SCOM 2012 R2 Integration with Lync Server 2013

Hi,
I am trying to configure SCOM 2012 R2 to work with Lync server 2013 standard edition. I have successfully installed and tested Lync Server 2013. But the problem is, I never worked on SCOM application before and I can not find any easy documents online. So
could you please help me and suggest any step by step guide for the same purpose!
BR,
Ajit

Hi,
Glad to hear that you have solved the issue. For the second question, what did you want to do with the Windows Server (anything to do with Lync Server)? As it is another question, you can also post another case on Technet forum and more engineers will help
you solve the issue.
Best Regards,
Eason Huang

  • The problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012

    Hello.
I have problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012. All other reports (not forecasting) works fine. For example, report “Host Group Forecasting” don’t work. The report is generated, but I have error: “Subreport

SQL collation for all SQL DB instances (SCOM and VMM and SCOM reporting) – “SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS”
SQL Analysis service: SQL collation – “Latin1_General” ; language for the server – English (United States)
I think the problem in regional settings. By my opinion there are two possible mistakes:
SQL collation  for all SQL DB instances. May be need use “Latin1_General_CI_AS”
    as provided by
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2012/05/25/clarification-on-sql-server-collation-requirements-for-system-center-2012.aspx
Need change regional setting. Question is for what (OS regional setting, SQL Analysis service settings,…) ?

Error: Subreport could not be shown
Opening a report for Client Security might result in the following error being displayed in one or more areas of the report: "Error: Subreport could not be shown."
    Background
There are two possible reasons for this error:
    1. Wrong location   The reporting server is pointing to the wrong computer running SQL Server or a SQL Server instance.
    2. Insufficient permissions   The account configured (in SQL Server Reporting Services) to connect to the reporting database does not have appropriate permissions for the database.
    Solution
To determine which reason is causing the error, attempt to directly open the subreport reporting the error, by clicking the name of the subreport.
If the reporting server is pointing to a wrong location, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'SystemCenterReporting'. Cannot open database "SystemCenterReporting" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user username.
To verify the correct SQL Server computer and instance path
In Report Manager, navigate to the report generating the error and click the Properties tab.
Click Data Sources and under a Shared data source, note the path.
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is: http://hostname/Reports/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is: https://hostname/Reports/
    Click SCDW.
In the Connection type list, ensure that Microsoft SQL Server is selected.
In the Connection string box, ensure that the correct SQL Server computer and instance name are entered.
    Note:
A period (.) denotes the local computer.
If the account has insufficient permissions, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for data set 'DSDashboardComputersTrend'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) EXECUTE permission denied on object 'prSAS_UX_DashboardComputersTrend', database 'SystemCenterReporting',
    schema 'dbo'.
To determine if you are experiencing the SQL Server permissions issue
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is:http://hostname/Reportserver/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is:https://hostname/Reportserver/
Click Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting, click Microsoft Forefront Client Security, and scroll to DashboardComputersTrend.
    Click DashboardComputersTrend.
If you are experiencing a SQL Server permissions issue, an error similar to the preceding error appears.
To grant permissions to the SQL Server computer
    1. In Report Manager, click SCDW and note the account in the Connect using section. This is the account under which the database is contacted.
    2. On the server with the System Center Reporting database, start SQL Server Management Studio.
    3. In the tree, expand Security, and then expand Logins. Do one of the following:
If the user account is listed, right-click the account, click Properties, and then go to step 5.
If the user account is not listed, right-click Logins and choose New Login.
    4. In the Login name box, enter the user account (domain\username).
    5. In the Login Properties dialog box, click User Mapping, and then under Users mapped to this login, select the System Center Reporting check box.
    6. Under Database role membership for: System Center Reporting, select the db_owner check box, and then click OK.

The Real Problem is that my Lync HP 4120 Phone can't make a sign in, not from USB cable loging, nor with PIN authentification
When I try to make a login with the USB cable, I set the user and password and the phone says "Connecting to Lync".. "Downloading a certificate" ... "Installing certificate"... "Downloading Certificate"...
    "Installing Certificate".. forever
When I try to make a login with PIN Authentification, the phone first displays the following:
Account used is not authorized, Please Contact your support team and then shows this:
An Account matching this phone number cannot be found. Please contact your support team.
    The Pin authentification is enable
In the Lync Server Enable Kerberos Authentification, Enable Integrated Windows Authentification and Enable Certificate Authentification are enable

  • Renaming Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller with Exchange Server 2013

Is it possible to rename Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller, as we are using Exchange Server 2013 as a member server on Windows Server 2012 ?
We have some issues with the Domain Name, so want to rename..
Maybe somebody knows the best practices how to do this in best way???
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    You should do the following:
    1. Promote another DC.
    2. Transfer FSMO roles to that server.
    3. Decommission old DC.
    4. Rename it.
    5. Promote it again as DC.

As with the original issue, your problem is likely with the Edge server. The first thing I would do is check all of your ports and DNS settings.
Remember that Edge may use somewhat unique ports for AV if you, or the federation target, used a single IP address. If you haven't, see if you have that unique port open on the firewall. If you used a single IP address, ensure that the federation target
has the correct port open also.

  • Client support on Mavericks (OSX 10.9) for Lync 2011 with Lync Server 2013

It was just pointed out to me by Microsoft Product Support that Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks) operating system is not currently supported by Microsoft.  See the paragraph entitled Macintosh Operating Systems in this link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412781.aspx
Does anyone in the Lync community know when it will be supported?

