SCJA Certification Problem

Hi all,
Our company uses Java 1.4.2 so I want to get SCJA certification for Java 1.4.2. So I went to http://ca.sun.com/training/catalog/courses/CX-310-019.xml website to purchase exam voucher. But here i got confused. Under "Exam Objectives Section 1: Fundamental Object-Oriented Concepts" the very first point said there will be questions about enumeration types. But there are no enumeration types in Java 1.4.2. So why Sun is going to ask me questions about something which is not in Java 1.4.2?
I thought that may be its written for Java 5.0 but then in supporting materials it mentioned to read 1.4 specs. This is really getting me confused.
Please help.

SCJA is for Java 1.5, so you will see questions on enums, for:each and maybe even generics. But they are high level: like how the stuff works, and when they are used. There won't be complex code questions, so don't let them intimidate you.
Study a little bit about them, and be proud when you have a Java 5 certification under your belt.

Try changing the date in your phone, like one year ago This works for me. After installing the apps, change it back to normal.

IPhone Dev Certification problem (strange number following the common name)

Hi,
I have requested a certification for my iPhone Dev.
After I downloaded from dev center portal, I found that the certification approved by Team Admin
is like that:
iPhone Developer: FirstName LastName (Strange Number)
I didn't input such number while requesting the Certification. Does anyone know where is the number from? And could this number cause any problem in my further signing process?
Why I worry about my certification is I got some error in XCode Organizer like:
A signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain
when I installed my provision file with that certification in Xcode.
I suspect that the strange certification cause the problem.
Any suggestion about it?

Client can not communicate with MP over https. Certification Problem

Hi All,
I have been fighting with this problem for the last 3 days and couldn't solve yet. So, I hope we can solve it here.
I am trying to install client manually from a usb drive by using the below command.
Ccmsetup.exe /usepkicert smsmp=”srvsccm2012.domain.local” ccmhostname=”sccm.domain.tr” smssitecode=”AUTO”
Client Installs on workstations but only info that I can see under Configuration Manager Properties are:
Client Certificate: None
Connection Type: Currently Intranet
Version:5.00.x.x
So, there is a problem with connection to MP, It can not get policies and certificate info (PKI) etc...
If I try to browse these urls, result is 403 - Forbidden: Acces is denied.

By the way, This problem is happening on the newly reformatted workstation, existing workstations can be re-installed with client without problems.

I just checked SCCM SystemStatus/ Component Status from the SCCM Console and found errors under SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER
component:

Is the SCJA certification required before you can be SCJP certified?

Hello,
my question is, do I have to be SCJA certified before taking the SCJP test?
And if it is not required, do you suggest that I take SCJA anyway? It seems to me that if you're SCJP certified, then chances are you probably already know the Associate stuff.

You don't need to do SCJP before SCJA
One thing I've seen is people doing SCJP on 1.4, which is an easier exam than 1.5, with a lower passing score (52%).
Then, you get your SCJA on Java 1.5, which is the only version it is currently out on. Then you can brag about being certified by Sun on both Java 1.4 and Java 1.5. It looks great on a resume, especially if you're looking for a Java job.

Security Certification Problem

There's a problem with the Security Certificate of this site. Whenever I'm opening sdn.sap.com I'm redirected to a page saying "Continue to this website anyway (Not Recommended)."
Anybody have any idea what might the problem be?
[There's no security settings bugging this up from my side, there's no block at all.]

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I received an answer from our Operations team concerning the security warning.
It's usual SSL behaviour, sdn.sap.com is a DNS alias for www.sdn.sap.com, so there are several names for the same scenario. But a server certificate can only be issued to one name.
What a end user experiences then is just a security warning from his browser, notifying that the server cert and requested name does not match.

Hi,
You need to ensure that you have attributes that are 'certifiable'. Assuming you've imported the accounts, go to 'Administration' --> 'Resource Types' and select which attributes you want to certify against. No create a certification that includes users with certifiable attributes

Firefox certification problems with all HTTPS google sites

Every google site (https://reader.google.com https://mail.google.com, etc) says "Secure Connection Failed www.google.com uses an invalid security Certificate. The certificate is only valid for a248.e.akamai.net" If i click to add an exception and "Get Certificate" I get told that Certificate belongs to a different site, which could inidicate identity theft.
Oddly, midori isn't having this problem and neither is offlineimap when syncing my gmail account. This is only firefox and only on my Arch computer.
Any ideas?

I have, that's why I haven't installed the cert. I find it really odd that my system would be compromised though. For the following reasons:
The only service I run on my machine(we'll called this Box2) that accepts outside connections is ssh, on a non-default port. This port cannot be reached from outside of my home network. My router/firewall for my home (ipCop) doesn't forward a thing to this box. If I want to ssh to my main pc, I must ssh to another box first (we'll call this Box1), then ssh to this one.
The router, only accepts on a non-default port from a single ip address to allow ssh traffic through to Box1. Box1's iptables and tcpwrappers are both set to only accept connections from a single ip for ssh. Denyhosts is setup to block an ip after 3 failed attempts.
Box2's (the box with the problem) iptables firewall setup is incredibly strict. I have blocked by default all outgoing and incoming traffic and whiteless exactly what I need only.
My browser blocks all cookies and javascript by default (noscript and cookiesafe), and my whitelist for both of these are sites that i trust very well.
So while it's possible i've been compromised somehow... and someone's playing a man in the middle attack.. on only one pc in my network (me and my girlfriend are the only ones with physical access and there's no wireless access), I highly doubt it.

