SCOM APM -no performance data for applications

hello all,
we recently setup scom 2012 and APM.
tried to find .net apps on one web server.
initially none of the apps were discovered, so we found that none of the websites are having .aspx file in their respective root dir. after creating dummy .aspx file in each root dir, webapps got discovered and we can add them in .net apm wizard.
now, we are not able to see any perf data from any of the apps, we have used all default config/settings.
not sure how to debug, can someone please help.

Peter, it can be multiple things, i.e.:
you application might be crashing on its own with some unhandled exception, bringing down the application pool, and/or regular 'limits' (time/resources) set in IIS might be causing the app pool to shutdown and restart. That could be why you see a start event
(4003) and then stop events (1111). As for the amount of alerts/events... throttling might also kick in so you don't see always new events for the same issue. See I discussed some settings around throttling here

OR it might also be that something is crashing in the Apm code while profiling a specific part of your application - but to determine IF this is the case and how to address it, escalating thru a formal support channel might be best, and you
would probably need to enable verbose traces and take process dumps to see what's happening that causes the application pools shut down...

I keep getting the above error on all my SQL 2012 deployments (standard and enterprise) on all Windows Server 2012 Standard machines. I have already tried the following commands in administrator mode to resolve without success:

According to your description, we need to verify when the error occurs, and if when the error happen, your SQL Server does not work, right ? If yes, we need to you help us to collect the detailed error log in SQL Server management Studio (SSMS). Please refer
to the following steps for collecting the error log.
In SSMS, expand Management, and SQL Server Logs, then
right-click a log and click View SQL Server Log.
If the SQL Server can run well, there are some error on Windows Server service, I recommend you post the question on the Windows Server General Forum(http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winservergen
) , It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
In addition, about Event ID 1008, you may need to reload the
performance library when it is not properly initialized during installation. Then you can use Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor to verify that performance counters are properly collected and displayed in a Performance Monitor graph. For

How to get performance data out of SCOM and into a 3rd party management tool

Hi
I am creating an integration between a 3rd party management tool and System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2. I need to export performance data from SCOM into our application for both HyperV servers and virtual machines. Our application runs on
linux so I cannot do any .NET programming.
What is the best way to do this? I am aware of using the Usage SPF web service but this will not share performance data for the hyperv servers, just the virtual machines .

We can use SQL query to get SCOM data out, but about how to send those data into your application, this should be related with how you develop your application.

One performance view for two classes, possible?

Hi there,
My system is still running 2007 R2. I am writing a MP now which contains two classes. There are few performance collection rules targeting those two classes. I want to create one performance view to display performance data for BOTH classes. Is it possible?
I already created an instance group and added both classes as member of the group. By using the group, I can created one alert view to display alerts from either class. Can I use the same trick for the performance view? Thanks!

In addition, we also can add a dashboard view with two columns for the two classes, and add performance widget for each column.

AP Payment User Responsbility's Data Group to be assigned for application as Payables or Payments?

Hi,
I am in version R12.1.3 . I have a requirement to create a user who must have access only to create payments in AP module.So when i try to define a responsibility for this payment user
there is a data group to be assigned. In this data group block for application there are 2 options i.e Payables & Payments? What should I select & what is the difference of selection one over the other?

i did not see any difference .... I performed a test case, where i created a payment using the new responsibility i have created having data group application as Payments, the payment was successful ... Later i have modified the data group for this new responsibility from payments to payables, then the test payment i have made was also successful....
Not sure about its impact, may be i am having responsibilities which has full access, hence i cannot see the difference in my environment ....

Report/Widget for combined performance data

Hello.
I have created a dashboard view in SCOM 2012 R2 for power consumption of a number of servers. These servers are all part of a group. The power consists of a couple of different performance monitors (VMWare-sensor for VMs and Power Meter from the Power
Consumption MP)
The dashboard view works well, however I am after a total figure for each server in the group. Ideally this figure would be on the dashboard view as well.
E.g. if I have 3 servers with the below power draw
Server 1 – 150 Watts
Server 2 – 200 Watts
Server 3 – 300 Watts
I would like a box stating total power 650 Watts
If this is not available in a dashboard view, a report would be okay

As far as I know, there is no direct way, you may create a sql query and sum the value for each server.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that some of your applications are not appearing under Settings > Cellular on your iPhone so that you can restrict or allow use of cellular data. If you have some installed applications on your iPhone that are not showing here, the first troubleshooting step I would suggest would be to reset your iPhone. Please refer to the attached article for information on how to perform a reset.

