Scratchy sound over BT audio

I have been using BT audio in my Ford Fiesta with three phones (Sony Ericsson and IPhones) without any issues.  The X3-02 sound through BT is absolutely horrid. No low frequencies at all. In fact the sound through the inbuilt speaker is better.  I have rebooted the phone and checked the settings, but no joy. Has Nokia never made a phone before?
Anyone else with this problem?

It might be that your sound card isn't capable of handling the load of the game and iTunes together. Do you have another sound card that you can try?

  • System sounds over USB audio out

I have a white Macbook hooked up to my JVC receiver through USB (It uses the venerable Burr-Brown chipset, so you can hook it straight up to a USB port), through a USB hub.
All is well, and my iTunes list plays through the receiver's speakers just fine, as do DVDs, CDs and whatnot.
However, the system's own sound (the Ping of received mail, or the gentle swoosh of the trash can emptying) do not. They continue to play over the laptop's own 2 speakers.
In the Audio pane in System Preferences, everything is set correctly. The selected output device is the receiver, in the sound effects tab in the same pane I can set the receiver as the selected output device, but system sounds keep playing through the internal speakers.

I appreciate the answer, but if you read my question thoroughly you will notice this: "In sound settings, both Input and Output are set to the M-Track"
Most audio routes properly.  It is strictly system notifications (New emails, File transfer completed, etc) that routes to the internal audio.

  • Qosmio F60-118: Internal Microphone sounds over the Speakers

Since a few weeks every time I accidentaly touch the internal microphone I can hear a scratchy sound over the built-in speakers. Though in the System Control is the microphone deactivated. Any ideas how to switch off the internal microphone are very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The Microphone has two main volumes.
The Recording Volume, which you can set high.
The Playback Volume (found in the Speaker output settings), which is the feedback you are hearing. You may mute this volume.
If you still hear feedback, Skype or another program may be taking control of the Mic Volume.

  • Scratchy sound coming from speakers

    # After searching the forum,?I had to post. I have the X-Fi Xtreme Audio card installed. When I playback any songs or videos, i get a scratchy sound from the audio. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled twice with no improvement. Please help!

It's a shame a company this large doesn't have some moderators that will at least help pointing you in the right direction. I did consumer electronics repair for many years but that's been like 20 years ago. I came into the field just as we were switching from tubes to solid state. Fortunately electrons still flow in the same direction and block diagrams are still pretty much the same for most things.
I'm having the same problem with a THX 550 5. surround sound system. That scratchy sound unfortunately can come from many things from leaky electolytic capacitors to amplifier transitors breaking down to a physical aspect which is... if you have overdri'ven your speakers too many times the coils can be cooked which creates a scratchy sound as the speaker cone moves forward and backward. To make sure that is or isn't the problem get access to the speaker cone and apply pressure EVENLY to the cone and push it in and listen for the scratching. By evenly I mean put a couple of fingers on opposite sides of the cone and GENTLY? push in. Depending on the size of the speaker it travels a very little bit. Say on a 2? inch woofer the travel might be something like a quarter to half inch of travel. If that's your problem solution is simple... replace it. If not I'ld start looking at the larger electrolytic caps in the amplifier section. The only way to check these without a good and I mean good cap checker, the cheap ones will lie to ya, is to simply remove and replace. Best bet is if you can replace the board itself.
Hope that helps you a little.

  • Qosmio G50 No sound over HDMI

*Qosmio G50 No sound over HDMI*
    Hi all,
Hopefully anyone recognises the following and would be so kind to help me. I have searched the forum and tried severall of the offered solutions mainly applicable to Vista, but still.
I hooked up my Qosmio G50 to my Philips LCD by HDMI cable. Picture is ok but there is no sound. I tested the cable with a Toshiba Satelite Pro L550 and it works allright. Picture and Sound are working. But that laptop has Intel HDMI audio.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I upgraded by Toshiba update DVD from Vista 64 bit. Sadly I do not know for sure if HDMI audio did work before that. I think so because I did use the laptop for watching a movie on a Panasonic plasma. But I can not remember if that was before or after the upgrade.
Realtek HD Audio device is installed driver version 6.0.1.5923
Realtek HDMI Output is selected als default playback device.
Testing gives me graphical response ( the indicator flashes ) but no audible sound from my tv.
Choosing the other audio device Realtek Digital output changes nothing and I do not believe that this would work anyway.
I have tried removing the device and reinstalling the original drivers. I have tried REaltek drivers from their website.
I have tried changing the view to HDMI only but that does nog change anything either.
One thing that worries me is that under Sound / Realtek HDMI Output / properties / Supported Formats there are no formats present. The Satelite gives me DTS audio and some other. So I am wondering if there should be formats present and if so how can I change this / add any.
Please forgive me if there are errors in the text. I am translating this from a dutch language version of Windows 7.
Please help me. Any suggestions are welcome!

Jeka-?? & PinkPanther thanks for your replies!
The solution for the G30 you mention is not the one for me I am sorry to say. I have tried that one allready. Windows automatically switches on the HDMI audio out when I connect an HDMI cable. Connecting the cable before switching on the TV and laptop is a good thing to try because it eliminates possible problems with the connection. The connection in my case is ok.
At some point I concluded that there must be a softwareproblem of some sort.
I have found the solution over night. Could not sleep anyway. I did not know that the videodrivers are also handling HDMI audio out but in a way it makes sense. I have completely deinstalled the NVIDIA video drivers. After downloading the latest drivers and installing them everything works absolutely fine!

