SCOT - SMTP change host mail

Hello,
I have a SMTP connection with a host mail configured, but now i want to change this IP to another.
I tried to change only the host mail in SMTP node but gives an error sending the mail.
anybody konws if i  have to change some parameter or the network management needs to
configure or instal something in the new mail server.
Best Regards,
Eduardo Paiva

Hi Eduardo,
To change the mail server IP or Hostname address for the SAPconnect node in SCOT -> Node SMTP -> New IP address or Hostname. This is the only parameter that you need to configure for sending mails via SMTP in SAP.
If your mail server is not accepting the mails (usually due to authentication issues) you will have to use the IP address of the SAP server as a means of authentication. There is no other mechanism for SMTP authentication available in SAP.

  • Mail configuration for core hosted mail servers

    Hi,
We have configured scot to send emails from SAP to the domain ids in XXXXX.com.
For testing the port condition :-
We checked if port 25 was open on the smtp server. This was the check. devassp1:devadm> telnet 202.162.244.10 25 Trying... Connected to 202.162.244.10. Escape character is '^]'. 220 ESMTP Is this a succesful check to see if the port is open?
    Core hosted mail server
Also, the smtp server is co-hosted and the provider is not willing to add the SAP server IP address to the list of authenticated servers on the smtp server. Is there a work around?
In SAP after configuring scot, we get the error message that Internal error: CL_SMTP_RESPONSE ESMTP error code is not known. 554 554 5.7.1 <mailid>: Relay a Message no. XS829 Diagnosis An error occurred in program CL_SMTP_RESPONSE Error text: ESMTP error code is not known. Please suggest what needs to be done.
    Thanks

    Hi
Looks to me some SMTP server configuration issue, Please have look at below SAP notes
Please check you have defined the below entries in your system profile
    icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25,TIMEOUT=300,PROCTIMEOUT=600
Then follow below itmes to further troubleshoot if still issue persists
Note 455140 - Configuration of e-mail, fax, paging or SMS using SMTP.Also check
Note 552616 - FAQ: SAPoffice - Sending to external recipients
Note 402907 - SAPconnect: Sending via ESMTP terminates with a dump
Note 751332 - Error sending mails with several recipients
Otherwise, In general you just do the following configuration and nothing else you have to do in SAP application.
First of all check port 25 is open from SAP server to SMtp server
Also check sap server is define as realay agent in SMTP server.
    Do the follwoing step.
    1. Use transaction SCOT
    2. From tope menu: View -> System Status
    3. Double Click on SMTP
    4. You will get a window and fill in description
    5. Tick the "Node in use" box
    6. Enter the hostname of the email exchange server
    7. Mail port will be 25
    8. Click on the button next to Internet called "Set"
    9. You will get another window, in the "address area" box, enter *
    10. Click the green check button to exit the second window
    11. Click the green check button to exit the main window
    12. From top menu: Settings -> Default Domain
    13. in the small box that appears enter the domain name which is the last part after the email id ,The domain name would be for e.g company.com
    14. You need to define a job to process the email, from top menu: View -> Jobs
    15. From top menu: Job -> Create
    16. Enter a name
    17. Click on "INT" in the list then "Schedule job" button
    18. Enter start date and time, then click on "Schedule Periodically" button
    19. Enter something like every 10 minutes.
    20. the configuraton is now complete. To test it, you need to have an email defined in your user id properties. Use SU01 for that.
    21. Use transaction SO00
    22. Put Title, and text in the body, then enter your email address below, the recepient type would be "internet address"
    23. After a maximum of 10 minutes you should get the email address.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Unknown Host : mail.sap.corp

