Scoring and audio post for a 24 fps cartoon

I am scoring and doing audio post for an animated cartoon for tv.
Ive been given a 24fps (not 23.98) .mov edited in and outputted from final cut pro. its a cartoon and they edit and create in 24fps.
The editor also provided my with dialog tracks of each character in aiff format. outputted from fcp.
However when i bring in the .mov (my project set to 24fps) the dialog is out of sync by a number of frames. I have tried setting the sync to internal and external and both do not help.
Has anyone worked with 24fps .mov's and have experience with this?
when i convert the .mov to a dv stream in quicktime the dialog syncs up but they have trouble (obviously) when they lay it back (the mix) in fcp.
any help or advice with this or the workflow would be huge? the editor is open to trying anything.

if you have a the .mov from final cut pro, then you should use that played back internally with logic and quicktime. quicktime and logic will support 24 fps frame rates, but your dv video card most likely will not.
if the editor provided you with audio seperately, then you will have to sync them manually since the beginning of the fcp project and the beginning of the logic project may not be the same.
if you have converted the mov to dv, it may not compensate for the extra frame per second you have with dv. i would have thought that would be problematic. if you are playing back video at 25 fps that should be 24 fps then you will of course have syncing issues.
if you do not already have one, i would recommend getting a second monitor to playback the video on. have you got BITC (burnt in timecode) that has to be your absolute frame of reference.
you CAN work at 25 fps with a project that has been shot at 24, and in fact that is how it is generally (or at least it used to be) done. when it is telecined, the 24 fps are very cleverly averaged. i don't know how they do it but the image is immaculate. it is then edited at 25 fps, the sound is worked on at 25 fps, but it is eventaully laid back on to film that will play back at 24 fps. after all a second is a second.
you can get a playout of fcp onto VHS PAL or NTSC then you can work at those frame rates although there will inevitably be drift, which is why your BITC is so crucial. its generally ok for composers because the work is fragmented into bite size chunks where drift is negligible. if you are doing audio post as well i would recommend sticking to 24 fps and playing back internally.
