Scrambled layout in muse when viewed online

It all looks fine in layout and preview mode, but Safari scrambles the layout putting various pieces all over the page.

How are you uploading your site?
If you use Muse's publish or FTP upload, Muse uploads all required files. If you are uploading the files yourself using a 3rd party FTP upload client, you'll have to be sure to upload all the files exported by Muse or you may see scrambled content if you miss some files.

FLV Audio Quality Drops when viewed online

I have a FLV playing in my SWF and when viewed locally in Flash or just in the Flash player by clicking the file on my desktop the file plays fine with decent quality audio.
However as soon as I upload the file to my website the audio quality seems to drop.
The difference is quite noticeable, is there any reason for this?

When I play in Flash its fine but when I play over the web in sounds really tinny and poor quality.

Slow/Choppy SWF Animation When View Online

When I view an swf file from my hard drive, the animation is
smooth and snappy (a good thing). After I publish the file and view
it online (with the same computer), sometimes it is noticeably
slower and choppy. I don't know a great deal about what
Flash/IE/Firefox does behind the scene, but I can't seem to make
sense out of this. When using a preloader (at least the one I'm
using), doesn't the entire flash file become cached and essentially
stored on the user's hard drive before playback? In which case, I
would think the animation would perform equally. Maybe I'm
completely off-base with this, though. Could anybody tell me the
cause for poor online animation and clear this issue up for me so I
could try to fix it? Thanks a lot.

(The framerate is currently 30 fps, which I know is not
recommended, but the higher framerate seems to compensate a bit for
the choppiness...also the animations I'm using aren't that

One thing you might wish to try is to edit the animation
properties, click the Options tab and enable the
"Synchronize with project" check box.
I'm not 100% sure that will help, but might be worth trying.

Photographs blurred when viewed online in iWeb '08

I am trying to use iWeb '08 to post a very simple photo viewing website using my MobileMe account. The pictures are SRGB JPG images, and imported to iWeb from iPhoto.
When I view the pictures online they are very blurred and distorted - I have never had a problem with this before, until about a month ago. Unfortunately the fact that my website is not displaying properly is losing me sales!
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? What particular page are you having problems with?

Mac/Browser crashes when viewing online videos (any browser)

Hi,
I've had this problem for a little while, and I'm not sure what exactly it is. Sometimes when I view a video online, whether it's Flash or Silverlight, Hulu or Netflix, the video will crash. Sometimes it's just the video, other times it's the browser, and other time it's my Mac. I've tried this on Chrome, Firefox and Safari, and it happens on all three. I thought it might be a video card issue, but I can play that are on a drive fine, and it doesn't happen when I'm editing video with Adobe Premiere.
Any suggestions?

BI Publisher Report Layout Get Distorted when viewed in different format

Hi Experts,
I am facing issue while running BI Publisher Report.
The Report Layout work fine in one output format (PDF).
But when the same report is generated in different format it get distorted (HTML,EXCEL).
Could any one please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Is there any SR raised for this issue.

Hi,
I have faced a similar issue, Finally i created a different template for each output type, and tweaked each template through trial and error till the output it provided was what i was looking for in the specified output format, I had a different template for PDF and a different one for HTML. If I used the html optimised template for PDF out, there were all sorts of alignment issues, etc.and vice versa. As for the date format, you can set the parmeter correctly using the word date format properties.

Why doesn't Adobe Reader XI load when viewing online PDFs?

This is probably a stupid question, but I noticed something odd last night. I have Adobe Reader 9 on my netbook and Adobe Reader XI on my main computer. I had been browsing some online PDF files on my netbook, and in Adobe Reader 9 I get the Reader "interface", i.e., there is the border surrounding the PDF, with the page number box at the top and I can search the document for various things. On my main computer with Adobe Reader XI, the PDF files are simply downloading and I don't have the Reader "interface" anymore, so there's no way to search for items or go to specific pages. Is there someplace to edit my settings in XI so that I get the interface? Thanks so much for your help.

Open Chrome
In the address bar, type chrome://plugins and press Enter
Scroll down to the entry called Chrome PDF Viewer and click Disable.
Scroll to the Adobe Reader or Acrobat entry and click Enable.

3D Parsing Error when viewing online?

Having an issue with users trying to view PDFs created with Presenter over our website.
Acrobat Version Created in: Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.2
Acrobat Reader Version Viewed in: Acrobat Reader 9.3.2
When the file(s) are viewed over the web they fail to launch and cause the web browser to hang as if it's perpetually trying to download/open the file. The file never opens and eventually a popup error appears (3D Parsing Error). But, if the same file(s) are downloaded and viewed locally using the same machine and same version of reader the files execute perfectly.
What's causing the 3D parsing error to occur over the web? I personally on my machine cannot reproduce this error, I'm the creator of the files and have Full Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I have reproduced it on users machines with Reader 9.3.2. Could it be an internet setting on the local machine or through something my company's IS department has set? I have not been able to test this outside of our building but plan to after hours today @ home. Until then can someone test these files for me.

