SCOM Agent installation Issue

Dear all,
We have SCOM 2012 r2 , when we install agent through discovery . We got the below error
The Operations Manager Server cannot process the install/uninstall request for computer xxxxx due to failure of operating system version verification.
Operation: Agent Install
Install account: XXXXX
Error Code: 80070035
Error Description: The network path was not found.
Any idea what would be the issue here ?
Gone through some forum , but no luck

Thanks,

Hi
Kevin Holman has a great blog on troubleshooting agent install issues here:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/01/27/console-based-agent-deployment-troubleshooting-table.aspx
The error you state has "Manual Agent Install" as the "fix".
Could you confirm:
1. The agent is in the same domain as the SCOM Management Server?
2. Can you do an NSLookup from the Management Server to the agent FQDN?
3. If you try and install the agent manually, do you get an error or does it complete?
Cheers
Graham

  • SCOM agent installation fail ?

    Hi
when I try to push the installation of SCOM 2012 R2 agent through Console on windows server 2008 it always fails with this error:

    Hi,
As Ed already posted, check the firewall on the server where the agent installation fails. If you´ve turned off the firewall and It´s still failing to install, you need to talk to your network team about this isue since there might as well be a firewall
between the servers blocking the traffic.
A general recommendation in a heavily firewalled environment is to install the agents manually to make as few firewall openings as possible. Check this link for more information on what ports need tobe open in order for the installation to go through: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2007/12/12/agent-discovery-and-push-troubleshooting-in-opsmgr-2007.aspx

  • Oracle 10gR2 Grid Management Agents installation issues

I have downloaded the Grid Management Agent from the oracle downloads website and installed on one of my AIX servers but after running through the installation the server does not show up in Grid Control.
Our Grid Control is running on RH4 server.
The platform of host server i am attempting to install the agent on is AIX5.3
    I unzipped the following file
    AIX_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_3_0.zip
I ran the installer and it all seemed to work ok
I have checked the dbconsole is running,EMCTL STATUS DBCONSOLE
I have checked the agent is running EMCTL STATUS AGENT
I have checked the listener is running LSNRCTL STATUS
I have checked the database is up by CONNECT / AS SYSDBA
I can conect to the http://myserver:1158/em
The local enterprise manager works fine however as i say the server does not appear in my Grid Control console.
I have restarted al the afforementioned listeners, agents etc.
Can anyone give me a pointer as to why after what would appear to be a succesfull install the serevr does not appear in Grid Control console.

yingkuan again thanks for the reply
I have read the installation readme and it says i have these installation methods
1 - Methods for mass deployment
2 - Using Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) to install agent
    3 - silent installation
4 - NFS Mounted agent installation
I am running the runInstaller method (2) from the list above
Like i say i basically downloaded the following file from Oracle Downloads:
    AIX_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_3_0.zip
I FTP'd the file from my PC to the server i wish to be the agent.
I then ran the runInstaller from AIX_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_3_0/aix/agent/install.
However at no point was i asked to insert the OMS server or any other details.
I have read a couple of different readme files and followed what i believe to be the installation instructions. Could you or anyone else possibly throw any light on what i am doing wrong.
    again any assitance greatly appreciated

  • SCOM Agent "Installation Still In Progress"

I have a simple setup of SCOM 2007 on W2K8 with one RMS and two agents.  So three servers total, one is a DC (also 2K8) and the other a SQL Server (2K3 w/SQL 2K5), the remainder being the SCOM server itself.  All on same domain, subnet etc.
I am trying to deploy the agent through the Console and everything goes fine and I get a success in the deploy wizard except then there are still NO computers in the "Agent Managed" view.  Both are in "Pending Management".   Right clicking on them produces "Copy" and "Reject".  Both "Approve" and "Install Agent" are grayed out.  I have scoured the forums, internet etc.. for a resolution and most things point to firewall issues.  I have disabled firewall on both servers (SCOM and Agent) with no change in success.
What am I missing?  I have gone on both agent servers and the agent was installed successfully, the services are started but the following events are occuring on the agent:
    Event ID: 20070
The OpsMgr Connector connected to scom.int.netuitive.com, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occured.  The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the server, or the server has not received configuration.  Check the event log on the server for the presence of 20000 events, indicating that agents which are not approved are attempting to connect.
And on the server (to no suprise) are:
    Event ID: 20002
A device at IP x.x.x.x:58641 attempted to connect but could not be authenticated, and was rejected.
How can I resolve this issue?

We are also getting this exact issue, when attempting to install Agent on a 6th DC in a single domain. The domain has a 2 way trust with the management/SCOM domain.
We have tried everything, and ascertained that using certificates works however this should not be necessary. Every other one of the 5 DCs is reporting correctly in SCOM and the configuration across them are exactly the same.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
it looks like the network error I had in the past. Doe haave a firewall between Client and Proxy ?
Is your client connected to more than one network ? If so it can be helpful to use the -a option.
I would check firewall andd routing.

    Any thoughts.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi
Maybe try adding a rule to the firewall:
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="DPM Remote Agent Push" dir=in action=allow service=any enable=yes profile=any remoteip=<IPAddress>
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • VMM Agent Installation Issues (Was previously installed fine, now refuses to install (ends prematurely)

The VMM agent was installed on two Hyper-V host servers just fine (they were then removed temporarily from SCVMM), but trying to add the servers back into SCVMM it insisted the versions of the agents on the two hosts were unsupported (even though it
installed them) so it requested they were removed before retrying, after removing the agents it now refuses to install them and suggests installing them locally. Installing them on the local host manually just causes the installation to end prematurely.
    The firewall is completely disabled
    UAC is turned off
I have also tried running from elevated cmd using msiexec /I
    Any ideas??

