SCN Editor capitalization bug on iPad

Hi All,
I am constantly using iPad to post answers in SCN forums when I am traveling. It's fine to read discussions using Safari browser but when I post the answer I have very annoying bug with capitalization: not only the first letter is capitalized for the new sentence but also the second letter. If I continue typing the autocorrect will replace the word with the duplicated first character.
Screenshots:
Trying to type the word "Test"
After typing the whole word "TEst" and pressing space - the result is TTest

me too. I just thought it was my iPad being a bit old
when I start a line like a greeting I would get
HHi
whenever I sign off on Ipad I end up getting
REgards
COlleen
I would then need to click on each word to correct it. It was frustrating so I now write short replies on iPad to avoid rework.

  • Ical bug on ipad application exits if I select 1 year ahead

    Anyone else get this.
If I open the calender app on ipad 3 and select Mar 2013 the application just exits. - May be a bug with the same month one year ahead (Works ok if I select a different month) or just doesnt like Mar 2013

Not a bug in the app per se. Works fine for me.
You might consider doing a reset before any additional troubleshooting. Hold the ON and HOME buttons simultaneously until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Takes about 10 - 15 seconds, and will restart on its own.

  • Huge Syncing bug when iPad is almost full

    Hi,
Just wanted to report I've just encountered a huge bug some minutes ago.
My iPad1 16gb (4.3.3) was almost full, there were something like 491mb left.
Tried to sync it via iTunes (10.3.1) which was unable to sync and import purchased apps cos it considered there was no space left on the device. I must say sync was set on manual, apps were not to be synced automatically, as for videos, photos and everything else.
Tried once again and same result. Unable to sync cos' iPad is full.
At this point, iTunes just crashed.
Relaunched it and tried to sync iPad a third time, which failed eventually.
At this particular point, iTunes just told me it was unable to read iPad's content and that I had to restore it…
I feel like there's something really weird which is happening here. I mean, there were 500 mb left and iTunes considered iPad full… which means it can be quite a huge problem for 16gb iPad owners if this bug is "spread" — or say generic.
BTW, I could have lost 2 months of hard work (and it is quite ironic as it was some work for an ebook to be sold on iBookStore soon) if I had not backed-up everything before (when there were 1gb left on iPad). In other words, the device I'm using a lot in my creative process could have screwed me. I wanted to use only iPad and iPhone for some projects but this event shows me it's just a dangerous idea.
If anybody encountered the same problem, feel free to report it.

Well, as I've said, fortunately I backed up everything and i'm backing up on a regular basis since those works are precious. I've just lost some saves from recent games I've purchased and that's it.
I've tried to sync an iPhone 3GS (1.2 gb left) and no problem.
Reinstalled iTunes just in case, after iPhone sync.
Then, I tried something with my iPhone 3GS. I've stuffed it so that there were something like 330mb left and…
same problem just happened. iTunes unable to sync, iTunes crashed, third sync and unable to read iPhone's content then restored iPhone 3GS.
Don't know if some app is involved, i've had quite a lot of problems with Real Racing 2 HD which crashed a lot on iPad but the app is not installed on my iPhone.
I'll try to find the crash report and post it tomorrow. Sorry, it's 2 A.M. in Europe and I'm a little bit in need of sleep.
Thank you for your concern anyway. Good to see the community is very reactive.

  • Bug in iPads Photo Stream?

    Hi,
I have a problem with my iPad 2's Photo Stream (the problem does not occur on my iPhone 4S):  when I open Photos and switch to Photo Stream most of the times it is empty.  If I open a foto app which can access pictures in Fotostream (e.g., Photogene), start to open a photo (Edit New) and choose "Photo Stream", I can see all the pictures in the Photo Stream. Then I can close the app, open Photos again, switch to Photo Stream, then all the photos in Photo Stream are there.
    This definitely is a bug!
    Anyone else has this problem?

Looks like, this is definitely a bug. See here.

  • Will bugs from iPad 2 go to iPhone 5 with restore?

