Scores created in some older versions of Logic don't open legibly on Macpro

I have not been able to open certain scores in their original, edited and printable format since i got my MacPro G5. I get a long line (not page veiw) of strangly formated notes continuing on into dark background and cannot toggle int page view. Quite a drag cause i have hundreds of such scores I need to access.

This is a known problem with MacPros and Logic. Do a search on this forum for similar posts, see if anyone has offered a workaround. AFAIK Apple has not issued a fix for this problem, even though people have been posting about this for months.

This was created on an older version and is unable to open.

I create a Keynote on my Macbook Pro using the latest version of Keynote.
I save it to Dropbox.
ON MY iPAD: I download the Keynote on Dropbox and then select 'Open In Keynote'. I then get the message that the Keynote cannot be opened due to it being created with an older version. However, ALL versions of Keynote are fully up to date!
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Are you sure it was created in the last version of Keynote ('09) and not an older version? I've had no problems with opening them on the iPad in the new Keynote version. I also used to Dropbox route.
I did have issues with some old documents which were created in (even) older versions of Keynote/Numbers. In that case i could solve it by opening them in Keynote/Number '09, save them and then open them in Keynote 6.

What do you do with older versions of Logic?

I have owned Logic back since Platinum 6, and now i have that version and 6 Pro just sitting around, in their massive boxes with those bible sized reference manuals. I'd like to get rid of them somehow but after checking with ebay, I don't think selling old software is a hot commodity. Plus, it seems complicated, with all the registration and XS key stuff.
So just wondering what other people here do with their older versions of Logic (or older versions of any other music software) for that matter. It's just taking up a lot of space...

To authorise stuff on your XSkey, you type in your authorisation codes for whatever product it is, and it gets stored on the key. One XSkey has an individual serial number, and your authorised products are keyed to that serial number.
I got mine with Logic 5, then aadded the ES1 and EXS24 to it, then got a free Mac 5 authorisation when LPC was dropped which got stored on it, then the Logic 6 Pro upgrade which got stored on it, and then the Logic 7 Pro upgrade, and it also authorises Waveburner and SoundDiver.

Hi all,
I got the message "FRM-40011 Form was created
by an older version of form builder" when I created a
form using form6i without the patch and ran it on 9iAS
Rrelease 2. So I applied patch 10 and compiled the
form and ran it again. But I still get the same error.
What am I missing?
Our 9iAs is on Win 2000 SP2(if it matters).

Hi,
if this problem occurs on teh Web, then the message normally is "Forms client" too old, which points to that the f60all.jar files used are not compatible with the patch version of the Forms Services. To fix this you would have to replavce f60all.jar with the version of the patch installed on teh server. Also clear the Jinitiator cache directory on the client (which must not be necessary).
Normally here is no difference between a Forms6i file created with the base release vs. one create with a patch set. So the problem must be in the configuration of your environmnet and my bet would be as mentioned above.

IWeb problem viewing on some older versions of IE

I hope someone can help. I just published my iWeb site. I'm using version 2.0.2.
It seems that the page appears broken on some older versions of IE using Windows or it doesn't load at all.
Also I uploaded some changes and when I view it on my Mac using Safari I don't see the changes but other people using Windows can.
I'm curious how it looks on other Macs using Safari. www.prizerphoto.com

To view changes after uploading, click "Empty Cache..." in the "Safari" drop down menu before visiting your site.
Due to the number of images, your website will be hard to download in the latest version of IE. Older versions will have no chance!
To help get your site to download in the WWB (World's Worst Browser) you have to optimize your files.
Pay particular attention to the size of your photo files.

Older version of After Effects to open old file?

I have tons of projects in After Effects 6. One of the reasons I joined Adobe Cloud was because I want to update to OSX Mountain Lion and AE6 won't run on ML. I just attempted to open one of my old projects, and get the error message "This file was created with an older version of After Effects [6.0(Macintosh PPC)], and can't be opened. You can convert this file using an older version of After Effects and resaving." Well, I only have access to my copy of AE6, is it possible through the Adobe Cloud to get a version of After Effects that will open these files so I can up-convert it? Or any other method to get these files to open in the newest version of AE? Re-building is not really an option, these are projects that are years old and are continually being updated with text.

It's a matter of testing resources. If we were to allow After Effects CS6 (11.0) to read files all the way back to version 1.0, then we'd have to test opening of files for every version all the way back to 1.0, making sure that every feature worked and was converted correctly. This is an immense amount of testing. We have determined that going back five versions (to 7.0) is enough to satisfy nearly everyone's needs---especially since the few people who still need to convert files from even earlier versions have the workaround of doing a two-step conversion process by way of After Effects CS4, CS5, et cetera. We spend the time that we save on testing other features that we expect that far more people will use. That is the nature of software development with finite resources.

Acrobat 9 create pdfs that older versions of reader can open

I use Acrobat to create pdfs for my classes. This session, many of my students can not open the pdfs that I created with Acrobat 9. This is especially true of students with older Operating systems and older versions of reader. Is there a way that I can create pdfs in Acrobat 9 that these older readers can open?

You should be able to set the backward compatibility in the Adobe PDF printer. There is a setting for the version there.

ever since I downloaded the newest version of Firefox, my Dragon NaturallySpeaking hasn't been working very well. For example, I will say "click register" or "click contact us" to select links and buttons on websites. I deinstalled accidently support parts for my itunes, went to use it , failed, diinstalled itunes and reinstalled it, now i get a message saying itunes cannot wokr because it was created with an older version. what can i do?

I backed up my iPhoto Library to an external drive even though it looked way to small to hold all my photos. I have tried several times to open iPhoto whilst depressing the option and command keys but get the same message again:
"The photo library was created with an unreleased version of iphoto. Please quit and upgrade this photo library by opening it in iphoto 2 or iphoto 4" Behind this, the little wheel is turning and it says "Loading Photos" (but it doesn't).

How to delete R&R files created by an older version?

Before I upgraded from Vista to Win 7, I created a R&R backup file on my external USB drive, but since that version of R&R (I can not remeber the exact version) is not compatiable with Win 7, I had to install the ver 4.3.1 after the upgrade; however, when I try to check the R&R file, the 4.3.1 R&R does not recognize the file created by the previous version. I have read a few posts and it seems to be a common problem, but all I want to do right now is just to delete the backup file so I can free about 80GB space, so can someone help me?

How do I get the current Itunes for MacBook when the reply is that it was created from a later version? I can't open iTunes or run the software inside it? Even the downloaded version will not function.

If you've tried to install and older version of iTunes then it means exactly what it says, otherwise that message sometimes indicates a corrupt library file...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library (.itl) files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Ever since I downloaded the latest FIREFOX websites and pages take a long time to open and some of my online games don't open up correctly. Can I go back to the previous version ?

It takes awhile for anything/everything to load after I click on it when I'm online. It will freeze up about every 3 to 5 minutes for approx. 5 to 10 seconds at random. Some of my games will not load correctly on when I'm on "KING.com". This problem does NOT occur when I use "Internet Explorer" Can I go back to a earlier version of FIREFOX ?

I have looked at the link above and found it far too confusing and no mention anywhere of this network.http.max-connections. Any chance someone could do this for me, please? At the moment I am having to use a different browser to play games on King.com is this what Mozilla want? I feel quite let down and wish I not made the upgrade from the 3 version to the 9.
