SCOM 2012 Open Custom Dashboard directly in Console

I wanted to display a dashboard on a big Screen .
I was looking for options and with the help i could find , we could open it using Web console on the TV , or Sharepoint Site or Visio diagram
then i found we could open the particular view directly using SCOM console (If it is installed)
Using something like: Microsoft.MOM.UI.Console.exe /ViewName:View_f0e6e6d99131451985140cb5f020028e.
This is valid for SCOM 2007 R2
Is there an similar option for SCOM 2012, I want to to show a particular dashboard that we created using this method.
I am following this article
http://www.peppercrew.nl/index.php/2011/04/scom-open-view-direct-in-console/

I tried this $mg.GetMonitoringViews() | where {$_.displayname -like "*My Distributed
App*" | select Name
However i am not able to fetch the Distributed Application view that i created.
Is distributed application different from View. I somehow aint able to find it when using the Powershell or SQL
I even tried to fetch from SQl Database as well  using http://www.peppercrew.nl/index.php/2011/04/scom-open-view-direct-in-console/

  • No Data In SCOM 2012 R2 VM Dashboards

We just applied CU3 for SCOM 2012 R2. We also imported the management packs for the new SCVMM Dashboards. How long should it take before we get data displayed in these new dashboards, 'Virtual Machine Dashboard' and 'VMM Host Dashboard' ?

    Hi,
Based on my understanding, your issue is that you have import SCVMM management pack, under Monitoring workspace on Operation console, under the management pack, you cannot see data under the two dashboard.
It is suggested to make sure those objects are discovered already, and then check whether those corresponding rules are enabled.
And it is alway recommended to look into the management pack guide before using it.

  • SCOM 2012 Service Level Dashboard

I have been tasked with creating a Service level dashboard for SCOM 2012. After reading up on various blogs and sites around methods and BI / reporting tools I am no closer to knowing what would be the best solution, and would appreciate some guidance.
I want to create SLO groups for applications - Exchange, AD, SQL, SCCM etc. and have a high level heat map with measures like CPU util, Disk space %, latency etc. updated every minute and displayed in each block (preferably using corners of a single block),
and if possible to add a bootstrap style icon into each block.
I would like drill down functionality on each group that then breaks down into another heatmap (per server).
And then to drill down further which displays a SLD type dashboard on that instance.
I am comfortable with creating the final level SLD using widgets, would it be possible to use Visio for the heatmaps ?
I have looked into using Power View, would conditional formatting be a better option ?
Id like to publish the dashboard into Sharepoint.
Would appreciate your feedback. Once i know which solution to look into, it would become much easier to focus my attention.

    Hello
I have SCOM 2012 installed. The principal functions it is able to monitor the uptime and downtime of Windows 2012 R2 servers (Exchange - Lync - Hyper-V) on a Dashboard and have SLA in Datacenter Monitor.
Is possible may have a Dashboard with real-time measurements (Downtime - Uptime) in SCOM and also SLO Dashboard?
I create a SLA Tracking and shutdown a host for 2 hours was always 100% the Dashboard.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
When you are creating Service level tracking, please chose Windows operating system as the targeted class, and then create a service level dashboard to add the created SLA, you may get the downtime and uptime information.

  • Problem upgrading from SCOM 2012 SP1 to R2 (near impossible to uninstall SCOM agent from Management Server)

I'm trying to upgrade our SCOM 2012 SP1 environment to R2, but I have a heck of a problem getting there.
We currently have an test installation with SCOM 2012 SP1 with Management Server and Console on a single 2012 Standard server. The database are located on a remote server. The R2 setup stopped mid way through the setup, because the SCOM 2012 SP1 agent is
installed. And I could NOT remove it my any normal means. I've tried "misexec.exe /x productcode", the setup, powershell uninstall and so on. Nothing works, because the management server installation is blocking the uninstall. The uninstall says
I have to remove the management installation first. And that's not gonna happen.
I had to follow this guide to finally getting through the setup: http://www.opsman.co.za/forcibly-removing-a-scom-agent-that-cannot-be-uninstalled-by-normal-means/
In addition to searching for the agent msi install key in registry, and deleting everything. After I did this, the setup is working, and the SCOM management server, console and DB are up to date. However, the Microsoft Monitoring Agent are STILL there in
Control Panel. And this can NOT be the most healthy way of getting through the setup.
I'm about to upgrade to R2 in our production environment with 3 management servers, and I would hate to go through this sketchy process there as well. Just for the record, I have no idea why the agents are installed on our management servers.
Any of you have tips as to how I can get rid of the agents more gracefully?

    Hi
    Thanks for the replay guys!
None of those links touch my problem I'm afraid. I have followed the Upgrade guides you pointed to, step by step. But the setup does not Complete. There's problems during the actual software Upgrade of the management servers (3'rd step in the Upgrade page).
I've dived into the Application logs and installation logs, and as far as I can tell, it stops because it has trouble upgrading while the server has the 2012 SP1 Agent installed. I do not remember the actual error text right now, but I can get it in a few
    days.
Anyhow, the setup DID move on once I removed most of the registry information of the agent installation. So. that leaves me to the conclusion that the agent IS in fact stopping the setup. Either the agent are malfunctioning, or the setup do not expect the
agent to be present on the management servers. I suspect the latter to be the the most plausible. At least until Yan Li told me this was normal.
So, I'm not sure what to think. I'm pretty much forced to remove this agents, as this is the only thing allowing me to continue the setup. At least untill I'm told otherwise. But I hate to do it this way. It's so dirty. The registry is pretty much cleaned,
but there's still Application files present, and the agent is still in the Control panel and can be started. It's not something I would like to do in our prodution environment.

