ScienceDirect doesn't support Firefox 4.0 any ideas?
Just updated to Firefox 4.0 (English US) and now find that ScienceDirect, an Elsevier eJournal site doesn't support 4.0.
Have any others had this problem and if so is there a work-around.
I've asked the Elsevier eHelp Desk the question when they intend to support 4.0, but have yet to receive and answer.

I want to clear the misconception that this browser version does not work with ScienceDirect; in principal there should not be any missing/faulty functionality on ScienceDirect resulting from the FF upgrade.
It is true that we do not yet support this browser but that is because this browser is brand new and we have not yet incorporated it into our development process. Having said that we are confident that Firefox users should not encounter any issues with this browser when visiting ScienceDirect, if you do please report it to the ScienceDirect [http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/contactus/ helpdesk] , your feedback is very important to us, I'm sure together we can resolve most issues.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so probably you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data, if you don't already ''totally'' uninstall firefox(user data and settings like bookmarks, extensions, etc. located here: ~Library/Application Support/Firefox so you must uninstall it separately, to totally uninstall firefox).

My internet banking doesn't support Firefox 4. How can I go back to 3.5 on my Mac?
My bank will not let me access my online banking because it says it doesn't support Firefox 4.

i can't burn a playlist to a disc from itunes, it comes up with no supported disc burners found, any ideas?
Additional information:
-also ran "Repair" with new download of iTunes
-am using the same spindle of CDs that worked perfectly a month ago. Tried another brand also to be safe. None worked.
-ran CD/DVD diagnostics within iTunes with Apple Care - no issues apparent
-also tried write-speed 20X on advice of Apple Care (don't know why they thought 20X would be the magic number after the other 3 I tried didn't work)
-tried running itunes in another user account on the computer - same problem, same error code
-Apple suggested it was a copyright issue. I can't even burn music that I created/recorded myself, so that doesn't make sense.
-They thought maybe Quicktime wasn't installed properly, so we checked a film in Windows Media - it played, meaning Quicktime was fine apparently.
Solution:
Unclicked CD text option & Sound Check, ran burn from the File drop down menu (max speed) on a Philips CD-R and it worked! Had been right clicking the playlist name and selecting Burn option from there. That being said, it did not work on 2 other brands prior, with same settings. Not sure why. Just happy it's working again. Is it a brand issue? -
I bought a new iMac today. I'm using migration assistant to move all my software, but the time just keeps getting longer. It says connect an Ethernet cable for faster data transfer. I did, but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?

Are you migrating from a Mac or a MS Window machine? Either way you probably should be in touch with AppleCare, you have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support. I have updated to the latest version of iTunes (11.2.2.3). However, when I connect my iPod it shows in My Computer and iTunes opens automatically when the iPod is connected but the device doesn't show in iTunes. Any ideas? I am on Windows 8.1 and my iPod is a Classic

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what kind of streaming you are talking about or what you are seeing when you try to do so in Safari. If the sites in question are Flash-based, you may need to make sure that Flash Player is up to date in Safari, as noted in this article:

It's very likely that your boot drive is failing. Back up all data immediately and schedule a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

Getting 2 different stories about what is going on would bother me too. I don't know what would take a week to test. If they are overwhelmed with work orders then they should say so.
Using your case #, I would ask for a manager. Be polite but firm. You have waited way too long on this and Apple should give you something for your troubles. There have been instances where people have gotten bags, etc where Apple screwed up. It happens in every company. Make the case that you have been out of a computer all this time. -

The Online Student Center for Princeton Review to be able to take practice tests doesn't currently support firefox 3.0, it says I need to either use Internet Explorer or Firefox 1.5 or 2. I have a mac, so I do not want to install IE.
They are insane if they require you to go back to a browser from 2006-2008. That's going to expose you to major security problems. Perhaps you should demand your money back!
Do you know whether you can install two Firefox versions on Mac and only use the old one for Princeton while still using a new version for everything else? Hopefully someone can chime in on that.

I recently purchased a second hand new macbook air, although it was second hand to me the previous owner had never actually turned it on. So i went through all the set up steps when switching it on for the first time.
My problem is that iPhoto and iMovie are not installed, and when i go to the app store the icons have an accept button, it then prompts me for my apple ID, obviously these a registered to the original owner, and says i need that ID in order to download them, or i'll have to purchase them.
I'm happy to purchase them, but it doesn't give me that option, every time i search for them in the app store they always come up with the accept option and no purchase option.

I am no longer able to resize my firefox window horizontally, any ideas?
I noticed earlier that I can no longer resize my firefox window horizontally, the border seems to have disappeared. I've searched, using google and various other sites to find a solution to this and I'm coming up short. I've tried multiple things, safe mode, hitting F11, clearing the cache/cookies, even reinstalling. The issue still exists and I don't know what caused it. It is also affecting various flash applications, they no longer scale to the window size and parts are cut off. Any ideas?

I can resize it Vertically fine but Horizontally doesn't work regardless of what I've tried. I gave thought to the localstore being corrupted as well and even tried making a new profile, it didn't solve the issue. I have added a screenshot showing the window, I don't have it maxed, I used to have 2 borders - 1 on the left and 1 on the right that I could hover over and it would let me resize using the mouse. They no longer exist. I'm using the default theme even since that was suggested as a solution on another forum topic.
Also, small edit, I apologize for choosing the solution as the fix, it's 3 am and I'm half asleep so I clicked the button meaning to click reply.
Second edit: I noticed one of my explorer windows having the same issue and part of the border not being there at all so I unloaded Windowblinds and the problem is solved, looks like my profile on it got damaged. Thanks for the replies. Topic can be closed. -

I have tried with an Ipad Air and Ipad using Op System 8.0.2 to mirror their contents to the screen of my Samsung Flat Screen Flat TV via the latest make of Appletv.I have spent over 2 hours going through all settings etc with Apple Customer Service Live Chat.They cannot find or replicate the problem and says it is all working fine.My TV screen displays, when i go into mirroring, "ready for connection - on your device launch Allshare Cast".Nothing happens although i have agreed with Apple Support that all settings are on and are correct.Can anyone help please, as Apple Support cannot?
