SCOT Configuration ECC6

Hi there,
I am using ECC6 on HPUX.  Currently within SCOT my default domain is configured and within  the  SMTP node it states local. Nothing is configured within SICF for SAPCONNECT
I am able to send email - I believe SAP sends the mail to the local HPUX server where ECC resides and sendmail passes the email to the users.
I have 2 problems/questions.
If I have several Finance users which are sending Purchase Orders via email if an incorrect email address is entered for a vendor I would like the end user to be notified to their exchange email account.
If I send an email (SMTP) via SWBP to an incorrect email address I would expect to be notified eventually that the mail was never sent as the address was incorrect, however this does not happen.
If I was to send an email via exchange (NON SAP) this functionality is there.
How can I get this functionality?
Would I be correct in thinking that I need to configure the exchange server details within SCOT and SICF.
The second issue is with the current configuration as it is all the emails remain in scot as in transit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,
It sounds like your current configuration does not handle the confirmation of receipt very well.
Your second issue can be fixed by turning the confirmation of receipt off (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/55/609f388b7811d3a33000a0c943858e/frameset.htm)
Regarding your first issue, If you already have an exchange infrastructure in place, I see no reason why you would not want to use it with you SAP servers.
Note 455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP gives a very detailed explanation as to how to set this up.

  • SCOT Configuration for output format XLS in ECC6

    Dear All,
Currently the ECC6 that I'm trying to configure the SCOT does not have a XLS format for Abap List, so I couldn't proceed with it.
Since the ECC6 only have standard output format. (HTM , PCL , PDF , TXT)
Is there anyway to add the output format for the XLS output format for SCOT configuration.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

  • SCOT configuration for internal & external email system in EP.

    Hi,
I want to add SCOT configuration for internal & external email system in  SAP EP 7.0  ?
What all steps I need to do ? any good documents on this ?

    Hi Haider,
I have read the link you have given me to configure SCOT. I have 3  doubt plzz clarify.
    Doubt No. 1:
In that link its mentioned that I have to add 2  profile parameter in the transaction RZ10 namely icm/server_port_<>*  and is/SMTP/virt_host_<>*
My question is Can I put any value which i like in place of * like can I add either icm/server_port_2  OR  icm/server_port_3 OR icm/server_port_4  in icm parameter AND ALSO
Can I put any value which i like in place of * in is/SMTP/virt parameter like can I add either is/SMTP/virt_host_0  OR  is/SMTP/virt_host_1  OR is/SMTP/virt_host_2 .
    Doubt No. 2:
What port value I have to put in the profile parameter    icm/server_port_2  in RZ10.  Can I put any port value ? and automatically that port will work? say suppose I addded this profile parameter in RZ10
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180          so automatically 25000 port will work ? or will it give error?
    Doubt No. 3:
When I go to SMICM transaction and go to services , I get the following:
No.  Log         Service name/port     Host name           Keep Alive    Proc TimeOut   Active
    1     HTTP               8000                  epv.sopm.com           30                     60               Yes
    2     SMTP               0                       epv.sopm.com            30                    60                Yes
    3     HTTPS             8001                 epv.sopm.com            30                    180               Yes
This means that HTTP port is 8000,   HTTPS port is 8001. My question is why in SMTP its showing 0, why no port is shown?
I have not added any profile parameter like  icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180     for SMTP in RZ10 as of now.
Is this the reason for this ?

    Hi Soumya,
Please check the note 455140 for solving any of the SCOT configuration problem.
This is a very simple and clear cut note.
In your case: Check whether mail Address is specified in SU01 for the recepient user.
    2. Node in use is checked in SMTP.
Hope this definitely solves your problem.

  • Scot configuration...Smtp

    Hi friends,
there are 2 clients in our system in one of the client scot is configured and is working fine....
Now we need to configure the scot in the another client in the same system.. will this gona effect the previous client if not what all the steps need to be done to complete this configuration... smtp configuration..
please help me out in configuring smtp ..send me some blogs or documents
    Regards
    Vijay

    Dera Vijay,
Yes you got to configure the same in new client on the same server as SCOT configuration is client independent
Back to SCOT, the configuration of the SMTP should look like:
Mail Host: the Exchange server domain name (FQDN)
    Mail port: 25
Code Page: what ever you need (like 4110 unicode UTF8)
in the supported address choose Internet then click on the SET button and include your company address like:@XXX.ac.in:)
In the SAP's user manager (SU01) the user need an email address to be able to send emails.

