Score when printed on canon ip4000 computer all out of alignment

same in pdf--- all accents, slurs, rests, notes, not aligned---tried new printer driver---if I send the file to a friend it prints fine on his computer---what up?

Sounds to me like a fonts issue - check that all your Mac fonts are not corrupted or doubled - sometimes when they are they have a little black dot next to them.

  • Color wrong when printing to Canon i9950 from CS5 apps and Acrobat, Win7 x64

When printing from InDesign CS5 on Win 7 x64 to Canon i9950 using the  Canon ICM profiles (MP1, PR1, PR2, SP1) the colour output is completely  wrong!
I disable the printer driver in the print prefs  (set to "manual") and under "color management" choose "Let InDesign  decide..." (no other option) for "color handling", and choose one of the  above profiles for "printer profile", as appropriate to the paper in  the printer, and the colours are totally out of whack.
If  I just set the output "printer profile" to "Adobe RGB (1998)" the  output is much better, but of course it still isn't quite correct, or  properly set for the individual substrates, which the Canon ICMs are  supposed to do.
Interestingly, when setting output to the  Canon profiles, it makes no difference whether the printer manages  colour (auto) or not (manual). Also, strangely, these profiles were  working fine with CS4, before installing CS5, but now they are not  working in CS4 either!
So now "colour management" is a joke thanks to CS5.

You might check with Canon to see if they've prepared any updated printer drivers you can download and install.
Scout around this forum, a number of folks have reported certain Epson models with similar issues.  Feedback from Adobe was that they've switched to newer printer interfaces under the covers, and not all printer drivers work properly with those interfaces.  In one case at least a new printer had to be purchased to fix the problem.

  • When printing playlists the writing is all compressed ?

When printing playlist the writing is compressed & completly unreadable ?

    Hi sherrie1949,
Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Firefox prints incorrectly]]? There is some good troubleshooting information in there. I would suggest that you try resetting your print settings.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • I am unable to print. Preview shows a blank page and it is blank when printed. I've tried all of the suggestions here. Any other ideas?

When receiving an email that I wish to print, nothing prints. The Preview shows a blank page and it is, in fact, blank when printed.

  • When I turn on my computer all it does is click, whats wrong?

When I turn on my computer itnjust goes to a blank white screen and clicks the same rhythm over over again.

Possibly a failed hard drive. Are you able to do this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Printing to Canon iP4000 after 10.3 - 10.4 upgrade works

I got a new Canon PIXMA iP4000 printer and connected it to my Airport Extreme Base Station.
I downloaded and installed the 2.6.2 drivers from Canon's site on my iMac (upgrades from 10.3 to 10.4). When I tried to add the printer, using the Printer Setup Utility, it would not automatically select my printer driver. Only a list of GIMP drivers would appear for Canon.
I download the latest Canon printer drivers and Bonjour for Windows onto my Windows XP ThinkPad. Installed them both and printing worked flawlessly. I was glad, but not to happy about my Mac.
Next I installed the Canon drivers on my new iBook which came preloaded with 10.4. The printer setup utility found the printer and it's driver just fine and printing worked fine.
I then compared my iBook's /Library/Printers/Canon directory to the same directory on the iMac. There were not a 100% match, and the timestamps on the files did not match up at all. I crossed my fingers and deleted the Canon folder, then reinstalled the Canon driver I downloaded, and rebooted.
This time the Printer Setup Utility found the driver for the Canon and printing works fine now!

Nevermind. I discovered the problem was not properly closing the inner cover of the printer when I changed one of the ink cartridges. It had nothing to do with the recent upgrade in the system software..

  • Preview quits Unexspectedly (EF PLUG-IN) when printing to Canon Ir - Adv C5030-b1 Ps V1.0

    Three of our customers Mac's have been upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.5 and since the upgrade they cannot print from Preview to the Canon Ir - Adv C5030-b1 PS V1.0. They constantly recieve the error message noted in the title and then Preview quits. I have tried the following possible fix online to no avail;
"Click on "Go" > "Applications" > Right click "Preview" and select "Get Info". Expand "General" And if "Open in 32-bit mode" is checked , uncheck it"
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as this has been an ongoing issue for a couple of weeks now. I have also logged a call with Canon support in case this issues is specific to their driver software.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Ok so we bought an ipodtouch for my daughter and when she connected to the computer all of a sudden she lost all her pics and she can no longer connect to the app store on  her ipod.. any suggestions why and what can be done?

ok so we bought an ipod touch for my daughter and when she connected it to the computer after she downloaded itunes, she was asked if it was her ipod or a new one, so she clicked on her ipod and lost all her recent pics plus is unable to locate the app store on her safari on her ipod touch. any suggestions as to what went wrong or what should be done ? should we restore or what?
much appreciated if there is anyone else who had this happen to them.

