SCOT - Inbound Configuration

Dear Guru's,
We have configured SCOT in our system and its working fine while sending mails SAP id to SAP id, SAP id to External id and also if I send a mail from SAP Id to SAP Id it will have a copy at outlook box also.
But our issue was if I reply for the mail from outlook it will reach to outlook and not to SAP id. Could anyone guide me on this.

  • Settings reqd in TCode SCOT to configure SMTP

    Hi,
I am in the process of configuring SMTP. I have done all the ICM settings and settings in TCode SICF.
This is an external SMTP server and to be able to use it as a smtp server there is master username and password. For this case in SCOT do I have to use the default SMTP node or create a new node of type RFC?
Can any one please guide me further configuration steps.
    Thank you,
    sam

    Hi,
    Note 455140 - Configuration E-mail, fax, paging/SMS via SMTP
    1. System user
In each client of an SAP system, a system user must be created to process the incoming messages. To do this, use transaction SU01 to create a user of the type "system" and assign the "S_A.SCON" profile to this user.
    2. In transaction SU01, enter the Internet mail address of a user in the "E-Mail" field under "Address".
    3. Client assignment (transaction SICF)
    a. In the Logon data (SAPconnect) Provide the client and the user created.
    b. Activate the node SAPconnect.
    4. SCOT
    a. Use the default SMTP node.
    b. check the check box (Node in use) in "General Information".
    c. Provide the Mail host in "SMTP Connection".
    d. click on internet in "Support Address types".
    e. provide a * in "Address area".
    f. For "Output Formats for SAP Documents" the following is recommended:
       SAPscript / Smart Forms       PDF
       ABAP List                            HTM
       Business Object / Link          HTM
       RAW Text                             TXT
    5. Default domain in SCOT.
The domain of this SAP system client is defined here, for example, crm-prod.company.com. It is used for the following purposes: The SMTP plug-in logs on to the mail server with the domain as ID. The message ID of outgoing mails is compiled with this domain. If an SAP user who has not entered an Internet mail address in their user master record sends an e-mail, a sender address is generated from the SAP user name and this domain, for example [email protected].
    In Menu
    settings --> Default Domain.
    e.g crm-prod.company.com
    6. Send job
E-mails that are sent from an SAP application are merely put into a queue. A periodically running background process, the SAPconnect send job, takes the e-mails from the queue and sends them via the Internet. This job can be scheduled from SAPconnect administration as follows:
"View" --> "Jobs". Check whether a job is already scheduled (displayed as a calendar icon).
Choose "Job" --> "Create", and specify a job name.
Place the cursor on the "SAP&CONNECTALL" variant and choose "Schedule Job".
    Choose "Schedule periodically".
Specify a time interval (for example 10 minutes) and choose "Create".
    Thanks,

  • Scot configuration...Smtp

    Hi friends,
there are 2 clients in our system in one of the client scot is configured and is working fine....
Now we need to configure the scot in the another client in the same system.. will this gona effect the previous client if not what all the steps need to be done to complete this configuration... smtp configuration..
please help me out in configuring smtp ..send me some blogs or documents
    Regards
    Vijay

    Dera Vijay,
Yes you got to configure the same in new client on the same server as SCOT configuration is client independent
Back to SCOT, the configuration of the SMTP should look like:
Mail Host: the Exchange server domain name (FQDN)
    Mail port: 25
Code Page: what ever you need (like 4110 unicode UTF8)
in the supported address choose Internet then click on the SET button and include your company address like:@XXX.ac.in:)
In the SAP's user manager (SU01) the user need an email address to be able to send emails.

  • E-Mail Inbound - reply is not linked to Service Request

    Hi all,
we set up the E-Mail Inbound according to this guide E-MAIL INBOUND CONFIGURATION- ALM: Incident Management - SAP IT Service Management on SAP Solution Manager - SCN Wiki
The only difference to the Settings of the guide is that we maintained it for the ZMRQ. If we send an E-Mail to the System, then automatically a service request will be created. E.g. In the status "Customer Action" the requester gets an E-Mail with a tracking ID and can reply. But now we are facing a problem, the mail is not linked to the already existing ZMRQ and according to the rule policy again a new ZMRQ is created.
So we tried in addition to the mentioned guide above also this How to set up Threading in ERMS - CRM - SCN Wiki ,  this linked the ZMRQ to the mail. I am wondering a bit, because I know other systems with working inbound functionality and they are not set-up as in the Threading guide. Furthermore some other issues still exists after the reply the Status of the ticket is not automatically set to "in process", the text fields are not copied etc.
Now I removed the settings from How to set up Threading in ERMS - CRM - SCN Wiki again, because I think the reason is something else...
Does anyone know where the tracking ID of the incoming mail is checked? Does this take place in the workflow? I am thankful for every advice!
    Regards
    Katja

    renstarr,
I don't own the items purchased anymore...
For new Apple ID iTunes says something like "This Apple ID has not been used with iTunes yet" and asks me for the credit card details etc
For testing puproses I've deleted one of the purchased application from my device and iTunes claims that I need to buy it again....