    Hi,
Please refer below as it has some useful troubleshooting steps that might help you.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275
As you have tried from an elevated cmd, have you tried restarting Add Host job in VMM as the last step?
    http://networkerslog.blogspot.com/2013/07/unable-to-add-hyper-v-host-due-to.html
You can use PowerShell to reassociate the Host.

  • SCOM Agent Failover Issue

We have SCOM 2012 R2 with two Management server , around 200 agent reports to Ist Management server and 50 to management server 2. Once our management server 1 is down , agent reports to Management server 1 is not moved to MS2 , however agents still
shows health in MAnagement server 1 itself ? Any idea why?

    Hi 74KMS,
When an Agent is installed and configured to report to a Management Server, it is automatically configured to fail over to ANY other Management Servers. Failover behavior can be configured
via PowerShell scripts or AD Integration.  NOTE: Windows agents do NOT report to a resource pool in OpsMgr 2012

  • SCOM agent install fails Error 80070035 - the network path was not found

I have deployed SCOM 2012 agents to most servers (2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012R2) in our estate but some either fail to install or are not monitored. I assume the two problems are related, but for now I am concentrating on the servers that fail completely.
Installation is from the Discovery Wizard and I have about 20 servers that fail of various server versions.
So looking at one specific server that is failing to install the agent - a 2008 standard service pack 2
The firewall in on and file and printer sharing is enabled for domain, remote administration is enabled for domain
I added a specific rule to allow TCP 5723 and 5724
    DCOM is enabled
I can Ping the target server from the SCOM server by both name and FQDN - both return the same IP and our DNS server has only one entry for this server
I can browse to the admin share \\server\C$ from the SCOM Server, using the same account that I specify for the agent install that is a domain admin with rights on this server (and on the other servers the agent
did install to) and the server has plenty of disk space available
I am not sure what else to look at so would welcome any ideas
    Thanks

    Hi Petro,
I have a Agent installation failure cheat sheet, For your error 80070035 it is said to perform a manual installation.
So i would like to understand which version of SCOM is this ? 2007 R2 or 2012 or 2012 r2 ?
Also check if your agents have the WMI service started and enabled ?
Also if yours is a SCOM 2007 R2 do you have a RMS & MS in your management group ? If yes then Pushing the agent installation from MS may cause such issue. So would suggest you push the installation from RMS.
Also check if your Network connectivity meets the minimum requirement as recommended by SCOM. Below is applicable for Both SCOM 2007 R2 & SCOM 2012 & 2012 R2.
    Component A
    Component B
    Minimum Requirement
Root management server or management server
    Agent

Root management server or management server
    Agentless
    1024 Kbps
Root management server or management server

Also check if you have any Anti virus / Firewall which is blocking the install / communication. If yes disabe or add the "Monitoringhost.exe to the safe list or what your feature is.
Check if you have another IP assigned to the NIC card and remove it tempraurly andchecl.
Also post the event logs of the Agents which are in not monitored state for analysis.

This problem occurs if the LockFileTime.txt file is located in the following folder on the remote computer:
    %windir%\422C3AB1-32E0-4411-BF66-A84FEEFCC8E2
When you install or remove a management agent, the Operations Manager 2007 management server copies temporary files to the remote computer. One
of these files is named LockFileTime.txt. This lock file is intended to prevent another management server from performing a management agent installation at the same time as the current installation. If the management agent installation is unsuccessful and
if the management server loses connectivity with the remote computer, the temporary files may not be removed. Therefore, the LockFileTime.txt may remain in the folder on the remote computer. When the management server next tries to perform an agent installation,
the management server detects the lock file. Therefore, the management agent installation is unsuccessful.

  • SCOM agent communicating with server?

    Dear all,
After SCOM agent installation how that agent will start communicating with server? Is there any flowchart (like first how the communication will start , then when the MP will get download ..etc..)
    Thnaks,
    Sengottuvel M

    Hi,
The System Center Management Health service on each monitored agent collects performance data, executes tasks, and so on. Even when the service is unable to communicate with the management server it reports to, the service continues to run and queues the
collected data and events on the disk of the monitored computer. When the connection is restored, the System Center Management Health service sends collected data and events to the management server.

  • Installation Issues for Management Agent on AIX

I am having installation issues with Oracle Management Agent Install using OUI....
    I have done the following:
    i)     download AIX_Grid_Control_agent_download_10_2_0_1.zip to aix machine.
ii)     unzip , it creates aix directory.
iii)     unzip "oui_aix.jar " , which is available under aix/oui/
    iv)     pl unjar "oui_aix.jar " , ( jar -xvf oui_aix.jar )
    v)     set AGENT_HOME=/oracle/WD1/oem/
    vi)     chmod –R 777 * from /oracle/WD1/oem/
    vii)     invoke ./runInstaller from aix/oui/Disk1/
When I invoke runInstaller it asks me for Additional Management Service install but after first screen does check ask Oracle Home and then goes intsall OUI and never asks for OMS and OMS port etc..
Can I install the Management agent through OUI... What are the steps ?
    Thanks,
    Atul

I deinstalled the OUI and again re-installed.. but still I cannot get it working.. That is why I was looking that if somebody came accross the same issue... Why it does not ask the OMS page at all.. If some body has installed Management Agent on AIX through OUI pl. respond.
    Thanks
    Atul
