SCOM Console Monitoring on Client Desktops

Hi,
Has anyone configured SCOM console monitoring on client desktops?
The SCOM console goes to Not Responding state or takes time to load Monitoring View.I want to set monitoring for the same.

    Hello Experts,
    We are using scom 2012 and monitoring around 10000 agents in our environment.  Now Windows team decomissioned around 1000 server/clients and we need to remove those agents(grayed agents) from console.
    It is very difficult to find and delete the agent one by one.  Is there any script to remove/delete the agent from console?

    In addition,several ways to remove SCOM agent if SCOM console fails.
    1. Add/Remove Programs (appwiz.cpl)
    2. Run (MsiExec.exe /uninstall {E7600A9C-6782-4221-984E-AB89C780DC2D} /quiet)
    3. psexec -d MsiExec.exe /uninstall {E7600A9C-6782-4221-984E-AB89C780DC2D} /quiet *

  • SCOM 2012 Monitoring of windows based service

    Hi,
    Here my requiremt is to monitoring windows based service in scom 2012. The agent server is a windows based machine and I need to monitor these service, once they are in stopped state or in starting state. The server state is ahowing healthy.
    Could someone pls guide me or share me the details for configure a wondows based service in scom for monitoring.

    Hi,
    Please follow the steps below:
    1. Under Authoring console, right click Monitors, then choose create a Monitor, select Unit monitor.
    2. With the Create a Unit Monitor Wizard, we select Basic Service Monitor under Windows Services.
    3. Choose the destinaton management pack to store the monitor. Click Next.
    4. Specify the monitor name, and choose Monitor target class, such as Windows Operation System. Click Next.
    5. Then select Service that you want to monitor, we can specify the computer name, and then find the service under the computer. Click Next.
    6. Configure Health and Configure Alert.

  • Management console monitor logs disapear ?

    Has anybody experimented an issue with the management console monitor logs disapearing  ?
    I believe that it might be related to the repository table containing the logs ... has anybody an other idea ?

  • Web dynpro console - monitor - JCO Connection pools

    If you go to the web dynpro console -> monitor -> JCO connection pools you see a table with information.
    JCo Clients MonitorJCO Pools - 12:31:02.992
      Name Size Currently used Maximum used Max.connections Max.pool size
    Can somebody explain what for example the "Size" and "Maximum used" mean in this table?
    And if you have set max.pool size to 20, what things can override this setting in the SAP system?

  • SCOM Console: Override display is not valid when Windows7 display is 'large'

    Hi. I changed my Windows 7 display to large font (150%) and then found that if I tried to overrride a rule for an object in SCOM 2012 console I got a weird display, nothing like the usual one. When I changed my display to medium (125%) the override
    displays correctly.
    I thought I'd post this because I spent a while deleting profiles, re-installing SCOM console etc. before I figured it out. Might help someone else...

    Same issue here. I'm afraid this is by design.
    Only thing you can do is change your font size back to 100% and change your display resolution or open a remote desktop connection into a SCOM management server and work from there.

  • Multiple copies of the same alert on SCOM console

    We have an Oracle EM Grid Control 11.1.0.1 installation and the SCOM connector is configured to send alerts to a SCOM 2007 R2 system.
    We note that every alert from OEM appears on the SCOM console 5 times (a minute late with each other), we suspect that the SCOM connector do not receive any confirmation from SCOM and re-send the same msg many times.
    We would like to solve the communication problem or find any setting for not re-send any alert 5 times to SCOM.

  • Place a script on client desktops

    We are looking to see if there is anyway way to push a script down to client desktops after a user logs in, we use a script to allow all of our clients to connect to a Windows shared location, but would like to know a way to put it on their desktops besides using the English.lproj folder, or if there was anyway that we could have the computer actually mount the drive and show it on the desktop that would be wonderful. We have looked around a bit but cannot seem to find anyway to do this.