  • AS2 after change of certificate no inbound communication

    Dear all,
the AS2 certifcate nearly ended, so we installed a new one. We send the public certificate to our customer. He installed the certificate, but the inbound communication is not working yet. The outbound communication is working.
The error messages from AS2 are:

Can you help me on this issue. It is the first time we changed the certificate. The communication was working well with the old certificate. Is anything on our side missing?
    Thanks and best regards
    Frank

    Hi Ravi,
This is really a useful information.
We have received a certificate file from our partner as you have mentioned.
I am in contact with BASIS colleague and trying if he could do it.
I would update the thread once it is resolved.

  • EMail ID field in transaction SU01and SCOT

    Hello,
I would like to know what is relevance of "EMail ID field in transaction SU01" in sending/receiving mails.
(SCOT is configured for SMTP Mail exchange.)
    Regards,
    Nirav Shah.

    Hi,
As I mentioned earlier if You assign email address in su01 then system will consider it as your email id and used it while sending or receving the mail.
e.g if you want to send email to <xyz>@<abc.com> and you have mentioned email id in su01 as <pqr>@<ccc.com> then system will send the email to <xyz>@<abc.com> in which from address is <pqr>@<ccc.com>
But if you do not mentioned the <pqr>@<ccc.com> and you have defined default domain "comp.com" and your user name is "hello" then system send the email to <xyz>@<abc.com> in which from address is <hello>@<comp.com>
Please email address after removing <>, as it is restricted to write any email address in the forum.
I hope you got your answer

  • Regarding ( ALE-BAPI ) Configuration

    Hello all............
Iam working on ALE & EDI for some time.
    In the Distribution Model View ( BD64 ) there is a option <b>'ADD BAPI'</b>.
I have gone through the documentation regarding this issue but could not get the exact break through which I was looking for.
Can anyone give me the exact steps for configuration to be followed right from creation of PORTS for Outbound & Inbound configuration of Purchase Orders using <b>ADD BAPI</b>.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ajay.

    Hi Ajay,
The distribution model is used in ALE scenarios, which is basically master data replication. For transaction data like Purchase Orders there is no need to maintain the distribution model. Just maintain the partner profiles (WE20)!
    Regards,
    John.

    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

  • Custom inbound in B2B

    Hi,
I m having problem on the custom inbound configuration.I am following the sample tutorial.I configured in Jdev.In my configuration,B2B will receive file from c:\xyz then it will write to a directory via mediator layer.I configured TP.In TP i configured the channel which will poll from c:\xyz directory. Then it will pass the doc to Host TP.But for the above configuration the file(xml) is not getting read by the TP.I copy the file to the c:\xyz but not getting polled.I even saw the log file and business report section, but did not get any thing regrading this project. Please suggest.

  • SAP pdf coversion fails to preserve hyperlink (SCOT)

    Hi
I create an email in raw text format. The URL is quite long and spans 2 lines.
When Sap Connect (SCOT) is configured to output emails in txt format, the emails are
generated fine, and the URL can be clicked on.
However, when the SCOT email option is configured to output PDF format,
an automatic line break is inserted in the URL. So when you click on the URL hyper link only the first part (first
line) is copied in to the browser, the rest is ignored.  So we must cut and paste the rest manually.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Kind regards

You may be able to find more information by putting an infinite loop at the beginning of your user exit:
    x = ' '.
    while x = ' '.
    x = ' '.
    endwhile.
and then go into debugging via SM50 and set the x variable to break out of the loop.
This technique is useful debugging workflows and other code which you cannot get to directly by placing a break-point.

  • Inbound XML file into ECC6 .. is middleware required?

    Hi
We are running SAP ECC6 and do not have SAP XI.
An external system needs us to send an outbound WMTORD in XML format. We have configured the XML port and succesfully got an xmla file out of the system.
The external system will return a WMSUMO idox in XML format. ... but I am unclear if SAP can process this directly without some middleware or having to run special function modules (somehow?!).
Can anyone help clarify what needs to be done for the inbound xml file ... do I create a file port and SAP simply converts the xml into normal format?
I see some post about running function modules .. im not cleear on what program is used to run these
    Any help appreciated
    Thx

    HI,
To answer your question specifically, No, there is no need for an middleware for your case.
You can just create an inbound port of type xml file port and do the necessary IDOC inbound configuration and that should be enough.

  • SCOT Config: Message status Transmitted even when mail not received

    Dear All,
We have SCOT correctly configured on one of our systems. We are able to send external messages.
The problem we are facing is that sometimes some of the sent email bounces(doesn't reaches recepient). But the status on the message sent shows as transmitted.
We tried with couple of wrong mail ids and systems accepts that and forwards the message to it and sets the message status as transmitted.
We checked with our mail admin for the send logs and the mail server has logs for the messeages as failed.
We are working with the option SAPConnect expects receipt confirmation for internet mail.
    Regrads,
    Vishal

    Thanks all,
My outgoing messages are going fine to other domains.
I have set read receipts confirmation, but that isn't working I guess.
I have tested and configured my system for incoming messages.
I checked it through following test and I received a msg in my sbwp inbox.
    telnet  {SAP application server}  25000
         220 {SAP application server} SAP 700(37) ESMTP service ready

       quit
          221 {SAP application server} Bye
Replace the lines in curly brackets with relevant values.
indented lines are the system response.
Can anyone let me know what settings has to be done on mail server side so that read receipts starts pouring in.
    Regards,
    Vishal
