SCOM 2007 - SharePoint 2007: Maximum connections counter

Hello,
I am trying to locate the "Maximum connections counter" for SharePoint 2007 using SCOM 2007. I don't see it so far!!!
"Web Service - Maximum Connections" does not show anywhere any idea?
Thanks,
Dom
System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 / Forefront Client Security / Forefront Identity Manager

The object is Web Service, which then has several different counters, which then might have several instances.
If this performance object is something you want to monitor for, and it is not included in the mp, then you just need to create a performance monitor or collection rule, depending on what you want to do with the data.
The Exchange 2013 MP, for example, has no performance collection rules.  So it's very possible, while the product group wanted to include everything most people need, they could have forgotten or were just not able to do so before they had to release
the mp.  The MOSS 2007 MP has been around for years, was never updated, and isn't one of the better mps from MSFT.  So if you want to extend it with a custom management pack, or just add something via the console, then you should be fine.

  • Authentication of live connected dashboards in sharepoint 2007?

    Hi Guys,
Could anyone let me know how is the authentication of a live connected dashboard(Enterprise Authentication to Business Objects , data on dashboard is got via live office)  handled when we upload a dashboard to Microsoft Sharepoint 2007. If you open the page with Dashboard, will it prompt user to enter his BO userid/password?
I installed the Portal Integration KIT that comes with Xcelsius 2008 setup files. I have added the web part assemblies to Global Assembly Cache using Xwp.dll and ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.
Will this ensure the authentication of dashboards in sharepoint page or is there any other configuration required?
Any inputs to this will be highly appreciated!
    Thanks.

Please share ULS log for more detail.
As for now you can check with user control appearing randomly in error if any of these contains " &#44
" code in page directive or reference directives and replace them with comma ",". Fab 40 controls do not work straight away in SharePoint 2013. you need to have install then one by one after copying them over to
new environment. User PowerShell command to Install them. Please share log detail

  • How to auto populate data from one list in SharePoint 2007 into another list based on a key value?

    Hi,
As a part of new requirement in my project I am supposd to work on SharePoint 2007. I have one List (BCExtract - Main list) with all data related to an Application (like ID, name, app manager RTO etc).
I have created another list which has form to be filled by a user (with details about his/her applications). My requirement is that when the user enters AIT ID then the page should refresh (probably after hitting enter) and other details like Application
name, RTO etc which is present in another list gets auto populated depending on the AIT ID (unique column) entered so reduce the burden on the user.
Please suggest me how this can be done. I do not have permission for obtaining SharePoint Designer and I do not know JQuery. Infopath is ok but if this can be done through SharePoint 2007 alone then it would be great.
    Thanks....

    Hello,
You can either use jquery/jaavscript or infopath form to achieve this. There is no default way to do this.
I would suggest jquery because you can put script in newform/editfor.aspx page using content editor webpart. Refer this link for jquery:
    To get value from list:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ac47fe2a-ccb6-4f5b-b274-703aecc6cb0a/get-list-items-in-sharepoint-2010-by-using-jquery
    http://www.robertkuzma.com/2010/08/read-list-items-using-sharepoint-web-services-and-jquery/
    To set value in column:
    http://paulgalvinsoldblog.wordpress.com/2009/06/13/quick-and-easy-use-jquery-to-set-a-text-field%E2%80%99s-value-on-a-sharepoint-form/
    http://spservices.codeplex.com/discussions/468729
If you use infopath form, then you need to create two data connection to get data from both lists. Later you can set value in fields based on selection using rule. This can be possible without code.
    Hope it could help

  • Sharepoint 2007

    Hello,
We have a very big problem with saving files in Sharepoint. We are using Office 2010 Pro with Sharepoint 2007. Problem is that we can open excel file only in read-only format. We cannot save it in Sharepoint. Only thing that we can do is to save copy of
that file. Is there enyone who can help with this.
P.S. If the same user connect to sharepoint with different PC he is able to save it in sharepoint so I think that the problem is in Excel 2010

Did you checked whether your document is get stuck in your upload center, from Office 2010 all your documents will go via upload center, you can check this in Task manager Notification panel --> Top directed arrow marked icon will be presented over there.
double click to open the same.

  • Can Xcelsius Enterprise integrate w/ Sharepoint 2007 with Xcelsius Webparts

    Hi,
Our organization is thinking about investing in Xcelsius Enterprise.  We have Crystal Reports 2008 and Sharepoint 2007 running.  Can Xcelsius enterprise connect to both and can I implement a realtime dashboard on Sharepoint 2007.  I'd like to create a dashboard in Xcelsius and publish it to Sharepoint 2007 as a swf file and have the flash object updated automatically.  Can someone confirm that Xcelsius enterprise will work?  Will it do it through webparts?  Also can I duplicate the same dashboard on Crystal Reports 2008 InfoView site?  The dashboard on Sharepoint would be mutlipaned and have some KPI's if I can set them up against the dashboard information.
    Thank for your help.
    Dominic

Anyone?  I can't believe no one has tried this with Xcelsius Enterprise?

Hello all. Can any of you tell me if Novell Groupwise 7 can be integrated with SharePoint 2007? If so, do you have any related documentation. Thanks

    * SABisram,
the MS "integrator" told us Sharepoint can use GW as an SMTP server, that's pretty much all. It can also use LDAP to integrate with eDir instead of AD. As you can imagine, MS didn't put too much effort in such 3rd party integration.

