SCORM Manifest Information Shows in LMS

We are uploading courses to our LMS (Cornerstone). When we launch the file, there is a section to the right of the actual course that appears to show information from the SCORM manifest file.
I have not been able to figure out if this is something I can turn off from either Captivate or from Cornerstone, but I know we don't want it to show (it looks messy, and takes up a lot of the screen).

I'm coming back to this issue after a few months because it is seriously impacting a project I am trying to publish for a client.
If I publish as SCORM 2004, I get the screen pictured above.
If I show the TOC with a customized skin (via Captivate), I get the screen shown to the right. (TOC is pretty from Captivate, but I still get the extra window at the left.)
If I publish as SCORM 1.2, the extra window goes away, but I lose Seamless Tabbing, which completely screws up the tutorial, which uses Tab to enter data into the fields.
Cornerstone does not have an option to turn anything off when uploading a eLearning module. Even if they did, the fact that the screen disappears when publishing as SCORM 1.2 implies that there is something going on with the SCORM 2004 publish that is different.
I have read other threads that tell me to add a line to the SCORM 1.2 HTML file to fix the seamless tabbing issue. However, the HTML file simply routes out to the javascript file, so that can't be done.
And, although HTML 5 is a preferred solution, Captivate's HTML 5 version does not support rollover captions, which I use in my tutorial.
Do I have ANY other options here? I would very much appreciate some help.

SCORM manifest title and description

I'm trying to create a description and title field in the SCORM manifest. I set settings in the Project Information (see picture), but they don't seem to show up in the manifest. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Project > Information description is not for the SCROM manifest it is for assistive devices. You must go into Preferences > Quiz > Reporting > Enable reporting, choose which type of LMS you're using and the standard then click on Configure, the course Title will be uplaoded to the LMS as and the SCO title also be uploaded in the pop up (at least that's how it worked in my LMS). The description never came through for me in my LMS (also I was using an older version of Captivate back then). So maybe in yours it will.

SCORM manifest files

when i publish a project in Captivate 2, the manifest file
that generates is titled 'breeze-manifest', and it won't import
into our Pathlore LMS... in the 'reporting' window i have the
'scorm' radio button selected and completed all the required fields
in the 'manifest' area... can anyone help me figure out why i'm
getting the breeze-manifest stuff instead of the manifest
information for the course?...

In Order to generate the imsmanifest.xml which will contain
the information for SCORM, you MUST have atleast one scoring object
in your project. That is either a question slide or any interactive
object (like button/click box) with tracking enabled.
To enable the tracking for an interactive object, go to the
reporting tab of the object (from object properties) and tick -
Include in Quiz and reporting.
After this when you publish the project with HTML you will
see the manifest XML file in the published location.

Completion Status not showing in LMS

My customer is integrating my AICC compliant output with his
Saba LMS via url (so course structure files)
The course launches fine, but after it is completed, the
results (complete/incomplete) and even the course is not in the
transcript.
From research (

I believe the issue is with the exitAU
I have modified the html as suggested
Comment out the following line:
var w = varWindow.open("","mm_exitAU",…
Add a new line:
var w = null;
however still no luck.
I should mention that this course consist of 35 unique .swf
files, and 11 of those files are made up of quizes that the
students take. These files are branching, so you launch the course
from one file and then can continue on to other sections when each
is complete without returning to the original launch file.

Hi, I am having similar issues under slightly different conditions...
I am using:
Captivate 7
SCORM 2004
Template: SendTrackingDataAtEnd
Cornerstone LMS
Multiple Browsers: IE8, Firefox, Chrome
About 10% of my users are unable to complete their training even though they satisfy the completion criteria (view 70% of the slides.)
No matter how many times they review the content, the LMS still shows the online lesson as 'In Progress.'
I tested a sample course on the Scorm Cloud and it worked fine and showed completion across multiple browsers... Does this mean it is purely an LMS issue? How might I change my captivate file to send the time/completion data in a different way that my LMS may receive more frequently/efficiently?

