SCMA(Schedule Manager) - Monitoring Flow task

Hi,
Anyone has experience with SCMA. If so, can you please guide me in resolving the following issues.
1)In monitor, Flow task status is green but the underlying two steps have no status. I see <i>Schedule Job</i> and <i>Start Job</i> for each step with no status.
Why SCMA does not update the status of <i>start job</i>(or <i>Schedule job</i>)?
2)Since the flow definition is assigned to 'Customer' appplication, no work list is possible.
if so, shouldnt the monitor display the details of corresponding job(from SM37) in the flow task details. I havenot seen any demo yet with worklist so I do not what does it provide in monitor.
3)Is there an implementation guide for customer applications providing worklist?
I sincerely appreciate reply for any of the above questions.
thanks,
venu

  • SCMA Schedule Manager Email

    Hi,
This is more of an FI-CA question but there doesn't seem to be a specific forum for FI-CA so I'll apologise in advance.
I am having a problem with SCMA flow definitions.  On each task of the flow there is an option to send email to someone if the job has errored.  I have spent some time on this and have not been able to get it to work.  Has anyone got this working and, if so, how?
    Regards,
    Dion

Work fine for me. See SAP note 332149 for basic settings for the workflow.

  • Printer output in SCMA(Schedule Manager) Transaction

    Hi!
When starting a job in SCMA you never get the question if you want  the spool list to be printed or not. Is there a possibility to maintain this from somewhere else?
Can anybody help!! Thanks a ton in advance.
    Regards,
    Sanjeev Kumar

    Hi Sanjeev,
Just try this option out and see if it works:
    1. Select a Job from the tasklist.
    2. Instead of scheduling th job through a right-click (context-menu), just select the job and go to Menu option Environment--> Schedule With Job Wizard.
    3. In one of the screens of this wizard, you can see the option "Print Parameters". I guess you can ste the required options here.
    Hope this information helps.
    Regards,
    Anand Mandalika.
P.S: I wonder why this option of providing the print parameters does not appear when you do not use the Wizard.

  • Scheduling job perodically vs schedule manager

    Dear SAP expert
I would like to run the report fbl1n(PRogram  RFITEMAP ) and email to users.
    I have 2 option:-
1.Schedule the job periodically and email it through SM36.
    2. customise the report in schedule manager in flow definition and email to users.
option 1 i am able to execute.
option 2 i am not fully through. Please clarify how option 2 can be done.
How i should decide pros and cons of schedule the job periodically through SM36 OR THROUGH SCHEDULE MANAGER
    PLS CLARIFY

    Hello Santosh,
the link that you already got is good. Perhaps you also want to check out [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/FAQJobSchedulingManagement|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/FAQJobSchedulingManagement] and [SAP is first vendor to provide a comprehensive Job Management Suite |SAP is first vendor to provide a comprehensive Job Management Suite] for further information.
In short SAP CPS is an advanced scheduling tool like which competes against other like UC4, Control-M from BMC etc. But all these tools do not provide any real job documentation or job request functionality in order to get the process governance right. That's where the SolMan gets into the game.

    How flow definition works?

    Hi All
So far I know tasks doesn´t have this feature, but there are workflows where you can set it.
Try to create a workflow. It work for example for some transaction that have some steps to be executed. Eg. CKMLCP.

  • Schedule Manager (add Tcode to Flow Definition step)

    Hello together,
I have got a problem with the schedule manager ("scma").
I would like to add the Tcode cja1 (Project-Related Incoming Orders) alternatively the program "SAPLKAZB" to a flow definition step with a variant. But the program "SAPLKAZB" is used for more tcodes than "cja1".
How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Greetings,
    Peter

    Hello,
The Program 'SAPLKAZB' cannot be added to the flow definition step since its  function pool and not an executable program due to which you wont be able to execute it.
So its better the transaction 'CJA1' can be added to flow definition step and no alternative for program with varaint coz it wont work.
    Regards,
    Mansi.

  • Foreach Loop Container with a Data Flow Task looking for file from Connection Manager

So I have a Data Flow Task within a Foreach Loop Container. The Foreach Loop Container has a Variable Mapping of User:FileName to pass to the Data Flow Task.
The Data Flow Task has a Flat File Source since we're looking to process .csv Files. And the Flat File Source has a Flat File Connection Manager where I specified the File name when I created it. I thought you needed to do this even though it won't really
use it since it should be getting its File name from the Foreach Loop Container. But when attempting to execute, it is blowing up because it seems to be looking for my test file name that I indicated in the Flat File Connection Manager rather than the file
it should be trying to process in User:FileName from the Foreach Loop Container.
What am I doing wrong here??? I thought you needed to indicate a File name within the Flat File Connection Manager even though it really won't be using it.
Thanks for your review...I hope I've been clear...and am hopeful for a reply.

The Flat File Connection manager's Connection String needs to be set to reference the variable used in the ForEach Loop:

  • Question on Schedule Manager (SCMA)

    Hi all,
Is there a way for me to setup Schedule Manager (SCMA) directly in production without opening the production client for direct change?  Currently, any change that I make related to this transaction on both QA and Prod systems results to error message 'Client xxx has status 'not modifiable'.
    Thanks in advance.

  • SQL Error Data Flow Task 1: The buffer manager detected that the system was low on virtual memory...

I'm relatively new to SQL and this is the error that appeared when I tried importing my data. Not sure how to deal with this. Help please. Thanks a lot!
Information 0x4004800c: Data Flow Task 1: The buffer manager detected that the system was low on virtual memory, but was unable to swap out any buffers. 14 buffers were considered and 14 were locked. Either not enough memory is available to the pipeline
because not enough is installed, other processes are using it, or too many buffers are locked.

Either reduce the amount of data e.g. by lowering the Data Flow Task records max per batch and buffer size
or install more RAM, or process on a more capable computer.

  • Month End Closing - Schedule Manager

    Hello,
Does anybody know what are the other tools offered by SAP for month end closing?
I am trying to use Schedule Manager (SCMA) but its not letting me define dependencies on "Notes" task. I mean I am trying to add "Notes" task in Schedule Manager for the specific month end tasks which will be performed outside of SAP and user will just checkmark in SCMA.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
