Schemavalidate gives lsx-00023 intermittently, reporting garbage namespace

I am getting the error "LSX-00023: unknown namespace URI" intermittently from xmltype.schemavalidate. The URI shown in the error message is a series of garbage characters, usually starting with 4 'y's with umlauts (must be a name for that, but I don't know it), then a series of other characters mostly not generally found on my keyboard, other accented characters, squares, etc. The error may or may not happen on identical XML, I can sit with PL/SQL Developer hitting execute on the same script and it usually shows the error the first time, then may work fine for 4, 6, 8 executions before failing again. The XML is valid, I can validate it with other tools, here's a sample:

Any ideas on how to proceed would be appreciated. I also notice that when I write out the xml with dbms_output.put_line, it always stops part way through the xml (after the <description> element), not sure if that might be related.

I have now submitted this to Oracle as a service request.
It seems to be somehow related to the client, though I don't see how since the code is executing on the server, and all the data is there, the client is just calling a package procedure, passing a number. The error only seems to happen when using a windows client, whether SQLPlus, PL/SQL developer or JDBC (Oracle Thin driver). I've tried several XP machines, both 32 & 64 bit, both of which show the problem. When running the same thing on sqlplus running on the database host (which is running Solaris), or via JDBC from an application server (running Red Hat), I don't see the error.

  • Help my safari doesnt open and gives me a crash report

help my safari doesn't open and gives me a crash report ever since i downloaded a file from the internet. I have a macbook air (early 2014) with running os x yosemite version 10.10.1

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

  • Firefox crashes when i open it, wont let me on it at all not even in safe mode and it doesnt give me my crash report?

When i open firefox i get the message Firefox has stopped - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I've also tried to go in safe mode. It would crash and give me the same message.
I've tried opening it by right clicking and clicking run as administrator. It opens then and i tried the solutions it says on the forum to do in safe mode and none of those work.
I have deleted and reinstalled firefox multiple times.
    Nothing seems to work.
Also it doesnt give me a crash report.
I troubleshot it and it said "Issue found incompatible application detected " then it says "incompatible application - firefox is incompatible"

The problem began because my computer had to be sent in because it wouldnt turn on so i had to get it fixed they replaced the motherboard this was the second time the motherboard was replaced and once they did that my firefox hasnt worked the same. I can go on google chrome but thats not what i prefer to use.
& when i right click on firefox it says troubleshoot so im assuming its built in to my computer. im not sure.
I tried the profile manager to create a new profile and that has seemed to work so far. No crashing but it does freeze when i got to facebook and then i have to click ctr alt delete to open task manager to end firefox. It happened twice, the third time i went to google, then twitter and it didnt freeze. I then went to youtube and it froze. So Facebook and youtube make it freeze. Any idea why it does that?
& thank you so much for helping and responding to me.

Each time I try to watch my iTunes U podcast and try to skip forward my iTunes freezes and gives me an error report and shuts off, this happens also when I try to convert the podcast to my iPod. How can I fix this problem to be able to use iTunes U?

    Hello, bisco,
This forum is for questions from people who administer iTunes U sites. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the iTunes or iPod forums.

  • My Microsoft Word gives me an error report as soon as I try to open Word Document

I have the Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 and I've had it for almost 3 years now. I didn't have any problems until I decided to update it since I haven't done so when I installed Microsoft on my Macbook pro. After about 3 or 4 updates I started having difficulties when it suddenly gives me an error once I tried creating a new document that says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and underneath it says More Information so I clicked on it and this is what it gave me:

I clicked on check for updates just in case I missed any, but it says there's no updates available. Also, I restarted my computer twice and it still doesn't work. Did the updates messed it up? I really need to fix this problem soon because I'm going to need Word for school. Please and thank you!
Edit: I'll be moving this question over the other forum, but can anyone at least solve this problem for me here?

Microsoft Word is a Microsoft app. You should post your question to a Microsoft forum.
    Cheers,

  • Router reports garbage characters for Mac's DHCP client hostname

I've got a Linksys wifi router giving nice wireless access to my 17" powerbook (OSX 10.3.9). But when I look at the DHCP active IP table, this one (and another Mac I have on the network) both show up with garbage characters on the "client hostname" even though I have the "DHCP client Id" field filled in in the Network, TCP/IP system preference pane. How do I get the router to see my client's name?
    Mike

Might help if you told us what the "garbage" was. It
might help indentify what it relates to because it's
highly unlikely to be truly random. It's more likely
to be based on the client's MAC address.
    ok. It is, exactly: ¸#Єª
In any case, DHCP client ID and hostname are not
related, so you might be out of luck depending on
    what the Linksys is doing.
ah! Sorry - I thought that's what it wanted. So, where on my machine do I set the client hostname? Where does a router grab this info from? I've got a PC connected to this thing which does report its name correctly.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Intermittent report file write error in process model