Framerate drops when viewed online

I made a simple text animation in Flash for an HTML intro
page. The
framerate was at 40 fps but when the client viewed it he
asked if it could
be a little faster. So I just increased the framerate to 60
fps and it
looked fine in Flash. I took it into Dreamweaver and dropped
it in a blank
HTML page and it looks right when you preview it inside of
Dreamweaver via
the properties panel. When I uploaded the files to a server
to view on the
internet the framerate drops. I tried pushing the framerate
to 80 fps and
the animation played faster after uploading to a server, but
it still wasn't
80 fps. Any ideas why this is happening?

First, you can't guarantee the frame rate in Flash. It's all
dependent upon several factors, the main one being the ability of
the viewer's computer's processor to handle it. You almost never
get a consistent frame rate in any Flash animation.
Second, SWFs almost always play slower when placed in an HTML
file. Don't ask me why. I don't know.
Finally, taking into account that you're asking a computer to
do all that processing, increasing frame rate to 80 actually SLOWS
the playback. You're telling the processor to do 80 changes per
second rather than, say 20. It's a lot more work for the processor,
even if it's only text. 80 is way overkill. The fastest framerate
that is used is rarely more than 60, and that's nearly always in
files that are light on graphics and using lots of scripting. 15 to
30 fps is more the normal range for most web animations. Some claim
31 is ideal. There is a lot of divided opinion on what is "best".
Try it out. I wouldn't be surprised if you decrease the frame
rate to 20, it will play back faster on your client's computer than
the 80 fps version. He may have an older computer that has 50
things multitasking at once.

Pages 2, 3, 4, etc. start at the bottom of the screen when viewing online

On my website (which consists of pictures), if you're at the end of page one and click on page 2, you automatically start at the bottom of the next page. So, if you have two pages and the second page doesn't have many pictures on it, when you go to the next page, you're in blank space unless you scroll up to the top. Which means a lot of people viewing the website will think there aren't any more pictures left or will sit there waiting for them to download. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

This is definitely not normal behavior!
Where are you publishing to - MobileMe or another server?
Try publishing your site to a folder on the desktop and double click the index.html file to launch your site directly in Safari from your hard drive and check to see if the pages are loading the same as they do on the internet.
If the problem is still there you are doing something wrong in iWeb. If they are OK then the problem is a publishing one.

Text looks like it is bold when viewed online in browser

I have a site with a black background and white text.
When I create it on the desktop using plain Verdana it looks fine but when I post it all looks like it is bold.
Actually all the text looks bold no matter what font.
Any thoughts anyone?

Firefox crashes PC when viewing online videos

Whenever viewing any video on any website my PC crashes and I need to hard reboot the PC to restore.

I uninstalled Flash 11.3 and reverted back to 10.3. Adobe needs to fix this issue with Flash immediately.

When viewing online videos (news, sports etc) the audio is totally out of sync.

I use three emails (gmail, comcast and juno) and when I click on anything that has a video, the audio is out of sync with the video. I originally thought it was only Comcast.net news but their techs have not been able to improve matters. So I ran tests on the others and found they had similar problems. Cursory checks of my PC, Acer HD monitor and my two small speakers didn't reveal anything. That doesn't leave much other than Fire Fox.

If this were a project that I was involved in, I would recapture the media at the correct frame rate and rebuild the sequences correctly.
Moving from production, to post production, to delivery is a series of steps, and the success of any particular step is based on having all the preceding steps done correctly.
Shortcuts and workarounds tend to create awkward and difficult problems, that often only surface late in the process.

Photo Albums Blank When Viewed Online

I have three websites that have photo albums posted inside them and NONE of the albums are showing they have pictures in them. I can see some of them on the album menu page but not all. And none of the albums have photos inside them. It is just a blank page.
I have looked through previous topics and noone has answered previous questions regarding this yet (that I have seen) so someone please help me understand the issue. Is it Apple?

I had an identical problem. I ran a software update (this was for Leopard) and then it came up fine. I saw nothing listed in the update concerning iWeb so I'm not sure why there was a disconnect between the album page and the photo page or if the update helped. I tried deleting the album page and saw that the photo pages were still intact. So I created a work-around by adding links to individual photo pages on a new BLANK page. That worked but defeated the purpose of having an album page to begin with!
There were suggestions that album pages had incorrect code on other Mac discussion boards. I know nothing about that so if that's the problem, I'm in trouble too.
Is Apple addressing this problem?!

In Dreamweaver 6, I created a new fluid layout. I set up (4) DIVs. In the 3rd div, I changed the font color. The new color shows up on the website when viewed in my computer desktop, but, when viewed in a tablet and a cell phone, the color of the font does not change. It's the same in Dreamweaver's Live view. It shows the new color on Desktop view and not in the cell phone or tablet view. Also, I changed the font itself in one of the DIVs and it shows up in the new font on the desktop view and website viewed thru the computer, but, not on the tablet or cell phone. Can someone please explain. I want to be able to change the fonts and colors for viewing in the tablet and cell phone, also. The fonts were all standard fonts. Sans-erif and Verdana and Arial were tried. Thanks.
