
Production order have Order category as 10  Process Order  40 in standard SAP you can check this in OPJH.

  • Contract , scheduling agreement and service order

    Hi all,
Can anybody tell me about the contract scheduling  agreement and when we can suggest our client to go for schedule or contract agreement ?
    Pls tell me elaborately .
Also Pls explain me about service order and when can i go for service order . whether it is restricted to AMC ?
    Pls explain me elaborately.
pls explain me steps for creating contract or scheduling agreement and service order..........................
    points to be rewarded.
    Regards,
    Girish.

    Hi,
Contract is outline purchasing agreement where you have a contract with the vendor, may be a for a predetermined quantity or predefined value. So everytime you need the matl,  you need to make PO ref the contract asking for the delivery of the matl. In such instance when PO is ref with contract its called contract release orders or call off orders. So Process are ME01, ME11, ME31K with aggnrement type, ME51,ME21 & MIGO,
Scheduling agreement is a long term purchase agreement, where you will keep issuing the delivery schedules whenever there is a change in requirement or at predetermined time intervals. The delivery schedule can be on hour/daily/weekly/monthly basis. SA is also an agreement with the vendor for the supply of matl, may be a quanity or value. The delivery dates will be maintained in ME38 ref the SA which are called delivery schedules. So you can maintain the delivery schedule and communicate the vendor on Forecase basis or JIT basis. And when you need some more matl then will only create SA deliveries using ME38. SA could be of 2 types:- without release documentation-system will transmit the delivery info to the vendor once you save the document.
With release documentation- after creating the delivery schedules you need to create SA release using ME84.So Process are ME01, ME11, ME31K with aggnrement type, ME38 & MIGO,
Service order or service PO is created with item Category "D" and an account assignment category as per ur requirement. U can not enter ur material here only u have to maintain short text of material. Example: You want to clean the boiler and u given contract to your Vendor. Vendor sends quotation mentioning that Rs.100/hr/Man head. Now how you will measure the cleaning activities of furnace? You can pay to contractor based on the hourly basis/ man head spent in cleaning activities. So in this case create the Purchase Order mentioning "Cleaning" in the short text in Item overview(Acc assignment ' K' or “C” or “P” and Item category 'D) and item details " Man Head" Service No , Gross price - Rs.100.00 and unit - hour ( or pick from Service master) and Quantity-number of hours spent by all man head.
The steps to create Service PO are:
    1) Maintain Item Category as D & account assignment such as cost center “K”or slaes order”C”
    2) Keep material code field blank.
    3) Enter description of service & other fields in the PO Item Overview level. Press Enter.
    4) System will prompt you to maintain services at Item Level. Maintain your service master number / service description & other fields (quantity / rate /)
    5) Save the PO.

  • Dates and quantities copied from Scheduling Agreement to Delivery Order

    Hi everybody,
we're experiencing a problem with copying control for dates/quantities between Scheduling Agreement and Delivery Order.
If we define a Forecast Delivery Schedule with more lines/dates into a Scheduling agreement, when I create a Delivery Order with reference to a specific date the system always copies the first forecast delivery schedule date, disregardful the date specified in the selection criteria for delivery creation and with the fact that this could have already been carried out.
    Here's an example:
Forecast Delivery Schedule into Scheduling agreement:
    (Date) 12.03.07   (Quantity)  10 TO
    (Date) 13.03.07   (Quantity)  12 TO
    (Date) 14.03.07   (Quantity)  15 TO
When delivery has to be created with reference to Scheduling Agreement, the system doesn't about the date specified in selection parameters (e.g. 14.03.07) and copies the quantity of the first forecast delivery schedule line (10 TO).
Does anybody knows how to maintain Copying Control for dates and quantities between Scheduling agreement to Delivery Order?
    Thank you!
    Luca

    Dear Pattanaik,
check data transfer from copy controls.for this T-code is VTLA

    Do not reduce,
Could any one light on this issue,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
This error will come if you have not maintained Define scheduling parameters for production orders.
Check this order type whether linked with respective plant in OPU3.*And give production scheduler * mark ie, all.*
And in Define production scheduling profile - OPKP, link your order type in the page below.
In material master work scheduling view, input production sch profile or prod scheduler.