    Hi expert,
This is my first time configure the smtp server in CE 7.1 SP3. I have read the following threads:
Re: Guided Procedures - set mail smtp host Re: Mail settings for Guided Procedures
    And I have tried this:
    1. Go to Guided procedure ->
    Administration-> Administer BMF->Clients
->select iForms Processor -> press Settings button
    -> Mail Sending tab.
    2. Set your smtp server in SMTP Server field.
    3. Press Save button.
You can test mail sending by pressing Test button
    but first you should
configure the mail of the administrator of BMF and
the mail of the administrator of the client
(iForms Processor). Please follow instruction below
    BMF Administrator's mail:
    1.Go to Guided procedure ->
    Administration-> Administer BMF->Settings.
2.Input the mail in Administrator Mail files.
    3.Press Save button.
    iForms client Administrator's mail:
    1. Go to Guided procedure ->
    Administration-> Administer BMF->Clients
    ->select iForms Processor
    2. Press Edit button.
    3. Input the mail in Administrator Mail files.
    4. Press Save button.
    and
Set the SMTP settings (smtp.sever property) in Configtool under cafeugp~model
However, the later method do not allow me to modify the configuration. And both method failed and I still received the following exception:
    Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp
    javax.mail.MesssagingException: Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp
    can help?
    thank you

    Hi,
    maybe you should try this:
    1. Under Guided Procedures, choose Administration u2192 Administer BMF.
    2. Choose Clients, then under BMF Clients choose Settings, and then choose Mail Sending.
    3. Enter the data for SMTP Server and Mail Transport Protocol. For example:
             SMTP Server: mail.sap.corp
             Mail Transport Protocol: smtp
    4. Save
or try the config tool as explained on the following sap help page:

  • Why can I no longer send email from my Hotmail SMTP account using Mail?

I can no longer send email from my Hotmail SMTP account using Mail. The connection doctor says it can't connect to the SMTP server. All the settings look to be correct and it was working fine before. I can still email using my iPhone with the same account.

Other may post it is some type of change with your ISP but the simple fact is this happen with Apple Mac Mail all the time.
IMHO Mac Mail is one of, if not the, worst mail program ever written.
Do yourself a big favor and start using some other mail program, any other Mail program.

  • Mail can't change outgoing mail server

Trying to change the outgoing mail server for email accounts (POP and IMAP) - the field in the Preferences -> Accounts panel is disabled. Disabled. Why? My ISP moved to new servers and I can't access email until I update the account preferences. What the ????

    Hello Andrew Macrae,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you are trying to change your Mail account's outgoing mail server.  To do this, please follow the steps below where you are able to edit your outgoing server information.
Choose Mail > Preferences, then click Accounts.
    Select an account.
Click Account Information, then review the server being used for outgoing messages.
If None is selected, click the Outgoing Mail Server pop-up menu, then choose a different server.
Make sure the selected server is one specified by your account provider and that the server name is spelled correctly. Click the Outgoing Mail Server pop-up menu, choose Edit SMTP Server List, then review or enter information as directed by your provider.
If you contact your provider about the server, use the form in this Apple Support article to record Mail settings you might need for configuring the server.
Apple Support article: Mail settings you might need from your emal provider
If the server is obsolete, click the Outgoing Mail Server pop-up menu, choose Edit SMTP Server List, select the server, then click Remove . Don’t remove a server that’s in use by an account unless you’re ready to add a different server for the account.
Test your changes by sending yourself a message.

    Take care,

  • Mail to blocked SMTP server stalls mails to other SMTP servers

    Hi,
I have a particularly weird problem.
In Mail.app I have a Mobile Me account, a personal IMAP account and an Exchange account (working over IMAP etc. as it's Exchange server 2003 so I don't get all the fruity Snow Leopard/Exchange goodness).
The problem I have is this- in the office they block access to external SMTP servers (quite rightly).
If I send a mail through my Mobile Me or personal IMAP account and forget to tell it to use the internal work SMTP server then Mail.app will sit forever trying to connect to the external SMTP server and never time out (or if it does timeout it must be more than a few hours).
This isn't a huge problem in and of itself. However from this point on any mail I send will sit behind the stalled e-mail in the queue and never go out- so even my internal mails hang around not sending.
The only indication of this is the non-stop spinning wheel on the sent items folder and the never-ending 'Connecting to smtp.me.com' in the activity window.
The only way to resolve this is to go to the activity window and cancel all connections to the offending SMTP server. At that point the 'Outbox' folder will appear in my folder list and show me all of the e-mails it hasn't sent. I then have to open each one individually and click send again, at which point they go out (provided they still have the correct internal SMTP server selected).