  • Sharepoint 2007 designer - sqldatasource and grid view not displaying on SP page (An unexpected error has occured)

    Hi All,
I am using sharepoint designer 2007 and am trying to use a sqldatasource to populate a gridview and then display that on an .aspx page. While in designer everything seems to configure okay. I am able to test the connection and display the data
as expected from the sqldatasource within designer. Then I have the gridview control use the sqldatasource. At that point the grid (within designer) displays the headings as expected. The data that is displayed in the cells is "test data" rather
than actual data value - I'm not sure if this is normal - for example, the data values in every column / row are all equal to 'abc'. Date values are all equal to current date.
Then when I actually display the sharepoint page (via Preview in browser)  I get an error "An unexpected error has occurred".
I am using SQLExpress on my laptop as the database for the sqldatasource. I have tried both integrated (windows) and SQL authentication with the same results.

    Thanks Daniel.
I am unable to connect to my SQL EXPRESS db on my laptop via SPD 2007: I get the error -
I am able to access that database via SQL Server Mgmt. Studio (both with Windows and SQL Server authentication). I can also access a SQL Express database on a remote server from the exact same SPD 2007 session: I get -
So, I wonder why I can connect to the remote but not the local? Anyway, if you have any ideas I would appreciate it. I am willing to do the work from the article you mention but wanted to rule out there being a simple DB access issue first.  I'll also
start to find the ULS logs and review them.
    Thanks again !!
Update on 1-3-14: Hi, since yesterday I also have been able to connect to the SQLEXPRESS database / table and display the .aspx page with the gridview in Visual Studio 2010.
Update 1-26-14: Sorry for the delayed response.  I determined the reason why I could not connect to the SQLEXPRESS instance on my laptop was that there was a local host intrusion (firewall) rule on my machine that prevented an inbound connection
on port 1433.  SharePoint server >>> inbound connect on port: 1433 >>> to Laptop device, not allowed.
    Thanks.

  • Problem linking SharePoint 2007 calendar to Office 365 Outlook

    Hello,
I'm trying to link our SharePoint 2007 calendar to my Office 365 Outlook on my Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1. The problem is, the Actions button in our Sharepoint calendar does not have the "Connect to Outlook" option visible at all. I've done
the connection multiple times and everything should be in order, but now trying to do this with our new Office 365 & Surface Pros this problem occurs. I tried it with two different Surface Pros, neither have the Connect to Outlook button available.
    Any ideas?

Having been working on a very similar project for a good few months, I could probably write a novel on this.
First, forget about the tool, there's isn't a golden utility that'll do everything for you.  This is due to the two generation gap between technologies and the move from on-premise to cloud.  Simply throwing a tool at this and hoping it'll work
    will cause you problems.
First, analyse your SP 2007 environment and work out what you think your pressure points will be.  For us, there were plenty, such as: -
    Custom workflows
    Densly populated lists
Changes in functionality, content types and so on
Obsecure changes to web part functionality
You'll want to see HOW any tool you look at handles these issues.  We ended up using Metalogix Content Matrix, which has a few troubles moving workflows and custom forms.  In the end these were recreated manually.

    hello
need to implement an extranet based solution of Windows Sharepoint 2007, clients may need to traverse a BM reverse proxy server in order to hit the sharepoint environment. have a few questions

Yes, if you use proxy, sessions are always between client and proxy,
and another session between proxy and origin server.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you want to encrypt the data, I
think you would be best off doing a generic tcp proxy for port 443, and
have the cert on the endpoint (sharepoint) server, but perhaps that
would give cert errors due to the addressing.

Im sure when using ISA as the reverse proxy, you install the SSL certs on the ISA box, and then you can use an internally generated cert on the web servers.
I also read somewhere that BM dosent support webdav?
do novell provide any documentation on this sort of configuration
we have a BM server already, there is an external firewall which forwards traffic to various websites to a specific port on the BM server, which then proxies the requests internall. it dosent seem particularly smart, more like a glorified port forwarder?

  • Migration on Sharepoint 2007

Site Collection Consist of webparts, lists, Excel having macro connection with lists, infopath forms on Workflows, etc., Migration between another sharepoint 2007 using Bakup and restore. what are the items will be successfull migrated and what will not,

If you want to do that the only approach I see is use a 3rd party product such as DocAve and Quest to do delta migrations.

  • How can I filter a Sharepoint 2007 libarry list based on current user login?

    Hi all.
I would like to know how I can filter a SharePoint library list based on current user login.
Suppose I have created the followings:
    1) A SharePoint form library containing bunch of uploaded InfoPath form data.
    2) The InfoPath form template contains a promoted text field called "TargetUser" to store user domain login (ex: DOMAIN\JOE) and every InfoPath form file in the library has a valid domain name stored in the "TargetUser" field.
I have created a custom view for the form library and would like to filter this view so only items whose "TargetUser" field matches current user's login ID are displayed.
I went to Edit View page to customize the view and tried to use the [Me] function but I got a "Filter value is not a valid text string" message instead when clicking OK. Apparently [Me] returns a Person/Group data type and the filter cannot compare its value
    to that of "TargetUser".
I tried using text functions (ex: TEXT([Me],"") hoping to extract default string value from [Me]. The filter accepts the parameter without any error but the resulting fitlered list does not display any items at all.
I have googled this subject for hours but I have not found any solution.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can help me to create a functional filtered list.
FYI, my SharePoint 2007 installation is just WSS 3.0 + Form Server. I do not have MOSS 2007 (so no MOSS 2007 web parts or web services).
    Thank you.
    Jason

Here's what I usually do in order to accomplish this.  Ultimately you'll need to have 2 different fields.  There's the one you already have, with DOMAIN\username stored in it.  Then you'll need an additional field as a "person" column type.
    Call it "TargetPerson" or something.
Create a sharepoint designer workflow that runs each time an item is created or changed.  One action:
    Set FIELD to VALUE.
The first FIELD is "TargetPerson", the VALUE is your "TargetUser" field.
Once this is done, then the person value is stored in the person field.  This is the field that you can filter by "TargetPerson" is equal to [Me]