Captivate 3 not saving SCORM manifest

I'm trying to use Captivate 3 to create a quiz to upload to
Moodle. I've added grading to each question, enabled reporting for
SCORM 1.2 - and all the other settings appear to be fine. But the
only manifest I get, (and one Moodle doesn't recognize) is
breeze-manifest.xml - which doesn't look anything like a SCORM
manifest. Other than that i just have my 2 swf files and a
BDMetadata.xml file that isn't SCORM related either.
I am using Windows Vista - not sure if that matters - but
something about the LMS reporting is not working with Captivate 3 -
I've tried different settings - SCORM 2004, AICC - and the
breeze-manifest.zml is all I ever get.

Uncheck the 'publish Breeze metadata' (or something like
that) in the
Publish options to avoid the useless (if your not using
Breeze) Breeze
manifest. Be sure you have 'publish to zip file' (or
something like
that) checked. I'm pretty sure a manifest is not generated if
you don't
output the results to a zip file...
If you do both those, is there an imsmanifest.xml file in the
resulting
.zip file?

Well as far as I can tell the only developed alternative to Apple is Microsoft, sure you want to go there?
iCloud (and Mobile Me before it) are consumer level systems, working correctly they are a poor choice for business use, if you want to stay all Mac try Zimbra if you can let a little Microsoft in the mix use Microsoft Exchange (Mail, iCal & Address Book are compatible as clients), hosted Exchange systems cost about $10 per month.
Or try to fix what is wrong with your installation (which is clearly not running as it should)

Is there a scorm manifest maker for dreamweaver cs6

I purchased Creative Cloud that came with Dreamweaver CS6. I assumed there would be coursebuilder as it was listed. It didn't come with coursebuilder.
So, my question is if there is a SCORM manifest maker that plugs into Dreamweaver CS6 or will the old manifest maker on the Adobe Exchange still work?

AFAIK, coursebuilder used to come with e-Learning suite. I don't know if it still does. E-Learning suite is a separate purchase & not currently available on the Cloud.

Presenter 8/SCORM 2004: no tracking in LMS?

Hi,
We're using a new LMS and I'm new to using Adobe Presenter, especially with enabling the reporting to SCORM 2004 capabilities. When loading into our LMS, the courses are tracking progress and resuming correctly, but they are not passing completion data. (We're simply doing 80% of slide views to track completion).
Our vendor claims the issue lies with Presenter, and claims that Adobe Presenter does not pass grading or tracking information to LMS.
We have tested the content in SCORM Cloud, and tracking and grading information is being recorded correctly. Are there known issues with Presenter reporting and tracking in SCORM 2004?
Also possibly related, to get Captivate courses to track/report correctly, we had to add javascript to each file provided by the LMS vendor and patch the manifest file (I don't know what was adjusted to make those work, though).

I have faced the same problem too.
We have many online courses in my company transferred from PPT through Adobe Presenter. Some colleagues have encountered the similar problem as you described, i.e., the completion status is incorrect even though they have visited each page of the course file.
Through my investigation, it seems that the problem is due to the missing of Java at user's PC. JAVA(JVE) is necessary in order to realize the communication between Presenter file and LMS.
So I ask these colleagues to install JVE in their PC, and re-visit the course file, then the completion status becomes correct.

Problem with manifest file and Plateau LMS

I have published a course with a quiz in SCORM 1.2 and tried
to upload to a Plateau LMS.
It seems that a "page cannot be found" message is the result
after upload and we try to launch the course. The course works
outside the LMS (when run locally on my computer).
The Plateau LMS support team tried to help, and found the
following: "There is something wrong with this manifest, though I
cannot ascertain what that is exactly. Most of the file name is in
the parameter field, which is causing the launch path to look like
this:
/content/apmm/cbcgis/mars/BRTMAIN/MARS?BRT%20Maintenance%20Template_%2020080226.htm=
Everything in the parameters field is placed after the
filename in a URLencoded querystring after the question mark that
you see above. it should look like this:
/content/apmm/cbcgis/mars/BRTMAIN/MARS BRT Maintenance
Template_ 20080226.htm"
Can anyone please help resolve this, or have any advice?
This is the first time we have tried uploading Captivate
courses to this LMS, and we have been having problems with the
manifest file in general. I have looked at all the material I can
find on publishing and the manifest file, but cannot seem to
resolve my issue.