    Ernie,
Thanks for the response. I have previously seen Mail.app fail to send and bring the message back up telling me this- but that usually happens quite some time after trying to send, if at all, and I don't recall ever having this error happen in the office (where they are blocking these ports).
I have had similar issues when travelling and trying to send through hotel networks that typically block port 25- even then I rarely get a failure message (note that this has been happening both on 10.5.x and my clean install of 10.6.x)
    I did check to see if the network here was doing some spoofing on SMTP ports but it isn't;
    #####:~ #####$ time telnet smtp.me.com 25
    Trying 17.148.16.31...
telnet: connect to address 17.148.16.31: Operation timed out
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host
    real 1m15.019s
    user 0m0.002s
    sys 0m0.003s
I get the same 1m15s timeout on port 465 & 587, yet Mail.app never seems to give up trying.
I tried sending to an external SMTP server without SSL to see if the behaviour was any different- but after 15 mins it's still trying so I guess not.
    Weird.

  • Change hosting problems

I have just upgraded my domain hosting to enable sending through Virgin broadband on my laptop and now the pushmail is not working. My Incoming POP settings and SMTP Outgoing settings have changed. Has this caused the problem? If so how do I change my Blackberry settings to enable sending and receiving on my B'berry again?
I have another email address with different domain whose settings have not been changed and this is working fine so the problem is confined to my changed hosting. Any ideas?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Indeed, BIS retains record of your email account credentials and other configuration information...if you change that (as you did), then you need to re-configure BIS with the new information. See this:
KB03087 How to set up email services for the BlackBerry smartphone
Inside of the email configuration wizard (or the BIS website), you should have the ability to edit your email configuration. If you can't properly edit it, then delete it and re-create it with the new information.
    Good luck!

For gmail there are no settings to change, you can access gmail from any browser just by going to the gmail site and logging in.
The [[Firefox will not start]] article should help with the problem you are having with Firefox.

    Hi adamsfly,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you changed your email address and iCloud is looking to sign in with the old Apple ID email. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • HT4859 After the i-cloud server issue Nov 26, 2012, I had to change some mail account settings to get my i-cloud mail to work again.  However, all of my received e-mails are gone.  How do I retrieve my e-mails from the server?

After the i-cloud server issue yesterday, November 26, 2012, my i-cloud mail account on my Macbook Pro stopped receiving mail.  I changed some mail account settings to fix the issue, and was able to start receiving e-mails.  However, all of my historical e-mails are gone.  How do I retrieve all of my old e-mails from the server?

What settings did you change, what were the changes, have you visited www.icloud.com to see what mail is actually there? and do you have a backup?

  • When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" with the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed

When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" "behind"  the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message in the inbox.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed individually in the inbox instead of having them "stacked" behind the original message.  I'm afraid I might accidentially overlook messages the way they are handled now.

Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but what you have to do is go into Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars and under Mail, turn off "Organize by Thread".  I think that will make each message show individually.

  • Changing e-mail IDs- can no longer authorize music to my computer

When I changed e-mail accounts, I also changed my Apple ID to reflect the new account. Now, music that I purchased under the old ID will not play. iTunes keeps asking me to authorize my computer - I do, iTunes store OKs it. Then I click "play" on the song, and the whole cycle starts up again!
I have tried authorizing under the old ID, but just get a message that the ID is not recognized.
What do I do about this? Anyone have an idea?
    desktop 4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Try
    - Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, that may not work and you will have to wait for an iPod or iTunes update.

I now have my daughters iPad can you please tell me why I can't set up iCloud.in settings the iCloud is greyed out also how do I change her mail account to mine?

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID.  If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account.  If not, choose Delete from My iPad.