I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 5. I've been mainly operating off of my iPad, because I literally just got my iPhone. I've had my iPad for a year or two and it has it's glitches here and there. I back it up to iTunes daily and whatnot. My main concern is, if I go to restore my new iPhone from a backup, that the bugs/glitches will transfer over.. Will that happen? or no? Please answer :)

I spent an hour and a half with support yesterday and did not resolve our problem. I am not cazy about using Icloud and updating my operating system from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Yeomite 10.?.?. There seem to be a lot of negative remarks.
    The easy solution is:
    1.Open address book
    2. Highlight all addresses you want to export
    3. Under FILE/EXPORT> choose Vcards
    4. SAVE vCards 2014-mm-dd file to DESKTOP
    5. Email this file as an attachment to yourself
    6. Open this email on your Ipad
    7. Click on the vCard attachment
    8. Dialog box appears, asking, if you want create new contacts or edit contacts
    9. I chose EDIT, as it asks if you want to creare new contacts if it does not find any existing contacts
    Simply and easy.

  • BUG REPORT: iPad Safari glitch and Fedex' website problem? HELP!!!!

Okay, I've discovered a weird bug and I don't know how to fix it, but you should definitely check this one out so you don't get the same problem...
I recommend you DON'T try following this on your iPad, otherwise you'll also experience the error, and I haven't found a way to fix it yet.
    Process:
On iPad Mail I received a message from Apple's store detailing my iPad hard case has shipped via Fedex. I tapped the tracking link inside to view the tracking information. Fedex' site launches in the iPad Safari app, the URL directs me to the usual shipping status page, but then a dialog box pops up saying www.fedex.com "Framework Not Found!" with an "OK" prompt button.
    Problem:
The button cannot be tapped. The modal dialog box therefore refuses to disappear allowing access to any other part of the Safari app. In effect, Safari is now useless.
I can launch different URLs from Mail and the page in the background updates, but none of the interfacial buttons, swiping with fingers or any other means of using Safari now works. What I need is a way to force-quit Safari.
    Anyone?

Results of Google search on force quit ipad app:
"Apps are software, too, and sometimes software gets stuck (just ask anyone who’s used a computer for more than a month). To make a cranky app shut down without having to restart the whole iPad, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red “power-off“ slider—but don’t slide this time. Instead, press and hold the Home button down until the app quits and you find yourself back on the Home screen. "

  • Latent OS Bugs in iPad OS 3.2?  - Crash/Reboot with Search & Photo Scroll

I now have an issue with 'Search iPad' causing a crash & reboot on my ipad. It will also crash/reboot when scrolling through my Photos. What I have found is that once you install somewhere between 850-900 Apps that this starts failing and is first letter search term sensitive. (i.e. So far I found the key first letter to search which seems to provoke the crash is: F, P, S. Other search terms starting with other letters may work.) The Photo Scroll crash/reboot I have not tried to debug yet but I only have 383 photos loaded right now.
Bottom line it looks like the same indexing bug in the iPhone OS 3.1.2 is also latent in in the iPad OS 3.2(7B367). Hopefully this, as well as the wifi & intermittent video playback crash problem will be fixed soon.
Is there a beta test code patch/fix for this?

    Hey, all -
Having the same problem, but there's a workaround. I know everybody wants an official fix, but you also probably want to see your photos in the meantime regardless.
Note that I don't know what to do about the problem with searching when you have 800+ apps installed. I didn't even think you could install that many. As far as I know, then, this only works for Photos (better than nothing, right?).
Here's what you do - it's actually really simple...
    1. Instead of scrolling down through your photos, select a photo - any photo - without scrolling.
    2. When the photo is loaded, look at the bottom of the screen. There should be what looks Ike a series of little boxes. These little boxes are your friend.
    3. Touch and drag along the strip of boxes. You'll notice that they're actually the universe's smallest thumbnails, and that they expand when you touch and drag (not unlike the OS X dock when you mouse over icons and they "magnify").
    4. Scroll along until you're getting to the photos you want to see. Then just let go. The Photo app will take you to that photo. Even if it's a photo you couldn't reach by scrolling down in the traditional fashion, you'll still be able to get to it.
    5. If you want to look at other "nearby" photos, you can use that thumbnail strip along the bottom again, OR you can just tap the back button to return to the album. Photos will return to the usual thumbnail view (the one that's crashing for some of us), but it will drop you off in the vicinity of the photo you just looked at. For example, if you followed the steps above and dragged your finger all the way to the right to load the last photo in your album, then the back button will return you to the normal thumbnail view, but you'll be looking at the last page of photos in your album.
I hope that makes sense. If it doesn't, then just try the first four steps. It'll make sense to you after that.
I've been able to view all my photos since learning this little trick.
I've been meaning to plug my iPad in and use the app development tools to look at diagnostic information that'd help me understand why it's crashing. If I get around to it, I'll come back and post what I find. My guess is that, if you have enough photos, and if you're scrolling fast enough, the Photos app is using a lot of resources to load thumbnails without unloading the ones that have already scrolled off the screen. In other words, I think that quickly scrolling through a large library leads to the Photos app using too much memory, forcing a reboot (apps are supposed to be designed to respond to system warnings about low memory - if they don't respond to the warnings and continue to use up system resources, the system will sometimes reboot itself).
    Hope this helps

