Hello sukhdev,
It is possible to send thru external servers without using SMTP plugin as depicted in the diagram here:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/42/ea000fb4b31a71e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
this can be done via some configuration settings, check out the process here:

  • T.37 OnRamp and OffRamp fax configuration- Problem

    Hello !
I have configured CISCO 2901 call router with T.37 OnRamp and OffRamp fax configuration.
I have configured SMTP for receiving fax from call router. I am using Novell GroupWise 8 e-mail application.
I could able to receive fax from call router,
But i m not able to send fax to outside world via call router
Because while sending fax we are using outsideno@callrouterip address ( ex:  [email protected])
My Novell GroupWise giving error like unable to find e-mail address in mail box ( Error : can not deilver message to internal loop address )
Reason : Mail box not able to find address because of every time if you use No like  this [email protected] . Mail box not able to recognize and unable to forward to call router,
I try to use windows FAX service to send fax to VOIP ( call router ), that does not work.
Is there any tool or client setup we would able to use and deliver mail to call router to send fax.
Until or else their is no use for using T.37 OnRamp and OffRamp fax configuration in call router
    Thanks

  • Modern Replacement for Unity's IP Fax Configuration Wizard?

    Just finished a cutover from CUCM/Unity 4.x to CUCM/UCONN 8.5.
All inbound faxes where being forwarded to a single email box by the h.323 gateway.  Now I see that then the IP Fax Configuration Utility was then sorting out those faxes to individual users mailboxes.
What is the replacement for this on an 8.5 Unity Connection system?
    Thanks!

  • Settings reqd in TCode SCOT to configure SMTP

    Hi,
I am in the process of configuring SMTP. I have done all the ICM settings and settings in TCode SICF.
This is an external SMTP server and to be able to use it as a smtp server there is master username and password. For this case in SCOT do I have to use the default SMTP node or create a new node of type RFC?
Can any one please guide me further configuration steps.
    Thank you,
    sam

    Hi,
    Note 455140 - Configuration E-mail, fax, paging/SMS via SMTP
    1. System user
In each client of an SAP system, a system user must be created to process the incoming messages. To do this, use transaction SU01 to create a user of the type "system" and assign the "S_A.SCON" profile to this user.
    2. In transaction SU01, enter the Internet mail address of a user in the "E-Mail" field under "Address".
    3. Client assignment (transaction SICF)
    a. In the Logon data (SAPconnect) Provide the client and the user created.
    b. Activate the node SAPconnect.
    4. SCOT
    a. Use the default SMTP node.
    b. check the check box (Node in use) in "General Information".
    c. Provide the Mail host in "SMTP Connection".
    d. click on internet in "Support Address types".
    e. provide a * in "Address area".
    f. For "Output Formats for SAP Documents" the following is recommended:
       SAPscript / Smart Forms       PDF
       ABAP List                            HTM
       Business Object / Link          HTM
       RAW Text                             TXT
    5. Default domain in SCOT.
The domain of this SAP system client is defined here, for example, crm-prod.company.com. It is used for the following purposes: The SMTP plug-in logs on to the mail server with the domain as ID. The message ID of outgoing mails is compiled with this domain. If an SAP user who has not entered an Internet mail address in their user master record sends an e-mail, a sender address is generated from the SAP user name and this domain, for example [email protected].
    In Menu
    settings --> Default Domain.
    e.g crm-prod.company.com
    6. Send job
E-mails that are sent from an SAP application are merely put into a queue. A periodically running background process, the SAPconnect send job, takes the e-mails from the queue and sends them via the Internet. This job can be scheduled from SAPconnect administration as follows:
"View" --> "Jobs". Check whether a job is already scheduled (displayed as a calendar icon).
Choose "Job" --> "Create", and specify a job name.
Place the cursor on the "SAP&CONNECTALL" variant and choose "Schedule Job".
    Choose "Schedule periodically".
Specify a time interval (for example 10 minutes) and choose "Create".
    Thanks,
    Tanuj

  • SCOT FAX send message error

Hi,  the send messages in scot for FAX is showing error but it has succussfully received at the destination.we are using topcall for fax service . we have verified as there is no line disconnection infax. what could be reason for this .