Certification Problems

Hi,
I have been an SAP SD consultant for around 4 years now and have also taken part in an implementation in SAP AFS. However, my company is not a SAP Partner. I do have an S user id given by my client. However, SAP says they need a s user id from the company and not the client and more over my company is not a SAP partner. I know that I can undergo training from SAP education partner but am not interested in that option for now.
Is there any other creiteria which can be looked into for me to undergo certification?

I have done Certification in South Africa.. There we have the provision to write as " Independent Consultants"
So.. I finished there...

How many certifications?

How many people have passed each level of the Java exam?
If somebody tells me he's a Sun Certified Architect for Java, how rare is his skill set? Is he one of only a hundred in the world, or are there ten thousand people just like him?

There are many, many folks out there with the SCJP cetification. The test is too simple to make the certification useful (and yes, I have it along with my 20 years of actual, real world experience in all kinds of software technologies).
The SCJD certification is probably the best one to look for if you are hiring programmers and there are far fewer out there. The candidates must actually write a significant program that requires a lot of exposure and some experience with a wide set of J2SE technologies. This program is graded looking for best use of Java capabilities, design, adherence to specification (which is very exacting), etc. It is hard to imagine, but not impossibe, that an trained monkey with a book could possibly write that program and pass the test. And yes, I have that one too.
The SCJA certification is pretty good and the folks with this level seem to be few and far between. But frankly, no certification would be sufficient for me to consider or decline a candidate architect. They are going to get run through the ringer by those who would be their peers and I'll be looking for experience (not just training) with with a wide variety of technologies, methods, etc. And yes, I have that one too.
I look at these things as just one input. If I am considering to resumes (before talking to anyone) and the candidates were otherwise equal, I would probably call the guy with the most impressive certifications and education first.
But I am a beast to interview with. Someone who managed to eek out good GPA in a decent school and get a couple of certs but who really knows nothing about applying these things has no real chance of getting hired over someone who doesn't have them (maybe even doesn't have a degree) but does have the right level of experience and can impress me and my peers in an interview.
Why do I have these certs? Because I spent a lot of years (almost 11) doing C++ in the Microsoft and CORBA camps and picked up Java and J2EE experience mostly on small side projects. I wanted to make sure that my Java skills were appropriately visible on my resume so I could stop working with C++ and get into large Java-based projects. I guess that strategy worked. I now consider them unnecessary as I have completed a number of large, quite visible Java-based projects.

Unable to load the list of replicas on mavericks server

Hi everybody, I have one server where the list of replicas, is not show in server app.

3. The state change again to stopped and I notice that the certificate is not being accepted in open directory service. Each time that I select my certificate in server app, This return automatically to the state without certificate, but it is only into open directory service.
4. I can read the replicas into the directory using dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 read Config/ldapreplicas. Everything looks like be ok.
5. I can read the information in password server using dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 read Config/passwordserver but I can't find the adresse of this server dans Kerberos client list using dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 read Config/KerberpsClient. I understood that the server address it could be in both list. I have been wondering if it is a certification problem into the replica server or if this come from the Master server in kerberos service or both.
I'll appreciate any idea

Bluetooth connection with jsr082 How can I get paired device list on phone?

Hi all,
Please anyone, who uses jsr082, help me.
First if i tried to get cashed or preknown device lists with function
discoveryAgent.retrieveDevices(DiscoveryAgent.CASHED);
or
discoveruAgent.retrieveDevices(DiscoveryAgent.PREKNOWN);
on a real phone(Nokia 7610) this functions return null, but I have paired devices (and one of them are active when I tried this app)on my phone.
Can you tell me it is a certification problem or what?

I don't think Siri support for auto Bluetooth is official yet. It sort works in mine, a Fiat 500, but I have to use the home button on my iPhone to enable Siri, the voice command button on my steering wheel doesn't do it. I would say keep checking the Siri/iPhone page on apple.com for info on when auto kits will be supported.

Client unable to check-in

I suspect I have a certification problem though
- before the client installation, I copied the certification file ESM-MS.cer into the same folder containing SETUP.EXE (as recommended by the installation guide at page 58)
- I imported ESM-MS.cer (and ESM-DS.cer, too) into Internet Explorer and therefore it can display the page https://fules/authenticationserver/userservice.asmx without any certificate warnings
Any ideas?

Separate versions of Oracle in a Sun Clustered enviroment?

Yes , some of the applications are on 8i , because those applications will be phased out in other 2-3 months, and because of certification problems of Applications with new db releases we did not want to upgrade those