  • Scot configuration for 4.6c systems

    Hi All,
After having worked on Ecc 6 systems i am having problems understanding confog for 4.6c systems for SCOT for out bound mails.
We have a requirement where we need to change the mailhost name.In Ecc we just need to change in scot but whereas in 4.6c how do we change it.Thanks.

    Hi Ambarish,
You do not configure the mail host in SAPconnect or the IMG but rather in Sendmail or the "other" mail software you will be using. SMTP was not available in releases before 6.10 as the ICM was not available. I will explain the flow of a request below:-
SAPConnect -> RFC -> Internet Mail Gateway -> Sendmail (or Sendmail equivalent) -> SMTP Mail Server
As you can see you do not enter the mail host and listening port of the SMTP server as Sendmail is the actual SMTP server. The mail is not relayed via SMTP but RFC from the SAP system and SMTP mail is forwarded from Sendmail. Note that Sendmail is a fully functioning mail server ! This method was not perfect but worked with some configuration.
Below is a "how to" that will enable you to setup mail routing from 4.6C to Exchange and all you have to do is enable Exchange to accept mails from the Sendmail clone (Emailrelay).
    http://it.toolbox.com/wiki/index.php/Email_from_SAP_-_4.6C_using_MS_Exchange_2003
Using this method it is possible to send mails from 4.6C to Exchange via a hop via another SMTP server
    Hope this helps

  • SCOT configuration

    Hi all,
I am facing issues while configuring SCOT in solution manager,.
    I need your help .
    Regards
    Praveen

    OK.
    Let´s see, Praveen.
It is of importance that you understand well the arquitecture before configuring anything. If you only follow step-by-step instructions, and you don´t know why you activate this or that parameter or flag, then you will not be able to solve the future problems you will have with the connection between SAP and emails.
As a first step, read carefully the online help
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/2b/d925bf4b8a11d1894c0000e8323c4f/frameset.htm
You should, afterwards, check with report RSPARAM that you have correctly set some important parameters like
    icm/server_port_1 PROT=SMTP,PORT=
is/SMTP/virt_host_0      :; (default value) only necessary for receiving mails
The port specified should be listening and not occupied by any other program
Then you will have to activate the SMTP Node in SCOT and point the IP Adress and port of the mail server (or to localhost and then configure the sendmail at OS level of the SAP Server).
Afterwards, in SCOT --> Communication Methods you will have to set
    FAX     SAPCONNECT
    INT     SAPCONNECT
    PAG     SAPCONNECT
    PRT     SAPCONNECT
    RML     SAPCONNECT
    X40     SAPCONNECT
The JOBS SAPCONNECT should be running periodically. Set it in SCOT --> View --> Jobs
In mail server, you should check you accept mails from the SAP Server, otherwise the sending of mails will fail
    Hope this helps.
    Antonio

  • SCOT Configuration--for external mail

    Hi All,
I am trying to configure SCOT on my solution manager server. and able to send mail inside comapny  mail domain but not able to send mail on any external mail domain like yahoo,hotmail.gmail.
we are using MS exchange server for mailing. please advice me if any further setting require on Mail server side.
    Thank
    Gyan

    Hi,
Yes this is because your SMTP email server does allow sending emails to the outsid world.
If you are using SAP WAS 6.10 or above you do not need any extra configuration you need only to follow the following steps:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/455140
This is because the SMTPplug-in from WAS 6.10 and onwards - supports all SMTP mail gateways and you do not need any SAP Exchange Connector as well to connect to MS Exchange Servers. Please find below the details from SAP as well:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/122657
if you have followed all the steps as mentioned in sap note 455140 above, please liaise with your M/S Exchange Server administrator so that he can unblock the sending of emails to the outside world as well, if that is permitted.
    - Regards, Dibya

