School Project - Need guidance

Hello to all
I am quite new to programming and I have only started using Java last year and we have recently received a project to write a music player with java.
Im struggling to get information on how to do this exactly and I am not sure where exactly to start.
I would really apreciate any posible help, even a URL would help.
The media player must either work with mp3 or wav and must have a library function aswell as the basics : play, pause , rewind and fast-forward and we are alloud to use 20% ecternal source code.
Thanks a lot

    Hi
If You lost it - You need to get a new one. There are no free or legal downloads AT ALL.
    • Second handed from e-bay
    • See if Amazon - got any boxed iLife'11 DVDs left (cheque that iDVD is included)

  • Datawarehouse school project

Hi, I'm student and I want to do a school project with Oracle. My project is about datawarehouse. I want to build and work with oracle database and oracle data mining with datawarehouse databases.
I want to know if I can download oracle database and installed it on my own pc (It's only for school purpose objetives). I need some license?
I think I need installed Enterprise Edition for data mining, it's true? Can I use for my school project?
Can I download any datawarehouse sample database?
The are any tutorials or similar for it?
    Thanks you very very much!!!

    Hi,
Yes, you need to install the DB Enterprise edition.
This is available off of OTN.
I know that folks will download for evaluation.
You will have to check the license to see how it applies to your efforts.
    Thanks, mark

  • Copied School Project from DVD-Burn New Copy?

I copied my son's school project from a school-supplied/created DVD to my hard drive. Now I'd like to make my own copy. Can I do this? Do I need to get the DVD again to make an image instead? Or, can I copy to my Palmcorder and then import as a file? Thanks.

    @J Keller
Roxio Toast can burn these to a new DVD, but I'm not aware of any Apple apps that can handle those files without other processing.
DVDSP can also address Video_TS folders (however most folks don't have apple's professional apps).
So I'd agree that Roxio Toast (or Apple's DU) is his best option here.
Btw ... If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading that you can also try dragging your Video_TS and Audio_TS into the blank disc icon in the Finder and burning it from there.

here in ol' Europe, school boards use chalk and are not smart …
h264.mp4 is actually the most common 'standard' (4000 video 'standards' aaaaand counting)
mp4 is indeed universal (Mac, Windows, Linux), and since YouTube, the h264 codec has a good installed base .....
you can bump into probs only when it comes to sheer amount of data:
for instance cheap 'digital frames' are sortof over-whelmed, if you try to playback 720/30p in high quality.
I'm not familiar with 21st cent devices as SmartBoards ... again, it could happen, you have to reduce resolution/fps/bit-rate to avoid clutter&stutter in the video.
I'm using such encoded files successfully on Playstation3, WD HD TV or flatscreenTVs with integrated usb-connection (via stick), etc
    imho, it should work welll .............. < fingers-crossed >

  • Render problems_please help school project is due :(

Im working on a school project and everything seems to be working fine but im running into this problem...
After capturing from an xl2, the raw capture files play perfectly...
but as soon as i drag and drop my file into the timeline in FCP and render (still within FCP) , the video gets these horizontal banding. It mostly occurs during quick or sudden movements by the subject. I initially thought it just looked like that on the viewer and would go away when i export it out, but it still has it.
below is a link of a still showing the banding.

any help would be very much apprciated. my project is due monday
    thank you in advance.

wow. kudos to you, man. you've got a to learn on your own, that's too bad about your instructor. luckily the web is full of great resources and here's one of the best on digital video
    http://www.adamwilt.com/
your xl2 shoots interlaced video as well as progressive scan video in a different framerate. the perception is that 24p is cool and whatnot but it can come back and bite ya if you don't even know what regular ntsc video is. i urge you to not mess with 24p until you've got ntsc 29.97 fps video under your belt a bit more.
field order errors that david referenced are in that necessary bit of engineering that you now need to learn. all video isn't the same so you need to know what you're working with. minidv is DV25 and with some creative googgling, you can find the proper field order.
there's a ton of great informative fcp websites out there. http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/fcp_homepageindex.html for one. you may want to subscribe to larry jordan's free newsletter if you've not already. http://www.larryjordan.biz/
regarding your render issue, that will go away when you match your clip properties and sequence properties. go over thoroughly how to set up your project and sequence settings based upon what kind of video your working with.
we're here to help. you'll find you'll get better support by trying to help yourself first however by taking advantage of the manual and little used SEARCH function on this forum.
    good luck.