    Hi Krishbasis,
    Sorry for late reply.
I would request you to do complete verification of SCOT configuration. Below are the steps:
    1. Please check what is the default domain you have mentioned. SCOT--> Settings->Default domain.
Here you have to maintain the domain name properly. It should be like xyz.local.
    2. Please check SMTP configuration: Double clicking on SMTP node you should check Mail host is proper
and also mail Port should be 25.
    3. Under "Supported address Types" option "Internet" should be checked. Go to respective Set button
Here in Address area try giving * or specific to the address you will be sending mail.
    4. Check if you have scheduled the "Send Jobs". Its in "Settings -->Send Jobs". You can schedule the job for
"All Address Type" and schedule the job with proper user. Check in SM37 if the job is scheduled.
    5. For testing you can use tcode: SBWP. From there you can send test mail to the desired address
(check your organization policies before sending mail to external mail ID).
While triggering "New Message" from SBWP, please select recipient type as "Internet Address".
    6. To check the status go to tcode: SOST and check if it is delivered. You can try reprocessing once more.
But before all these things you have to ensure that your server IP is included in SMTP server. You can check with
    any OS administrator about this.
    Keep us posted.
    Regards,
    Sujit.

  • SCOT Faxing works. however notifications are received only on failure.

    Hi All,
Tried everything. Probably one of you can help me.
WE have configured SAP and TOPCALL so that faxing is now working. However while faxes are going thru all right we notice that only on failure of a fax to go thru the sender gets a notification of failure. They now seem to think they need also a notification of success.
What i mean is if user XYZ sends a fax to a number, the moment a Fax goes thru, they would like to be notified.
At the SCOT level i can see that faxing is working and faxes are going thru successfully.
    Can anyone help ?

  • UC320W, SPA8800 fax configuration

    Hello,
I have a site that has two POTS lines that I will be using a UC320W and an SPA8800 to provide phone lines to a trailer in a quarry via a wireless connection.  This setup works except that I have trouble receiving faxes from some fax machines.  I'm guessing this wouldn't be much of a problem for the customer except for the fact that one of the machines that we are having trouble receiving from is the main fax machine in their main office.
Anyway, the main site fax machine is a Canon Laser Class 700 (actually a 730i I believe) fax machine and the fax that's connected to the VoIP is an HP LaserJet 3015.  I actually got a fax through on Friday for the first time but, in order to make it work, I had to tweak the settings on the main office fax machine.  Basically, I lowered the maximum speed to 9600 baud and I turned off ECM.  Unfortunately, although this was great as a test, it's not a real fix.  Obviously, they aren't going to be able to control all the fax machines that send faxes to them.
So my question is, is there a way I can configure the UC320W or the SPA8800 so that it forces the handshake with remote devices so that they will link up at 9600 baud and without ECM?  Please note that I already tried setting the receiving fax machine to those parameters but the best I could do was No ECM and No V.34.  My understanding was that those settings would give me what I wanted but, instead, I got the same communication errors I had started with.
    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your answer.  Actually, the fax machine is connected to an SPA8800.  The UC320W is on the other side of the connection.  The whole point of this setup is that there isn't a way to hookup the fax machine directly to a POTS line.
There isn't any infrastructure to do it.  For the most part, the faxing works just fine.  From what I can determine, there is a problem between Canon fax machines and VoIP-connected fax machines in general.  I was able to get faxes to go through by tweaking the setup on the Canon but I would rather tweak the config on either the UC320W (which I guess is not possible) or on the SPA8800 (which I hope is possible).
So, to revise the question, is there anything I can do on the SPA8800?  As for official support, I was told that this was a fairly typical configuration when I called for reseller presales support.  From that I gather that this is at least "unofficially" supported and I hope that, maybe, someone has some insight.
    Thanks,
    Frank

  • ECC6.0-SCOT-FAX-Server FAX

    Hello!:
we are doing an upgrade from 46C to  ECC 6.0, so we have to reconfigure the FAX.
In the Note 179013 - Faxing from SP01 with SAPconnect (3.1I to 4.6D)  and other notes, say that we can't use the device type FAX with type FAX neither the sapcomm. we've to use the SCOT.
In the SCOT we have create a new entry FAX, but how can we create the RFC with the FAX Server?
    Thanks in advanced.
    Regards,
    Alfredo.