  • Scot configuration for SMTP

    Hi all,
I wolud like to know the configuration steps need to do in the SCOT transaction inorder to send the mails from SAP system to othermail servers via SMTP.
Your help would be more appreciable
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi RKK,
e-mail, fax or paging/SMS via SMTP configured in the SAP Web Application Server & Which prerequisites and settings are required outside the SAP system?
Brodly there are five steps to configure
    1. Profile parameters
    2.User administration (transaction SU01)
    3. Client assignment (transaction SICF)
    4.SAPconnect administration (transaction SCOT)
    5. Settings on the mail server (SAP-external configuration)

  • SCOT - Configuring multiple default domain

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure multiple default domain in SCOT in a client?
I have set the default domain to e.g. "company1.com" and mails with this domain are sent out.  However, mails with "company2.com" are not sent out.  The message in SOST is "Delivery Attempted" and the mails were never received.
I tried setting the default domain in SCOT to "company1.com, company2.com" but it didn't work.  So I'm assuming that it will only accept one default domain.
"company1.com" and "company2.com" are my subsidiary companies and not "yahoo" or "gmail" domains.
    Thanks

    Hi my friend
Default domain can be only one as it's called "default", which involves another setting: the SMTP mail host you define also can be only one, it can't work for 2 different mail domains.

  • How can I configure ECC6.0 to use LDAP (Active Directory) password

We're setting up an integrated authentication between the ECC 6.0 and the LDAP server, in our case the Microsoft Active Directory. We have some users that can't use WebGui because some features, that only run in the SapGui. We have already configured UME in the Sap Portal accessing directly the ADS server, and Sap Logon Ticket from Portal to ECC. Everything is ok to access the WebGui and SapGui by the Portal with the Sap Logon Ticket. However it demands that all users make the authentication previously in the Sap Portal. Is there another scenario only with SAP tools, for example using Sap Logon directly to the Active Directory. Obs.: Our entire sap servers are UNIX.

I had already read all these notes.
In the last week, I tried to configure the UME in our PI/XI environment to access the LDAP. As the result, the ABAP stack was perform the authentication perfectly above the LDAP. However I had some problems with the Java stack and I comeback the back. I will try it, in the next week again.
It's what I'd like to ECC environment. Anyone has already configured the UME in an ECC? Install a basic Java stack without all Java components only the UME in order to make this integration. If it’s possible I’ll very appreciate any documentation.
Other problem is the limitation of datasource in the UME, I didn't remember exactly but I guess that is only 5 (Authorization in the ECC, BI, SolMan, PI, APO, CRM, LDAP, Portal, etc). If it's possible I'll group the environments in different UME managers. Forget this paragraph lets focus in the integrated authentication in this thread after that authorization.

  • Mail configuration in not working in Production.

    Hi,
We are using SAP ECC6 with EHP 3 version with MSSQL2005 DB and WINDOWS2008r2 server.
For sending mails from SAP , we configured SCOT and SMTP configuration in all servers like DEV,QAS and PRD.
When i am sending mail from DEV and QAS its working fine, but in my PRD server mailis not going.and its giving below error message
Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final) errior message number 816
all the configuration done as per the SAP standard document only, and its working fine in DEV and QAS.
below i am giving all the profile information and scot configuration ,SMTP port information and all..
Please check and help me to resolve this error.
This same parameters working in DEV and QAS...same parameters are there in PRD also.
    Please check and help me.

    Hi,
Check the connection from the SAP system to node SMTP. Perhaps the node is not assigned to the correct destination. If so, correct this in Customizing.  In production operation, it is advisable to reroute provisionally to another node.  You should therefore notify your system administrator.
XS816 error are likely caused by a problem with the connection between the SAP system and mail server.
It may happens due to the following, ( try to check port is open or not )
    1. Check SMICM that ICM is running or not.
    2. Check configuration with the help of note SAP Note 421359.
    3. Check whether SMTP service/port are active and are correct.
    4. Check these SAP Note 757804, 634006, 455140.
    Thanks