  • Bugs on iPad Photo application - Faces

I have discovered a bug on my iPad's Photo application of the Faces. For some faces, the preview has the zoomed-in face of the person, which is normal. However, for the new faces which I have added on my Mac, the preview of the face is the whole photo, which is not normal. Is there a fix for this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the default keyboard? Or a third party keyboard? If the latter, go back to one of the built in keyboards.
Is the iPad plugged in when this is happening? If so, you may have a bad charger. It can make the screen do funny things.

  • Track editor display bug?

I captured a video using iMovie and shared it with GB 3.0.2. I notice an apparent bug in the track editor... in a place where the right audio channel drops out due to a problem during filming, the track editor still displays waveforms in both the L and R channels. The waveforms are different than the normal display for GB... they are shown half-rectified so that there is data in the positive direction but below the zero point there is nothing. I think that's because GB is using data from the L channel for the + side of the waveform in both channels of the display and data from the R channel (which in this case was virtually silent) for the - side. Anyone else notice this? Viewing a stereo track with similar waveforms in both channels it would be hard to detect this.
    Allan

    Anyone else notice this?
Yes, this is true in GB2 as well. No clue why the programmers decided to do that, and it's weird, but not detrimental ... at least to any of the work I've done.

  • "Open with External Editor" command bug?

Seems to be a bug with "open with external editor" command. If I try it just after Aperture has been opened, it usually works (sometimes not). And then after a couple of photos being edited in photoshop, it sometimes stops working. When I try it, it simply gives me SBBOD for a few seconds (which it does when it's working as well), and then nothing happens. No new master created in Aperture, and nothing in Photoshop. If I restart the program, it usually takes care of the problem, and it will work again for a bit. Sometimes restarting the program doesn't even work, and I have to reboot. Very strange.
Any one else getting this? Any ideas?
    I'm using 1.1.1 and Photoshop CS2.

  • Ios7 bugs for iPad 2

The delay is horrible, the touch screen is exasperating I just want to throw my ipad 2 against the wall, I had to update my iphone 4 for those reasons and many more, I got the iPhone 5s 64gb, so I can't afford a new ipad, are you EVER going to fix these bugs!

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you tried turning Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion 'on', closed apps via the multitasking bar, and tried a soft-reset of the iPad ? If the keyboard is slow then something that I've seen suggested, and which appears to have worked for some people, is to turn Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data 'off', and to then turn it back 'on'

  • Dead bug under iPad screen

1st generation iPad less than 2 years old.  A small bug was crawling around UNDER the screen and died in the middle.  Brought it to an Apple Store and they "offered" to let me pay $249 for a replacement.  Shouldn't the screen be sealed???  Why should I pay $249 when the device was $699 new less than two years ago and shows no visible damage which would allow for a bug to crawl in?

Well, if nothing else, you can genuinely and truthfully state your iPad has a bug.
The top of the screen is in fact sealed, but the bottom of it (under the screen) is not. Odds are the little critter found his way into your iPad via the 30 pin plug port (or less likely the headphone receptacle). I'm not without sympathy, but not sure how you could hold Apple responsible for that.
Asreviously suggested, you might try moving your issue up the food chain at the Apple store, but beyond that not much more I could recommend. A third party repair service may be a less expensive option it you do end up needing to have it cracked open.