Don't post the same question multiple times. It's rude, as it leads to people wasting their time duplicating each others' answers.

Is it possible to create a schedule in Labview . Example: i want to off the lights at 7pm and want it on at 8am. If there is can anyone teach, its for a school project. Im using labview 2011...thx

Since this is a school project I recommend you do the work yourself. You will not learn asking others to do it for you. In addition, folks here will not do your homework for you. We are however more than wiling to answer specific questions for you. Post what you have done or tried and ask specific questions. I am confident you will get assistance.
And to answer your question, yes LabVIEW can be used to implement a scheduling program.

my project needs to be saved as a Video_TS/Audio_TS file for burning purposes with a company that does bulk burring. how do i go by this?

VIDEO_TS (and an empty audio_ts) folders are part of a standardised DVD structure.  So, what you need a DVD-authoring tool.  FCPX offers to create a very simple DVD, one movie, two designs (black or white), no menu, done.  Older Macs came pre-installed with iLife/iDVD  … export your project as a 'Master', drag into iDVD, select any design template ...   Apple axed 'disk creation' about 7 years ago ... the AppStore is crowded with other, convenient, consumer, template based  tools. Professional structured DVDs are only optional with obsolete DVDSP (part of FC-suite) or Adobe Encore .....

  • Since iOS 8.3 upgrade school iPads need to reset very often

Since iOS 8.3 upgrade school iPads need to reset (holding down home and power button) very often as they do not turn on. iPads are charged at the time.
Anyone know how to fix this? It is making life at the school quite difficult.

I take that back, music is messed up too!  Some of the "default" playlists, such as "recently added" , "Recently played" and "Top 25 Most Played" are listed on iTunes and were always on my phone... but since iOS 8.3... they are gone... Still in iTunes, but not on device.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Trying to get 4 clips on the screen at once for school project - HELP!!!:)

    Hi there,
I am trying to finish a school project about a fieldtrip which we have been on over the past few days and want four clips from the movie I have made to be on in the background while the title comes on the screen for each day.
Can anyone help please? I have seen some plugins but cannot afford to buy them just for this video but am desperate to make it look how I want it!
    Thank you all in advance,
    Matt Williams

You might try to use the button windows for your seperate movie clips. These can be moved about and enlarged. Try this site, it does a good job with an overview http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/idvd_5stone.html
The other way if you want only short portions of the four clips you can make them into short quicktime clips and drop them into the dropzones of a theme that has 4 drop zones. You do this by editing your clip (split at playhead) and sharing to QT then put in the drop zone.
Not entirely sure what you are trying to do but hope that helps.

  • Need guidance about career path.

    Dear friends
For me now it is a dilemma.
I was in Netweaver-XI team in our commpany, but there is not enough project to do, only some ALE/EDI/Workflow/ABAP(I have no Java knowledge at all) project for me, no real XI project.
Last time there was a CRM/SD project needing people, So I was assigned in the project and get certfied in OrderFullfillment.
But the problem is SD market is soaked, a lot of people doing it there, the salary will be down.
For CRM market in China, it is not started yet.
And for XI in China, it is just started and with good paid. But I think maybe it is too technical, I don't Java experience, either. I am confused.
Does any body could give me some sugguestion? Two Path:XI or SD/CRM?
    My skill: ABAPALEWorkflow+SD

    Hi Minghan,
Considering your technical knowledge, I suggest that your vision should be XI.
You needn't possess expert JAVA knowledge but a good understanding of the concepts or a crash course in core JAVA will suffice.
Even if you are not placed in any XI project in the near future, vist the SDN forums on eXchange Infrastructure regularly and start working on blogs posted on various scenarios.  This will keep you up-to-date with the technology.
This will help a lot in winning you a project during your client interview.
    All the best.
    Regards.
    Praveen

  • I'm looking for Apple desktop P.C. as an upgrade from my Dell /windows XP. I need  guidance.

I currently use a 6 yr. old Dell Vostro 200 (Windows XP). I want to upgrade to an Apple desktop PC. I need guidance to a product. Are any peripherals compatible (ie. screen, printer, Maxtor hard drive)?

Almost all  peripherals are compatible. I'd recommend reading https://www.apple.com/support/macbasics/  and if you have an Apple Store in your general area stop buy and ask questions. You were not specific as to what screen, printer etc... that you want to use with the iMac and that is all important so you can verify they are compatible.