  • Scheduling type - Backwards in time

    Hi,
Please explain the difference between the scheduling types 'Backwards' & 'Backwards in time'.
Case 1: I convert a planned to a process order with 'Backwards' scheduling. Following dates are observed:
    Scheduled finished    2009/08/06   17:00:00
    Basic Finish date        2009/08/07   00:00:00
Case 2: I convert a planned to a process order with 'Backwards in time' scheduling. Following dates are observed:
    Scheduled finished    2009/08/06   17:00:00
    Basic Finish date        2009/08/06   17:00:00
Can anybody explain the basis of difference of behaviour.
    regards,
    Mohit

    Hi,
Using Backward scheduling, when you create a prod order system will allow you to enter only finish date. But using Backward scheduling with time, when you create a prod order system will allow you to enter finish date with time.
You have mentioned 2 cases. Both are same.
    In case1,
    Scheduled finished 2009/08/06 17:00:00
    Basic Finish date 2009/08/07 00:00:00
System finishes the work on 2009/08/06 at 17:00:00. This is the end of the day as per your workcenter (check in capacity header view) and basic finish shows 2009/08/07 00:00:00. This is the start of the next day also known as end of previous day.

  • Two movement type in sales order

    Hi
my client requires a stock to transfer to plant (301 mvt type) to happen at the same time while creating the sales order.
for this i added one more movement type in schedule lines (mvt type 1 step) in img.
but i am not getting the two schedule in the sales order (if i am correct).
Please if anybody have an idea on this where i  missed any configuration for this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards
    S P

Schedule line in sale order will flow based on the settings you maintain in VOV5.
So go to VOV5, select your item category and check whether you have maintained there.
Also if I understood your question correctly, you want two schedule lines in sale order with same item category.
For information, when you create sale order for a material and stock is not available for the requested delivery date, then in such case only, you will get multiple schedule lines.
Moreover, One schedule line category can have only one movement type and this being the case, unless you differentiate the schedule line category and assign it in VOV5, your requirement cannot be met.

  • Route is not considering in delivery scheduling for Third party order proce

    Hi All
    Advance thanks for your inputs
We need to consider the route in the delivery scheduling for third party order processing..
    Example
i have standard order (document type OR)  when i have item cat TAN its considering the route for ariving the material availability date, if it has TAS(third party) then its not considering the route......
But we want to consider the route in deliver scheduling in case of third party order...
    kindlly pls advice..
    regards
    raja

    Hi Viven.,
Routes they come under normal order as we deliver the goods, but here in TAS,third party sale we are not delivering the goods,Just there is logical moment i.e MIGO,So i dont think we do routes for TAS

  • Scheduling type

    Hi
What is scheduling type forward in time and backward in time?
How it is different from backward and forward scheduling

    Hi,
    In simple words:
In backward & forwards scheduling the resolution is in days, so when you do scheduling it would be in terms of start date & end date.
With backwards in time & forwards in time, the resolution is in minutes. Meaning you can specify not only the start & end dates but the time with a least resolution of 1 minute. Implying that it is more accurate.
Instead of me writing too much, do a simple test in your sandbox, open any production order, select the scheduling type as forwards in time / backwards in time & you will notice that the time field adjacent to start & finish dates which is grey, will become editable. So for testing specify a time & do scheduling.
Revert if you face any issues.