I have had this error with an Authorware set of SCORM files
when my LMS was looking for index.htm and I had named it index.html
- you wouldn't think that would cause an error but it did. I would
be more than happy to package a Captivate file of just a few
screens that works on my LMS (which is Learn.com's Learning
Center), and send you the SCORM files to test... That could be a
start anyhow. I will send you a private msg. with my e-mail
id.

SCORM Manifest not appearing

I'm creating a SCORM-compliant course with two sections: a
content section and a quiz section. Both are considered separate
SCOs though they share the same course number. When I "published"
the quiz section, Captivate 2 automatically created a SCORM Support
directory and an ims_manifest.xml file which I assume is required
to communicate with the Learning Management System. I can't get
this to happen with the content section. It only produces a swf
file. Confession: I may have deleted those files by mistake in my
first attempt to try out various settings. What do I do now? No
matter what settings I choose, I can't produce a manifest.

Did you set anything in the content lesson for the Quiz
Preferences? You
at least need to check 'SCORM' and 'manifest' options for
Captivate to
recognize you need this tracked to an LMS...
You may not have needed to do that for the quiz lesson since
inserting
quizzes may have set some/all of those options for you (?).

Flv files not showing in LMS

Hi
I have imported a .flv file into Captivate 4 but when I view it my LMS it does not show.
I have read a lot of threads but I can't seem to get it to work.
One of the wierdest things is that it was working perfectly.
Whilst trying to get it to work I noticed that when I publish it to a folder (non zip) and play the .swf file, it works. As soon, as I zip it via Captivate or winzip, and play the .swf file, it appears to lose the link and therefore doesnt show.
Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks for the info. I did check with Tech Support from the LMS, and they assured me that the LMS does support .flv files. However, our online modules are launched from a webserver separate from the LMS, and that server needed to have the proper MIME type configured. By default, Windows 2003 Server does not have an associated MIME type to support deploying FLVs.
Specifically, it needed to be set up to recognize .flv files with the correct file association and content type specified. That took care of it.

Detail information showing up on multiple areas of a report

I need detail information to show up on multiple areas of a report that I am working on.There are different areas on a form that I am working on that require multiple lines of detail information. I have tried using a subreport, but when it goes to a second page it doesn't show the correct detail information.

those are imessages, you guys must be using the same apple id for imessages.
go to settings>messages>send &recieve and check whether the same id is listed in the all the phones, if so change to a different id or remove it.

Drive information "Show View Options" incorrect, screen won't turn off

1) Has anyone else had the issue when you turn on the "show view options" to make it so I can see the hard drives total space and available space below the icon, BUT it's not accurate.
I'll be moving large files and it says say "7gb" when I know I have more after emptying my garbage can. I open finder and the total available is like "25gb". If I do an information (apple + I) it also confirms my finder saying I have way more disk space. So I can only make out that the show view options for disk space is incorrect. I believe when I turn this option off and turn it back on in a couple days after a reboot it seems to read the disk space correctly. What is the deal with this?
2) other question is that I like to have my monitor turn off after 1 min when i'm plugged in to AC. I would say 25% of the time when I'm plugged in it won't do this and I have to reboot for this function to work. If i'm plugged into AC, i want it to go black after 1min of no activity.
for both questions, this is a clean install of tiger to the newest build and I do disk permissions every week. But I still get this problem.
any insight would be fantastic as these are just small problems I can't seem to figure out without a clean reboot.
