SCOM 2012 Data Access Service could not start

Hello,
I have 3 SCOM 2012 servers. I got the error that the All Managament Server Pool is not available. Google search give me a lot of posts to add folder PoolManager at HKLM\System\CurrontControlSet\services\HealthService\Parameters with the DWORD keys PoolLeaseRequestPeriodSeconds
600 and PoolNetworkLatencySeconds 120. After restarting last SCOM server the Data Access Service could not run "Windows could not start the System Center Data Access Service. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion"
At Operations Manager Eventlog I see an error: "OpsMgr Management Configuration Service failed to communicate with System Center Data Access Service due the following exception: System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Unable to get ISdkService interface.
Please make sure local Sdk Service is running."
At System Eventlog I see an error: "A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the System Center Data Access Service service to connect."
Why did it run on the both other servers and failes on the third one? What can I check?
Regards, Doreen

Hi,
According to my understanding, after editing the registry key value, two of three management servers work fine now, and the issue only occur to the third one. Whether all those servers are running with Windows server 2012?
I would like to suggest you re-check the service account for the data access service, maybe we can re-enter the account credential. Those three servers may use the same account for the service, make sure the account is not disabled and you enter in the right
password for it.
Here is a similar thread, please go through it for more details:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f2281934-513d-4b60-bb4b-34ae8a892ace/failed-to-open-the-console-and-system-center-data-access-service-wont-start-scom-2012?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
In addition, please also restart the third server and check the result, and I know that there is a similar error message in SCOM 2007:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/csstwplatform/archive/2012/01/02/scom-2007-r2-unable-to-open-the-scom-console-after-server-reboot-the-sdk-service-is-stopped.aspx

  • Data Acces Service could not start

    Hi everyone,
Completely accidentally, putting manually Agent Control Panel settings on the management server then we have restarted the Microsoft monitoring agent service.
After having realizing our mistake, we have removed all these settings(it should be empty in the management server), but then some problems occurred on the server and data access service does not start again. There are 2 management servers at the environment
and we are having the same problem on both servers.
For example, the following event is seen on the event viewer, i know the description is not normal.
The System Center Data Access service failed due to an unhandled exception.
The service will attempt to restart.
    Exception:

Also, when we control, at the registry   [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Server Management Groups] keys are dissapearing!
When we created the keys manually, data access service is starting and console is opening. But when we restart either Microsoft monitoring agent service or the server  these keys are dissapearing again.
    Any help!

    Hi Yan,
I also continued to analyze at the lab environment. But, the following key cannot seem on the new established server:
    (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Agent Management Groups)
Are you sure that you have it? This key must not be seen on the management servers.
By deleteing this key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Agent Management Groups) and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HealthService\Parameters\management Groups\  for group (was empty) copying
the keys out of the working management servers, I realized that problem is over.
    Thanks

  • Data Access Service SPN Not Registered alert in SCOM, while i have registered the SPN on the service account

    Hi Guys,
I get an SPN error for the Data Access Service. But i have registered the SPN's to the account.
Why does Opsmgr still gives this Alert:
    Kind regards,
    André

This is because by default Domain User accounts don’t have the ability to update their own SPNs.
To set your SPN correctly use the following commands with a user who has Domain Admin privileges:-
    setspn –A MSOMSdkSvc/SERVERNAME DOMAIN\USERNAME
    setspn –A MSOMSdkSvc/SERVERNAME.fqdn.name DOMAIN\USERNAME
If you wish to check that SPN registration has been set up correctly use:-
    setspn -L DOMAIN\USERNAME
Also you can refer below link

  • Oracle10g Installation Error isqlplus service could not start

I have successful installed Oracle10g on Windows 2000 Professional on a machine with no previous installation of Oracle.
I uninstall Oracle9i on another machine with Windows 2000 Professional using the Universal Installer, run regedit to remove Oracle under Software; stop all Oracle Services; delete the oracle physical folder.
I restart the PC and install Oracle 10g, but the following error appear:
Could not start the OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I neglect this error and continue the installation. All services work, e.g. sqlplus, and Enterprise Manager
    http://localhost:5500/em works except
    isqlplis on http://localhost:5560/isqlplus
I check the Control Panel's Administrative Tools, Services and found that OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus is starting, but you cannot stop or start it. What happens?
Is there a way to seolve this problem?

I resolve this problem caused by JAVA_HOME path of the Windows 2000's System Variable by changing it to map to c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\jdk and then OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service can start successfully on Local Computer

  • System Center Service Manager Data Access Service Start Up Failure Due to SQL Configuration Change to Mix Mode

Our SCSM Management Console, SCSM web Portal, every thing is down after we change SQL Authentication to Mix Mode Windows and SQL. After this we had revert back to Windows Authentication Single Mode and delete that account who was having DB_Owner access.
Please help to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance

What do you mean by everything is Down? Is the SDK (data access) service able to start?

  • System Center Data Access Service

I am having issues with a new management server in our environment. We are continually getting the following error -
The System Center Data Access service failed due to an unhandled exception.
The service will attempt to restart.
    Exception:

We have a handful of other Management servers in our environment that do NOT have any issues. This management server lives in a Hyper-V environment as do all other management server with the exception of 1. The OperationsManager and Operations Manger DW
    live on Hyper-V as well.
Just getting this management server installed has been a bare to say the least, using the GUI install would simply rollback due to the fact that setup could not get the DataReader/DataWriter account information, so we were forced to install via cmd line.
During setup while monitoring the install logs it attempted to start the SDK service which I will say is a Domain Account. Each of the 4 attempts resulted in he Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized.
We have attempted the ServicesPipeTimeout registry fix and that didn't work.
I am looking for some guidance on where I should look as to a "root" issue, any help at this point is appreciated.

    Hi Kirpal
Can you try this it might help as its an known issue of getting event id 's 26361,26380 try out & lets see if it helps.
The manifest files are located on the RMS at the \Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\ root directory. The manifest files will need to be edited for the config and sdk service on affected RMS. The file names are:
    Microsoft.Mom.Sdk.ServiceHost.exe.config
    Microsoft.Mom.ConfigServiceHost.exe.config
In between the EXISTING <runtime> and </runtime> lines – you need to ADD a NEW LINE with the following:
    <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
This solution disables CRL checking for the specified execute-ables, permanently.