A quick google on WinFAX support with SAP gave me this:
I forget exactly when they cutoff
support for Winfax pro as a fax server, but I believe it was after 4.7
Enterprise. If you go to Symantec's page for Winfax pro for SAP it just
takes you to the Rightfax page now.
Rightfax can perform all the function below.
We do use Winfax10 before, after upgrade to 4.7 the DCOM does not support
    anymore.
    We have move to rightfax.
See [here|http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/winfax-pro-10-sapconnect-923571#]. Read the follow up at the bottom of the page.
Looks like bad news I'm afraid.

  • Fax Configuration

    Hello all,
I have a requirement where in which i have to convert a fax to an email and send the same to a group of members.  I'm using LiveCycle 8.0.1, Is there any way i can do that?
Lets say a person sends a fax to a number xxx-xxx-xxxx, i need to do some configuration which takes this fax at that no and converts it to a pdf document and sends it as an email to a group of people.  I have heard of Email end-point configuration which gets activated when it gets an email to a particular email id.  Similarly i have to do it for fax.  Is it possible? if so please provide me a link or a sample to know more about it.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hello All,
Thanks a lot for your quick replies.
I have suggested your solutions to our clients, they told they'll convert the fax to email and send it as an email with fax copy as an attachement to some email id.  I think i can use email endpoint configuration and later i can use email service to email to the group.
    Thanks once again
    Deepak

  • Auto FAX configuration

    Hi,
I configured the Microsoft shared FAX service (U.S Robotics  56K FAX Modem) to send fax through a Windows Server 2003 as fax server. Now I want to configure from SAP ECC 6 to send FAX. Can anyone guide me or let me know the steps to configure Auto FAX from SAP?
Appreciate if anyone can tell the steps involved apart from standard SAP HELP.

    Hi
Your request is a standard solution in SAP system, the technical name is "Condition"! As long as you finished the settings of Fax server, you can select the transmission media 2 -- Fax to handle it! You also can refer to the following information from help.sap.com.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/fd/5fff3922086721e10000000a114084/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/fd/5fff3922086721e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]

  • Spa122 fax configuration help

    Hi,
SPA122 is not working with our analog FAX machine (HP Laserjet printer). Sending or receiving faxes is almost impossible, it is unpredictable.
SPA122 product page says it works with FAX machines, so how can we get it to work? I have read all documentation but most of it relates to T38 faxing, and I mean traditional analog faxing.
    Regards,

    upgrade SPA122 to latest firmware
use uncompressed codec, e.g. aLaw or uLaw (use the one preferred in your country; don't forget to set FAX Passthru codec as well)
turn off silence suppressor, echo suppressor
echo canceller should be enabled if V.21 protocol is used by fax and disabled if V.34 is used
set RTP Packet size to 10ms
set Network Jitter Level according expected jitter AND DISABLE automatic adjustments of it
reconfigure your fax - allow Tx and Rx speed up to 9600Bd only
Note that it may not solve your problem. Fax transmission require short end-to-end signal delay, jitter must not be so high and even low packet loss is just unacceptable at all, especially when ECM is not used. Your internet connection may not fulfill all those requirements.
In advance, SPA122 seems not to be state-of-the-art device, even with the latest firmware. It's predecessor, PAP2T offer better results on the same line.
Best advice ? Consider fax to be dead technology. Order your secretary to scan document and transmit it as part of email. Ask your provider for virtual-fax service (fax is received on provider side, then send to you as email).
Mark thread as answered if the response help you to solve the issue. It will help others to found solutions.