  • Maps SCOM 2012

    Hello Guys
I have installed SCOM 2012 R2 and I need to map the monitored servers but no license sharepoint enterprise to create with Visio pluging monitoring views.
I've already posted dashboard in SharePoint but I have not found another way to create a similar topology to what can be achieved with Visio.
I would like your help to know if there is another way to create topologies (maps) and be published by example in html o in sharepoint.
    Regards

No, you will need to create Maps for SCOM 2012 R2 by Dashboards. you can't do it through SharePoint by .html

  • SCOM 2012 R2 - Does the CU1 must be installed before installing CU2?

    Hi,
Is it needed the CU1 before installing CU2?
    Is CU1 a prerequisite for CU2?
    Thanks!

Firstly, SCOM 2012 R2 has Update Roll-ups (URs) and latest one being UR4, Cumulative Updates (CUs) are for SCOM 2012 SP1 - You can directly go for the latest patch available
For SCOM 2012 R2 UR4 refer: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2992020?wa=wsignin1.0, please also find a caveat in it

  • Count of time to opening the customer's card in Siebel by SCOM 2012 R2

    Hello!
I need to know how long opens a customer's card in Siebel.
It is possible to implement by SCOM 2012 R2?
Problem for me is, the link doesn't open by GET method, is opened by javascript:.....(.....)
    Something like this
    https://[link]/start.swe?SWERowId=.....SWEView=Contaс

    Hi,
As far as I know, SCOM can be used to collect performance datas from monitored object, but the time used to open a link is not a data of performace that can be collected.
And there is build way to get the time used by default. So it is suggested to find other way to do this, such as scripting.

  • Dashboards Problem after SCOM 2012 Inplace Upgrade- Missing Stored Procedures

    Dears,<o:p></o:p>
After finishing SCOM 2012 in place Upgrade I face a problem on Performance and Service level dashboards, the Upgrade has been finished successfully as shown below
But after I start Dashboards configuration I receive below errors
After troubleshooting I see an error in Event viewer beside the errors on Snapshots above said that
Fault Detail is equal to could not find stored procedure
so I compared Stored Procedures under SCOM data warehouse database with another SCOM 2012 installation (different customer) and i see a lot of Missing Stored Procedures
(all Stored Procedures  start with 'SDK.Microsoft_SystemCenter_Visualization are missing)
Here i am stuck, I don’t know what I can do, I have some ideas but i don't know if its will work.<o:p></o:p>
    My ideas are:<o:p></o:p>
    1. Repair SCOM 2012 Installation (does the repair option will repair the databases)
    2. Re import Default SCOM Management packs like (Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Library.mpb) (does MP contains Stored procedures in the Database)<o:p></o:p>
    3. Install Rollup Update (may during installation it will create missing Stored Procedures)
    4. Move Stored Procedures from other SCOM server installation
    Please advise its strange issue
    Appreciate Your help
    Note:<o:p></o:p>
Everything is work correctly regarding Raising alerts , generate reports , servers state , reset and recalculate health state, installing and ininstalling agents and others.

  • View Process Peak on SCOM 2012 Console

    Hi guys,
I need your help for the following question.
Is there any way to view in SCOM 2012 Console the process that generates a memory o disk peak on a monitored machine? Until now, only I can see an alert for the resource peak, but I can't identify the process that generates it.
    Regards,
    Rodrigo

SCOM does not monitor the memory usage per process base. If you want to do it, you should create a custom rule.

  • All SCOM 2012 R2 dashboards are blank on Windows 7 for any user

All SCOM dashboards are showing up completely blank on several (but not all) Windows 7 machines and a 2008 R2 server (with RDS)...for any type of user. It's not a permissions issue as the same user can RDP to the SCOM Mgt server and view the dashboards just
fine. It seems to be some underying pre-requisite that isn't there, or isn't working. We've installed the pre-reqs (reportviewer, SQLSsyClrtypes, etc) to no avail. I've also tried doing a "repair" on .Net, and rebooted as described in another thread,
but that didn't work. I'm guessing it's something baked into our desktop images, but what am I missing

...also, we're seeing this event in the application log when the console is opened on an affected machine (but, not necessarily when opening the dashboard)...so, not sure it's 100% relevant.

    Hi all,
I have SCOM 2012 installed and created some dashboards.
Our sharepoint server is managed by other department, so it is impossible to install visio extensions or scom console on it.
Is it possible to create a SCOM dashboard on SCOM server and just reflect it on a Sharepoint page without any single configuraiton on Sharepoint server?
    Thanks.

No I think You are required little configuration in SP site as well to integrate scom with sp.