Nothing that I've heard. Having said that although unsupported it seems to work fine (well no worse than it did on 10.8 with its intermittent crashing for no reason) I've been running it on Mavericks pretty much daily since October last year and am running
    14.0.7 of Lync 2011.
I have seen a few people report issues though mainly inability to download/search the address book, but not sure if these are related. (although the reports say it's after they upgraded)

  • Make Call Fail on B2B in Lync Server 2013

    Hi,
I am facing an issue while working with Lync server 2013.
My analysis on the issue is as follows:
Lync Client 2013 (SIP Scenario) :
    1) Invite from UCMA application to Lync Server and then to reach Lync Agent.
    2) Trying
    3) 180 Ringing
    4) "488 not acceptable here" responded by the Lync Server
    Lync Client 2010 (SIP Scenario):
    1) Invite from UCMA application to Lync Server and then to reach Lync Agent.
    2) Trying
    3) 180 Ringing
    4) 200 Ok (Lync Agent attends the call)
The scenario works properly with Lync Client 2010 and Lync Server 2013.
But the same doesn't work with Lync Client 2013 and Lync Server 2013.
Kindly revert back with a possible solution ASAP.
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hi,
Make sure Lync 2013 client update to the latest version and then test again.
If the issue persists, you might post the issue on Lync MSDN forum and more developing expert will help to solve the issue. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Persistent Chat (Lync Server 2013) with Lync 2010 Group Chat

I have successfully deployed Lync Server 2013 and both 2013 and 2010 desktop clients connect and function as expected.
The problem is with Persistent Chat. It works perfectly with the 2013 desktop client but - whilst 2010 Group Chat connects - I receive the error message "The [LOGON_DOMAIN] is not available". No chat rooms are available and I am unable to search.
I have been unable to locate anything on the web which discusses the problem.
I do not know whether this makes a difference but the 2010 clients use terminals rather than dedicated workstations.
Can anyone shed any light on what the problem may be?

Have you created a CsPersistentChatEndpoint to allow the Group Chat client (2010) to connect to Persistent
Chat server? Please take a look at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx

  • Disappearing disk space Windows Server 2012 R2 with SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise

I've got an interesting problem with a virtual machine in our VMWare environment.  It is Windows Server 2012 R2 with SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise installed.  I started out with a 60GB disk and it started running out of space, so I increased
it in VMWare and extended the partition to 100GB.  Well, that lasted for a bit and so I extended it again.  I've done this 3 or 4 times and now I've got a 160GB disk with about 2-3GB of space remaining (and it started with 10GB remaining).
WinDirStat shows 105GB of <Unknown> space being used, which is probably my issue.  However, I can't determine what this is and it keeps growing like a tapeworm.  The context menu on the <Unknown> files has all the options disabled,
so WinDirStat doesn't appear to have access to whatever the file(s) is/are.  I've performed several chkdsk /f on the C: drive and nothing bad is reported.  I don't have any restore points and am not running VSS (that I'm aware of).  The pagefile
reports as being about 4.9GB, so that's not the issue.  No large files are shown anywhere and my explorer settings are set to show me all files, including system files.
When I try to run WinDirStat with elevated permissions, it hangs and becomes unresponsive.
I've even resorted to running CCleaner to see if it found anything, but it simply found the standard temp files and such...about 1GB.
I'm pulling my hair out...and I don't have much to start with.  Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Russ

It appears that somehow, Microsoft Fusion Assembly binding logging was turned on and many of the temp folders located at c:\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\InetCache\IE were filling up with hundreds of thousands of Fusion HTM log files.
This is controlled by an entry in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fusion\ForceLog which was set to 1.  Hopefully, setting it back to zero will fix the issue.  As a result of figuring this out, I have recovered almost 80GB of disk
space occupied by the log files.
I thought WinDirStat would show me what I needed to know, but it turns out TreeSize (which I've used in the past) works much better.

  • SSRS 2012 report integrated with SharePoint 2013 issue :Report refreshing after some idle time

we have SSRS 2012 report integrated with SharePoint 2013  , when we click on any toggle item after some idle time of 60 secs and try again to expand
another toggle item then  complete report is getting refreshed and  if we are in child report it is redirecting to parent report. . we didn’t set any refreshing property at report level. I hope there will be some idle time setting at sharepoint site
    level.
    what we observed.
    1. there is no problem when we expand toggle items without any idle time.
    2. when we open the report and expand few toggles and keep idle for 60 seconds and try
again to expand another toggle item then  complete report is getting refreshed (all toggle items are collapsing).
    3. If you keep idle for 60 minutes and if you didn’t do any action like expanding toggle
    items it is not refreshing.
why it is happening and how to stop that complete refresh.
    Surendra Thota

    Hi Surendra,
I have tested on my local environment and the issue can be caused by the session time out ,the time out of the report precessing, database timeout,DataSet query execution timeout and so on.
I would like to confirm that the refresh you have mentioned is the page refresh or the report reloading?
Please reference to the setting below to don't limit the timeout values if you got the report reloading:
Point to a report in the library.
Click the down arrow, and select Manage processing options.
In Processing Time-out, select Do not time out report processing or
Limit report processing in seconds if you want to override that value with no time-out or different time-out values.
If you got the session timeout that refresh the page, please reference to the setting in below article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492284.aspx#bkmk_session_settings_section
Details information in the article below about the timeout setting for your reference:
Set Processing Options (Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode)
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.