    Hello,
We have recently seen a couple errors we have not seen before, that are intermittent.   This occurs in the single pass entry point sequence, the first "write UUT report" step (the non-on-the-fly one).  The error message is as follows:
"An error occurred calling 'Save' in 'Report' of 'NI TestStand API 4.0'
    A file with the pathname 'T:\HTC' already exists.. Error writing to file 'T:\HTC\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html'."
So when breaking here, and looking at Locals.ReportFilePath (which is the pointed to variable in the specifiy module of this step), it was indeed defined as:
    T:\HTC\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html
So everything looks correct, but it thinks that "T:\HTC" is the entire path.  So the next thing I did, after much confused pondering, was go to the "variables" tab while in break, and add an extra backslash to the part following "T:\HTC" in Locals.ReportFilePath so that the path is now:
    T:\HTC\\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html
I hit retry and it worked.  So my question is, if teststand is thinking the "\W" is an escape code, why does it work 99%+ of the time, and suddenly this weird problem?
    Thanks

"A file with the pathname 'T:\HTC' already exists."
This error indicates that there was a file called "T:\HTC" so the report saving code was not able to create a directory with that name. I doubt this has anything to do with backslash escaping anything since there is no expression evaluation involved and \W is not a valid backslash escapable character anyway.
Why you had a file called HTC I do not know, but I looked and that is what this error is for. The Report saving code attempts to create all of the intermediate directories if they do not already exist and if one happens to exist, but is a file and not a directory you will get this error (it is the error we get from the operating system). It is possible there is a issue with the OS where it incorrectly reports this error in some cases (perhaps with multithreaded access), but that I do not know for certain.
In searching for known OS issues I found the following:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q268897/
"On the other hand, an attempt to create a new C:\Development\Bin folder through the use of CreateDirectory() will fail with "ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS". In this case, the API fails when it should succeed."
Although it does sound like it was fixed in a service pack. Are you by any chance using NTFS on Windows 2000 and are not up to date with the lastest service pack?
Also it's possibly an unknown OS bug, what OS version are you using and can you reproduce the problem in a simple case?
Also, just to be sure you might want to make sure nothing is creating a file called 'T:\HTC' in your code.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello,
THIS IS NOT WORKING ...SHOWING AN ERROR CANNOT FIND MENU ITEM .This error means you are not giving the correct menu name and item name.
Open the menu and select the menu which you want to enable/disable dynamically then press F3 (for calling object navigator). You will find the menu name and item name (selected). Note that menu name and item name then use as below...

  • Disk utility intermittently reports corrupt disk

As a matter of routine maintenance I like to "Verify Disk" in disk utility from time to time.
The issue I am having is that disc utility intermittently identifies that the Server drive is corrupt and needs to be repaired. Here is a typical sequence:
    1) Run verify disk and it reports a corrupt disk.
    2) Boot up off a different disk and re-run verify / repair disk on the problematic disk and it reports that the disk is fine.
    3) Boot up on the original (problematic) disk and re-run verify disk and it reports the disk as fine.
    4) Checking again the next day the original problem resurfaces - disk is corrupt.
The server appears to be running fine, but I am loathe to have an issue like this potentially simmering in the background. I am also averse to upgrades until this issue is resolved. Any pointers on getting this resolved would be much appreciated.
Coincidentally, I have run disk warrior and it reports no issues.

Here is the typical disk utility log when reporting the error:
    Verifying volume “Server”
Verifying volume when it is mounted with write access.
    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Checking extents overflow file.
    Checking catalog file.
Incorrect block count for file kdc.log
(It should be 91 instead of 92)
    Incorrect number of thread records
    Invalid leaf record count
(It should be 1567637 instead of 1567636)
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking catalog hierarchy.
    Checking extended attributes file.
    Checking volume bitmap.
Volume bitmap needs minor repair for under-allocation
    Checking volume information.
    Invalid volume file count

    Invalid volume free block count

  • How to give serial number in reports

    Hi,
I want to display serial number (for each row of records retrieved ) in reports. How can I accomplish that? Please help
    Regards,
    Nycy

    Dear
sometime you sould use logic like this:
first, you should take a summry column into relevent group.
    then
    goto its property
    then
    goto Function field
    then
    select Count from list
    then
select the source means you want to count records acoording to which column.
    then
select from relevent group cource from Reset at
Now, give this summary column source to the required field then generate the report.
If you feel better to understand then give comments otherwise mail me at "[email protected]"I will give you the complete procedure with images.

  • New Appserver gives RFR problems in reports

    Hi,
We migrated from one application server to another. All connections are ok (server diagnostic). When running an evget formuma, it gives back #RFR. EVDRE reports expand correctly in rows and columns, but do not bring back any data. The applications process correctly (no errors), optimizing works as well. Sending data runs forrevere and does not come back with any result (subimiited or even failed - it keeps running in the left hand corner)
    Any thoughts?

It seems the migration was not performed correct.
How did you perform this migration?
Did you check if into appserver:
tblappserverinfo , tblserverdefaults, tbpappsetinfo have correct information?

  • SUNWspro 4.2 strcpy and strncpy intermittently produce garbage

    Hello,
I use Solaris 2.6 and when I use SUNWspro cc to compile a C program I sometimes get garbage when using the strcpy or strncpy functions. I am using character arrays. It occurred quite a bit more frequently when using Solaris 2.5.1. It seems as if there is an intermittent memory problem within the strcpy function. Please help me.
    Thank you

    Hello Sara,
Yes, some times APEX behaves weirdly, we had this issue when we use create_or_truncate procedure in on-load page process and if we call this page as pop-up using jQuery dialog. If we run page normally, then this issue was not coming. However handling create and truncate explicitly solved the problem. Strange, but that is how it is!
Is create_or_truncate no longer available from 4.2?No, see this