  • SCHEDULING TYPES

    Hi All,
Please guide me to understand the following SCHEDULING TYPES will be grateful.
In transaction "OPU3 " there is a field called "SCHEDULING TYPE"  it has several types (1) Backwards,  (2) Backwards in time,  (3) Current date,  (4) Forwards,  (5) Forwards in time, (6) Only Capacity requirement.
I would like to know the functionality (i.e., Working methodology) with Scheduling & production orders of following SCHEDULING TYPES
    Only Capacity requirement
    Backwards in time
    Current date
    Forwards in time
    Provide me with simple example.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    Forward Scheduling
If you have specified forward scheduling in the network header as the schedule type, you must also specify the basic start date of the network.
The system starts from the basic start date and schedules forward in time to calculate the earliest dates of the activities and the scheduled finish first. Then it calculates the latest dates of activities and the scheduled start of the network.
If you have also specified a basic finish date in addition to the basic start date in the network header, the system uses the basic finish date as the starting point for backward scheduling.
    Backward Scheduling
If you have specified backward scheduling as the scheduling type in the network header, you must enter the basic finish date of the network.
The system starts from the basic finish date and schedules backward in time to calculate the latest dates of activities and the scheduled start. Then it calculates the earliest dates of activities and the scheduled finish of the network.
If you also enter a basic finish date in addition to the basic start date in the network header, the system uses the basic start date as the starting point for forward scheduling.
    Current Date Scheduling
With scheduling to current date, you can see whether the network can be completed by a certain date. In this method, the system uses the basic finish dates and schedules the network backwards and then starting with the current date, schedules forwards.
You can use the floats in the activities to determine how many days you still have or are short to make the finish date.
    Only Capacity Requirements
If you specify capacity requirements only as the scheduling type in the network header, the system copies the basic dates from the network header into the scheduled dates and into the earliest and latest dates of all activities.
When you have the system only calculate capacity requirements in scheduling,
o Time constraints of the activities are taken into consideration
              o Relationships are ignored.
    Special Function: Today Scheduling
"Today" scheduling is a special function in scheduling. In Customizing for the Project System, you can specify the number the days that the scheduled start may be in the past. If the scheduled start of a network is further back in the past than allowed, the system at first attempts to reduce the duration. If this is not sufficient, the system automatically schedules forward starting with todayu2019s date.
It is possible to have negative float times with today scheduling.
The backwards scheduling calculates a scheduled start that is in the past despite maximum reduction. Forward scheduling then calculates the scheduled finish, starting at todayu2019s date and using maximum reduction.
    Thanks
    HK

  • PS Scheduling with subnetworks (PM orders)

    Hello all,
I am currently working on a project where I am helping a client use Project systems to manange a plant shutdown.  The requiment is to schedule the many maintanance orders (300 +) using project systems to see the critical path and the to manage capacity of the work centers to fit into the time box for the shutdown.  I have set up a project down to the network activity level representing the high level process and have started linking PM orders through the additional data b tab, but I have a couple questions.
1.)  When you create the link on the additional data B tab.  You get a pop up box that will automaticly derive the Project definition and WBS element.  Should you link it to all through or should you only select one of the PS objects.  What purpose does it serve to show all three or just one PS object?
2.)  In terms of scheduling when i attach a PM order to a network and activity it will adapt the basic date of the network activity, however it does not change the day of the network activity to be the same period of the orders attached.  I am using buttom up scheduling on the network.  Example.  I have a network activity with a basic date and duration of 1 day.  If I attach a PM order which would require 3 days to complete the network still shows only 1 day.  When I reschedule the project should it change the dates on the parent objects? i can see the changed dates when I run a CN41 structure report, but if I look in planning board without the PM orders I don't see the true duration.
Any help would be appreciated on this subject.  I am not a PM person.  Not sure if this is an issue with a control key.

    Hello,
I think Abdul has answered your second question. As far as your first question goes, kindly note that the three fields in the Additional data tab serve a specific purpose:
    1) Project definition field is used only for reporting and is something that you will not change.
    2) The WBS field is derived from the network activity to which the PM order is being linked. Please note that this field is used to determine the special stock requirement i.e. the WBS from which the PM order will request reservation of goods provided the special stock indicator is used (this WBS can be changed for example a situation where you have done all procurement of the project on a central WBS as project stock and would like to re-direct all PM order reservations to this single WBS).
    3) The Network is used to link the actual PM order and is used to help schedule it in case the network dates change.
    Hope this clarifies.

    Syed Ammar Zaheer

  • Printing last delivery date in schedule lines for sales order

    Hi!
We should create a sales order with more then one schedule line. This schedule lines are only for internal use (only to plan our production) and not for printing on the sales order paper. Only the last line is the real delivery date which should be printed on the sales order paper. Now I'm searching for a solution to print only this schedule line.
    Have anyone a good idea?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Select <required fields> from VBEP
    into table <itab>
    where vbeln = <order number>.
sort itab by posnr etenr descending.
read table itab into wa index 1.
contents of work area will have the last schedule line details of order.
