SCM 5.1 Vs SCM 2007 general discussion

Hello All,
While searching details related to SCM latest version...I came across some time it is mentioned as SCM 5.1 and some time it is mentioned as SCM 2007.
On the Help site it is mentioned as SCM 2007
Release notes it is mentioned as SCM 2007
And Technical requirement... Landscape it is mentioned as SCM 5.1 server.
What is the right Version.. what should we called as SCM 5.1 or SCM 2007.?

General discussion sounds like thoughts, comments, hopes and
wishes.
Builder 2, (meaning Flex Builder 2?), seems to be the only
area for other Flex 2 questions.
I don't mean to be wise here, but I personally don't
understand what a "builder 2" question is if not those that deal
with flex 2, such as those posted here. I want to post my questions
where they should be so that I might find help, so maybe the forum
labelling should be re-considered or better defined.

it would be great to have an off topic forum/section here for us to interact and have general discussions. almost every forum i'm a member of has an Off Topic section. we can get to know each other much better and share useful information and opinions about various topics, technology and others also. we can do the same through PM's, but getting everyone involved will feel much better.

Upgrade from SCM 5.0 to SCM 7.0 without Java Stack

Hello,
My query is we have a SCM 5.0 system which has a java stack in it. But now we are going to upgrade it to SCM 7.0. - Is SCM 7.0 has a java stack ?
If it doesn't have , can we upgrade SCM 5.0 to SCM 7.0 without Java Stack ? Is it posssible to upgrade without Java Stack or not ?
Is it possible that we can convert Java Stuff into ABAP web dyn pro ? If yes , how shall we can achieve it ? If not, how shall we proceed in an alternate way ?

Hi Manoj,
Yes the system is running okay and I can login without problem. The question I have is that the upgrade program started with default system number 00 loaded, where I don't know how to change it to match our system setting. Our system is currently having system number 01.

Searching the Flex General Discussion returns cf error

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone from Adobe can help me out here because if
I enter a search into the Search field in the general discussion, I
get a cold fusion error . If necessary I can send a screenshot of
what I get, but I can't seem to search the 'Flex General
Discussion' for anything without getting an error telling me to
contact the website administrator, of which I have no idea who that
is, or how to find them on the site.
I'm a designer/devloper who works alone and I really depend
on these resources to help me along when I need help, but not being
able to search the forum is becoming a real problem.
If this type of post should be done somewhere else, I
apologize, but I have no idea how to contact the site administrator
for the Flex Developer Center.

I always use the Advanced Search, which sort of works.

Moving Planning areas and Planning books from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.1

Hello Experts,
Can anyone have idea of how to transport planning areas and Planning book from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.1.
Do we need any prerequisite to Transport Planning area and Planning book from Lower version (SCM 4.0) to higher version SCM 5.1.
Any suggestion could be very helpful for me.

I have never done this, but I suspect it might be tad easier to just recreate them in 5.1 There are scores of tables that Planning Book configuration lies in. I would not rely on a transport mechanism working across versions to migrate every bit of the configuration accurately.

I know these are support type forums, but I was wondering if now would be a good time to introduce a general discussion forum for non support posts, and genral"have you seen that..." posts?

I think it's a good idea to have a General Forum which could be for questions that don't fit in the categories that are showing at present.
You could also have say a Chillout Room where it is just for general chit chat, they are popular in some forums.

SCM 5.0 and SCM 7.0

Hi All,
For training purpose, Is SCM 7.0 is better than SCM5.0 as far as PP/DS and DP is concerned? Which version is more stable and have less bugs. Any new tool/application which is missing in SCM 5.0? Can I find any comparision document on sap help and service market place?

If your requirement is of basic training purpose, then SCM 5.0 itself
will suffice. In any system, compliexity will arise only if you are
going for more enhancements and customisations.

General Discussion - SAP SCM 2007

Is any one refred the help.sap.com site for Supply chain mangement.
Now SAP SCM 2007 (SCM 5.1) versions documents are available for us to refer.
Just want to know the SCM consultant's view on the same.
Is now SCM - Demand Planning Consultant, Supply Network Planning Consultant, PP/DS consultant will replace with some other names?

As far as I have seen the names will remain the same like DP consultant, PPDS consultant or SNP consultant, but what might happen in future is they might now be called as SCM APO consultant.(APO is now an integral part of SCM along with SNC, F&R, EM and EWM) so they might add those in there.

I have to Install SAP SCM 5.1 Non-Unicode System, but I cant find Installation Media at Marketplace instead I can find SCM 2007. I am able to get SCM 5.1 SPs when I clicked SCM 2007 entry on Marketplace. So please confirm whether these 2 products are same or not?
If yes, Please provide a link/ note that shows SCM 5.1 has renamed to SCM 2007 from SAP.