    If you are trying to get an volume to automount, why not just use MCX and manage a login item? You said the computers are bound, so the assumption is the users and groups and computers are on the OD system. If this is the case, select a group or a user and go to Preferences in WGM. When the pane comes up choose Login. Click on the Items tab and set it to manage always. Then, drag the share to the list box and check the "authenticate selected share point with user's login name and password." If you run WGM from a managed workstation this is easier. But you can do this from the server. You just need to hand edit the key from the all records inspector.
    Now, if you really want to update stuff on the server, you need a little scripting work. First you need to deliver the payload to all stations and then execute a local script to place the content were you want. This is because all home folder paths are unique and it is possible to have more than one user per machine. Follow these steps as a framework.
    1: Gather the payload and use the Copy Items part of ARD to send the files over to a generic location on all workstations. /tmp is a good location and I've used /tmp/ARDpush as the example.
    2: Once the files are copied, use the script example below and send it to /tmp and then execute the script using the send unix command. Basically, you path it as /tmp/script.sh and set the user to root so you can get into the user home folders.
    And that should do it. Items in tmp should be deleted on reboot so this is self cleaning. Here is a simple framework script. It is a simple script that identifies non-system users. If you have a default admin on the machine (and we all should), then the value is > 501 so we exclude the initial admin. If you need the changes on the admin account, then set > to 500. This works for OD and AD users since their UIDs are either > 1025 or > 1000000000.
    I also used dscl as this should work on everything since 10.4. I have NOT tested this on 10.4 so keep that in mind. If you are still supporting 10.3, then dscl will need to be replaced with niutil.

    Cables made by different manufacturers may deliver different results but the shorter cables say under 15" should produce the same quality signals.  HDMI has different specifications for the different version levels.
    I have yet to see any difference in picture quality between DVI-D and HDMI with a resolution of 1920 by 1080. If the color depth is greater than 24 bits using DVI then need to use DVI dual link to keep up with HDMI.

  • Two hiearchies in consol monitor. Do we need two data extraction?

    When we have two hierarchies in the console monitor where one consolidation unit appears on both hierarchies, should we do extraction of reported financial data for same consildation unit in both the hierachies?. Won't the data get duplicated?
    Example: In consol monitor
    1. Regional Hierachy: Europe-->Paris Company
                                                       UK Company
                                                       Belgium Company
    2: Product Hierarchy: Food and Beverages--> UK Company
                                                                              Philippines Company
    In this scenario the UK company is present in two hierarchies. Should we do data extraction in both the hierarchy? Won't the data get duplicated? Should we do consolidation fuctions at two hierarchy level?

    Hi,
    The answer is NO to all your questions provided that we do not talk about matrix consolidation.
    In the plain (not matrix) consolidation all entries are done simultaneously for all hierarchies of ConsUnits. It's still a huge advantage of SEM-BCS comparing with the other products, like SAP BO FC or SAP BPC. In other words, if to treat different hierarchies of ConsUnits as different perimeters of consolidation, then SEM-BCS works with all perimiters at once, while other apllications cannot do  it.
    P.S. All said above is true if you run tasks from the higher level of one of the hierarchies. Certainly, you may do it for a particular hierarchy node or even a single ConsUnit. But, anyway, no duplication of running tasks is needed.

  • 1 SAP Console for 2 clients (on the same system)

    We are merging two business units on 1 SAP system. In the beginning they will both have their own client on the same system.
    Within both BU's SAP Console is being used. Can we use one SAP Console for both clients?
    Or are separate SAP Consoles needed?
    If it is possible to use 1 SAP Console, please let me know how (what to do).

    Instead of read-only access to each other's iTunes directories, I followed instructions posted elsewhere on this forum and have ITunes in both accounts pointing to the same physical file. From my account, I can see all the songs, both the ones loaded from CDs and the ones downloaded from ITunes (using my ITunes account). From her account, she can see the songs I loaded from CD, but not any of the songs I've downloaded.
    If I share my ITunes library, then she can open the shared file and see all of the songs, downloaded as well as those from CDs. However, if she selects any of the downloaded songs, she cannot put them into playlists or otherwise copy them to her IPod.
    She doesn't have an ITunes account. Her ITunes is set up to use my account and is one of the two authorized "Computers" for my account. I thought that going into ITunes and authorizing my ITunes-account would have solved the problem, but it doesn't.
    I'm running the latest ITunes (Macintosh) software, version 7.0 (7.0).

    If you want to get changes made to the client settings daily then please create a variant in the report RSTBHIST for the table T000.In the variant use the dynamic selection for the data filed so that you get data for the current date only.This report is for displaying table change documents.Schedule a job for the variant/job combination.
    If you want to get all the details  then schedule a job for the report /1BCDWB/DBT000. No need to create a variant. This report when executed gives SE16 view of the table T000.
    You can direct the spool of the jobs to your mailbox.