RFC's for SAP Performance data

I am in the process of developing a Performance Monitoring System for SAP in Java.
The requirement is to fetch the performance metrics from SAP in a Java application. I know there are some RFC's available in CCMS module. But the customer is not interested in CCMS module.
Could anyone let me know whether there are any RFC's available in SAP for extracting performance data other than CCMS?
If anyone had come across this situation, please let me know.

there are severam methods for estimating av. response time after the upgrade, for the beginning you coud try to estimate
hardware (cpu, memory, disks) just to keep those resp. times on the same level. Use the followin notes:
089305, 0113795, 0178616, 517085 .... until you get note for your target release
then you have to add all deltas, and you will know the whole delta between releases.
For the first estmation of time change you can count it by using coeffition as deltas, example delta cpu = X
resp. time after upgrade = X * current resp. time
This formula gives you only impresion on resp. time, not precisse measure. Better calculation is simply
by calculating current system in saps, than using delta (for cpu) You can estimate required number of saps for target release, and X=req. SAPS for target/ current SAPS (btw. take for the estimation number of SAPS for current HW target release only, don't use the number of SAPS for 46C!), and again:
after upgrade = X * current resp. time
Please remember, thera are much better ways to estimate res. times, but it means detailed analysis of the system load, it can't be given as gold rule

I suppose your problem was solved in the meanwhile.
Anyway we had the same issue, when running Validations against ICMatching App.
That was because Method VALIDATION of Class CL_UJP_VALIDATE tries to relevant data in order to perform calculations (line 127), but if no data is found, ends raising an exception (with a misleading text line 143).

SCOM - Available Megabytes performance report is showing exponential data

We are running the performance report for counter 'Available Megabytes MB' in SCOM 2012 and it showing
Min and Max value in exponential format and not the correct format like in numbers.
Pls see the attached screen shot and suggest how to get the data in correct format of whole numbers in MB.

the value is not exponential format it is in scientific notation.
There's no option to change the scientific notation to real value. Unfortunately when SCOM reports encounter large numbrs they are displayed this way. Makes them less friendly, unless you're a math major.The problem is the field wasn't designed to hold many
characters. These values should be rounded in the report definition, but in many cases they are not.

How to do?
So,how to export each ~5 min. live some data what I need from SCOM, that I can operate?
excemple- I have php page, there I can do few important server list. If something will happpening (service crashing), when that row about server in red or other visual action.
Maybe there is other option for this situation, not only view in SCOM diagram view?

SQLJ for Data Intensive Application?

Hi!
I am thinking about writing a program that is very data-intensive data-mining application. It will process millions of records where each record is a 80 byte character. I will need to do a lot of comparisons and sub-string operations. I wonder if anyone out here has done some similar project in Java before. Any information would help. I am particularly interested in looking for information pertain to reading all data into memory for Java processing. Also, should I use PL/SQL or Oracle C instead?

it depends what you mean by "millions" of (80 byte)records
if you mean about 5 million, then you will be dealing with 400 Megs or info at one time, and if you have a fancy computer with a whole bunch of ram you probably won't have any problem just loading all the info into ram at once. but if your talking 200 million well then you will probably have some redesigning to do.
Other then that the processing time really just depends on what you are doing to the data, and since you haven't been specific about it it is hard to tell how the performance of your program will be.

No data in Application failure Analysis report for a particular application alone.

Is there any error message when you run Application Failure Analysis report for the specific application?
Does this application have any failure alerts?
You may also look into operation manager even logs to check is there any errors or warnings.

Lightroom Mobile is not a cloud storage service. You shouldn't treat it as a way of backing up your files. You are merely storing Smart Previews of your files in the cloud space, high-quality JPEGs of your files regardless of their original format on your desktop. The point is that they are there so you can continue editing them in a Lightroom-like environment even while away from your desktop/laptop computer. The files in Lightroom Mobile can only be used in Lightroom Mobile.
This is very different from what is offered by the Creative Cloud storage, which can be used to synchronize your files between any device (that can support the individual files).
The vast difference in how each service works and its intended use is why they are separate.

How do I perform a trigger that collect the data for every rising edge continuously and then automatically put the data in a .xls file??

I need to collect the data for every rising edge a trigger perfoms. So far I could collect the data but it seems that it only collect the data in the start of triggering, but not continuously. I also want to put the data in an excel spreadsheet and automatically add new set of data when the next rising edge occur. Please help.

LabWindows/CVI actually ships with a comprehensive set of examples for just about every area of programming you can use it in, including triggered analog data acquisition and ActiveX control of Microsoft Excel for data logging. Go to the following two directories on your computer to find respective examples for the two areas you are inquiring about:
1) C:\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\DAQ\Ai\DAQsingleBufExtTrig.PRJ
2) C:\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\activex\excel\excel2000dem.prj
Just make sure to study the examples carefully so that you fully understand the processes followed for triggered analog acquisition and the process of launching an ActiveX automation server for control, and then you should be able to merge the concepts shown in both of the example
s to make the application you desire.
