Scrambled gui elements and screen fonts

i have just received the second MBP 15" matte screen that presents occasional corruption of the GUI when using applications in system preferences such as KeyBoard & Mouse settings
has anyone seen this? both units are refurbs, the second was to replace the first
i will try to change settings in and suddenly find buttons and fonts overlapping each other and not responding to the trackpad pointer
on the unit that i had to send back, the problem quickly escalated into an epidemic across all interface windows in various applications
after doing a clean install of the OS, the problem occurs before installing and applications, but apparently not until after i upgrade the OS to the new 10.5.3

Status gui, text elements and screens in Abap in Eclipse

Hello everybody,
Today i start using AiE, but i see that i can't create status gui, text elements and screens, the only method to achieve this is open sap gui (from eclipse) and create this directly there. I don't know if i am doing something wrong but i can't see how to create this objects in eclipse.
Is SAP working to implement this options directly in Eclipse without having to go to sap gui?, if that's right, when are we going to see this options directly in eclipse?.

you are right, some development objects are currently only supported in AiE using the SAP GUI integration. However, with each release more and more features become available. For example, editing message classes was added in a recent release. The best way to keep up-to-date with the features of AiE is to follow the AiE space on SDN (ABAP in Eclipse).
On thing to keep in mind is, that the availability of some features depends on the version of the backend system. Thomas Fiedler created a blog that contains the information which features are available with which backend version: ADT Feature Availability Matrix for AS ABAP Releases.

ok I found the solution. The first time, I searched in the "CSS Advanced Selectors" spec document for the solution and I found nothing about it. Then I had the "great" idea to look in the only right place which is of course "Text Primitives (TextBox, TextGraphic, and TextView)". There I found the hint about "DefineFont4" which, with some search, led me to the solution:
1. Add the new property "cff: true" in the "@font-face" css block
2. Set the property fontLookup="embeddedCFF" for the text element
et voilÃ !
I hope this will save somebody else some time!

I have given up messing with stylesheets, trying display:
block, inline, different ways of formatting the XML, messing with
XML.ignoreWhiteSpace, and XML.prettyPrinting etc.
I went down the route of encodeURI, using a RegExp to strip
out all tabs, linefeeds and carriage returns. This now gives
consistent results for all situations, even embedded and none
embedded fonts.
e.g.
_text:String = TEXT FROM XML, HTML TEXT etc
var st:String = encodeURI(_text);
var pattern:RegExp = /(%09)+|(%0A)+|(%0D)+/g;
st = st.replace(pattern, "");
st = decodeURI(st);
YOUTEXTFIELD.htmlText = st;
The <p> tags still behave as a <br/> tag, but you
can add an extra <br/> to simulate a paragraph.

KM3M-V and screen fonts

hello,
I need help.
I have upgraded my PC with KM3M-V, AMD Sempron 2500+ and DDR PC2700.
My PC (XP SP2) works fine but from time to time, the screen blanks or the fonts become progressively unreadable (the middle of each letter desappears).
I have to reboot the PC (and wait the next time).
Any idea ?
I use an ATI Radeon 9000 instead of the integrated graphic chip. Is this card compatible with KM3M-V ?

Firefox gui element capture plug in keeps causing Firefox to crash and it won't open certain windows. Any idea why?

I disabled extensions per Firefox instructions and discovered that 'firefox gui element capture plug in 1.0' is the one causing my problems. Problems being Firefox either crashes or refuses to open an additional window, and then crashes.

I am not sure why this started happening, however please update to version 32.0.3 when its available.
The places we can troubleshoot is in the Applications menu under preferences.

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

Although the security of Windows XP SP3 32 bit is compromised by Microsoft no longer supporting XP, if Windows XP was restored as claimed, you should still be able to install/uninstall Premiere Elements versions of it that you did before the Microsoft support removal.
I think a revisit to the Geeks would be in order. It may be that they could not restore Windows XP because of the Microsoft non support. I would take along the Premiere Elements installation disks so that you do not leave there without actually seeing Premiere Elements (or a non Adobe program) running on your restored Windows XP. What was the other software that you tried to use that did not work?

How can I get selection screen elements and its table reference of a report ? . I tried rs_refresh_from_select_options. But I am unable to get the table and field it is referring to
For eg if my selection screen 1000 is

Sometimes when I scroll up and down, the screen font gets funky.

Sometimes when I scroll down a page on a website, the screen font goes from being clear to blurry and kind of funky looking, like when you don't use Clear Type. Is there some setting I can change to prevent this from happening? With very small fonts, it sometimes becomes almost unreadable.

Hello toekneesee, try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

How to read the configuration for SAP GUI elements in Plant Maintenance module from SPRO and leverage the same in NWBC for HTML.

Greetings for the day!
I am working on NWBC for HTML in Plant Maintenance module.
We have configured some changes in SPRO for customizing the UI elements( like visibility, mandatory ) like tabs and fields in transactions like IW21( Create Notification).
As of now separate parallel configuration needs to be carried out in NWBC for HTML in PM module to achieve the same UI features for creating notifications and this is time consuming.
Is there any way to read the configuration done in SPRO for the SAP GUI's and leverage the same in NWBC for HTML.

This configuration is weird little bit. There is MatchExpression /app1 and MatchExpression /app2 and at the same time two <Location /weblogic> sections. Are you sure you understand what that configuration stands for?

Setting GUI elements not displaying and SwingWorkers....

I have a prototype JMS application where a JMS message handler class wraps a GUI application class. Updates are made from the wrapper class to the HMI via a public method on the GUI which then sets the numerous GUI elements. The element values are set but the display is not updated. From what I have read this is a common situation where within the GUI class the updating method should use a SwingWorker to carry out the work and to coordinate the threads. Given that this approach is not working would anyone have any suggestions as to how I can resolve this.

You can use SwingUtilities.invokeLater(...) to update the state of a GUI component.

How do I increase the size of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 MENU, PANEL and other fonts used in Photoshop Editor?

I've increased windows XP display fonts to 140 dpi, only Photoshop Elements 8 fonts did NOT increase, such as menu, panel and drop down fonts -- they remain very small and almost unreadable. All other programs menu fonts did increase.

I’m sure Adobe try to make their products as accessible as possible to all sections of the community although by its very nature certain adjustments to fine detail require the use of a mouse.
However where possible keyboard short cuts are provided, as an alternative to the drop down menus. For example to adjust levels rather than clicking Enhancements>>Lighting>>Levels you can simply press Ctr+L.
Importantly it’s possible to zoom in and out on any image in the Editor using Ctr plus or Ctr minus.
That's the only suggestion I can think of.