    - The iPod got erased since it sounds iTunes identified that the iPod has been synced with another computer and she said yes to making this computer her syncing computer. It could also she restored the iPod from the backup of another iPod, iPhone or iPad that was in iTunes. If in iTunes you go to Preferences>Devices is there a backup listed for her iPod with a date/time when she first connected the iPod to the computer. If so then restore the iPod from that backup.
    iOS: How to back up
Note synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup,
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Regarding the App store. The App store is not in Safari. It is a separate app. Also, could the Apple store be hidden by Restrictions? Settings>General>Restrictions. Further, can you find the App store via the Spotlight search on the iPod?

  • When i turn on my computer, all i see is a white screen.

well, after hours of searches I couldn't find any problem similar to mine. I am not really smart when it comes to computer software and all that but I will try my best to describe my computer and its problem. Ok, I have a Compaq windows
7 home premium OA. if you need more info on the computer just tell me and I will try my best to find it. so every time I turn on my laptop the screen is just white and I can hear the computer working normally (the fan is on, there's the boot up sound etc.)
so  I was just wondering if any of you guys had any suggestion on what the problem is.

Little bit of google can give you an idea : https://www.google.com/#q=white+screen+login+windows+7

  • Margin problem when printing with canon printer

When I try to print a pages document on my canon pixma ip4500 printer (which they sold me at the apple store when i bought the laptop), the bottom margin does not appear. There is a space only about half an inch under the last line of text. Everything looks fine on the screen, but i cant get to print it with a bottom margin. and i don't even know how to set it manually...
ps, the printer isnt set for a 8 1/2 by 14 sheet, it really is for a 8 1/2 by 11
    Help me please!

That’s going to depend on what the document consists of. If it’s a single element such as a graphic or PDF, reduce the size. If it’s text, you can use a smaller point size, slightly reduce paragraph spacing, make a headline smaller, etc. If it’s text and graphic, reduce the size of the graphic(s) a little. But first, set your document margins to agree with your printer margins.

  • Choosing the paper type when Printing to Canon S9000

How do I choose the paper-type setting from the print options menu?
The Canon OS X manual speaks about a pull down menu which allows for selection of "quality and media."
I am finding options for printer choice, rendering, layout, print image etc, but nothing that allows me to choice glossy photo paper vs. matte, et al.
I have also downloaded a canon software update without noticeable difference.
Am I missing something obvious here?
    Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I am accessing the print menu and subsequent options, but what I see is a window in which the correct printer is selected then below it is a section for choosing layout, then one for margins, rendering, image adjustments, image options. Everything but quality and media.
If I futz around in I Photo I do see a limited paper choice option from a pull down, so I assume I am still missing something in Aperture itself.
    Thanks.

  • Red Color Cast when printing with Canon Pixma Pro 9000

My printer is giving me a horrible red color cast after the latest software update. The color cast can also be seen in Preview and in the print window. No changes to drivers have been made. Printer worked fine before the update.
Has anyone else found this problem and offered a solution?

    You may find it helpful.
Thanks, but if you look in the archives of the Apple ColorSync Users List, you'll find thousands of posts from his Mac dating back to the beginning of the List.
The principle is that you configure your device colour spaces to the largest gamut of which they are capable, calibrate them to a stable condition, characterise that condition in a measured test chart, and build ICC device profiles for those characterisations in your ICC profiling package of choice.
You then capture and correct colour with correct colour previews, resulting in normalised exposures in an ideal CIE colour space. With you normalised exposures, you convert into output condition 1, output condition 2, output condition n which is what repurposing is about.
But you do no apply a gamma change on top of the colour managed rendering. That is incorrect by definition. You apply your gamma change as part of the colour correction in order to get your normalised exposure.
If you imagine this in a prepress process, then you can forget the concept of determinate rendering which is the bedrock of the ICC architecture. If you as photographer do a gamma correction on top of your presentation print or proof print, then you can claim that you have a presentation print, but you cannot contractually claim that you have a proof print as your proof print is a colour correction on top of the colour management system. If Apple Aperture allows the user access to colour correction on top of colour management, then that is a bug in the application. Sorry ...

  • Printing to a shared printer on an XP computer times out

    Hello!
I just got a mac and so far I love it! It connected to our wireless network just fine. However, I'm struggling to get it to print. The printer is an HP1317psc (all in one) printer, connected via USB to a Windows XP machine and shared on the network. All PCs can print to it just fine. Network has a wireless router.
The mac couldn't find the printer - ended up adding it manually as an SMB device - and it can now print, apparently. It prints quite fast (it's wireless), and the print gets to the queue - but not all of it. I sent an 1mb photo, and it stopped at 16k. I can't then delete it out of the queue (it says "Guest" sent it) and have to reboot the PC just to clear the queue. It disappears from the Mac's queue.
I have managed to connect to shared folders on the PC, so there is definitely connectivity there.
Any suggestions? Is there a timeout setting I need to tweak, perhaps? It's almost as if the mac is printing too fast for the PC to cope...

    steelbreeze23,
Check with HP on this problem. I have a friend who has a Mac and a wireless all-in-one HP printer. He contacted HP and found that the wireless feature (at least on his model) is not supported for Macs and he had to connect via USB to print correctly. Now this was two years ago so your model may be newer..but this sounds more printer related than network.