  • Scratchy sound dynex 27" tv

Hello, I purchased a 27" dynex for christmas.  since day one it had scratchy noise from the left speaker, it was only a few channels at first but slowly progressed until almost all channels were affected.  I took it back to BB who sent it off for repairs.  The tech. called me while working on the TV and said he didn't hear any scratch sound but would replace the speakers and sound card anyway.  Got the TV back and within 1 hour started hearing the scratchy sound again.  Now, before I take it back again, how can check to see if it is the cable signal or not.  Or should I just take it back to be looked at again?  I'm using coaxial, would changing the input make a difference?  Thanks, Jeff

are you using the correct audio input mode on the dynex because if not i know what you are hearing? check the various input modes plus the various output modes on your cable box also because it may be the output mode causing it and not the input mode if you are using a cox box that is. i can put my dynex on the wrong mode also and can't even understand a persons voice its so bad. check everything it may not be the tv it's most likely the tv's settings instead or the converter box settings.....

before i noticed these error messages happening in the background shell window of rdesktop, i tried to see if the problem was on the output itself, so i tried to play an mp3 to see if my amplifier was correctly pulling the signal from the arch box, and i couldnt play an mp3 either, but this may be related to smb:// errors.  i will tackle that one later.  finally i heard an error beep through my speakers which means archbox is outputting sound correctly, then i saw the error messages which is basically saying that something is tying up my audio device.
what could be tying it up?

after ending process of knotify the sound is back.  so do i check into a problem with knotify?  when i end the process, it does come back, so i wonder if the next time knotify has to output a sound this will happen again, or some condition unknown will cause it to happen again.
this could be a kernel problem correct?

In Windows XP, in "Sound and Audio Divice Propierties", in tab "Audio", in group box "Sound Playback" Default Divece is "Crystal WDM Audio".

  • Airport Express - Airtunes Scratchy Sound

Transmitting music via Airport Express to remote speakers via Airtunes produces scratchy sound. Not as good as connecting speaker to direct iTunes output via computer out-jack.
    I am using D-Link Router DIR-625 compatible with 802.11n
Does Airport express have a sound fidelity limitation?
    John

Does the coding and decoding produce some loss of sound fidelity?
It is also important to note that the AX functions only at a 44.1kHz sample rate. When you play 32kHz or 48kHz data, iTunes sample-rate-converts the data in real time before sending it to the AX.
iTunes uses a QuickTime CODEC to convert audio files to Apple Lossless, and then, uses AirTunes to send them to the AX. In turn, the AX uses built-in software that converts the Apple Lossless to an Encoded Digital Audio format. From there, digital audio is sent to a optical transceiver to convert the electrical signal to an optical one before sending it to the innermost part of the audio port. The digital output is a bit-for-bit match of the source stream. Little or no sound fidelity is "lost."
However, for analog, the AX has a built-in DAC to convert the Encoded Digital Audio to Analog which is sent to the same audio port. In this case, some "loss" of fidelity can be expected. To overcome this, some folks incorporate an external DAC.

  • Scratchy sound in iTunes! (No problems in Quicktime) - frustrating!

    Hello everybody,
When playing audio in iTunes 10 the sound is scratchy. If a song starts out very quietly, eg. with only an acoustic guitar, there is a very noticeable scratchy sound almost every time a note is played. This is extremely frustrating when listening to any kind of music.
I'm on a brand new MacBook Pro, everything is up to date. I also had these sound scratch issues with my old MacBook, so I was hoping they'd be gone on my brand new MacBook... Guess not.
Anyway, I tried EVERYTHING to locate the problem. Here's what I discovered yesterday:
-I imported a brand new CD into iTunes
-Then, when I played the imported files in iTunes, the scratchy sound was there. Frustrating.
    Here's what I don't understand:
When playing back the very same files using QuickTime, or even using Quick Look in the Finder, there's NO scratchy sound. The output level is a bit lower, that's all - but no scratchy sounds whatsoever. The files sound perfect and awesome in QuickTime and Quick Look.
So, what should I do now?
Using QuickTime to play all my music seems pretty rediculous, to say the least. The whole point of iTunes is to organize and play your music. So this bothers me quite a bit.
It seems to me that this is an iTunes issue.
Hope to hear from some of you.
    Best,
    balloonhorsens

    Hi guys,
Just stumbled across this post on Google and I just want to say that I am experiencing the same problem and I have the equalizer turned off! I am running my iMac with a USB sound card to my amp and into B&W floorstanding speakers which all work VERY well.
Similar to the guy above my songs are playing very well with QuickTime - not a problem at all, but with iTunes 10 something isn't quite right. Basically when a song gets slightly bassier it tends to sound scratchy - e.g. A hard strum of a guitar. I know this isn't right and I am certain it is an issue with iTunes - the equalizer is turned off but sound check is on (with sound check off it sounds worse).
What I struggle to understand is that all of my songs have been sync'd to my iPhone 4 and those songs which sounded scratchy on iTunes on my iMac sound fine on he phone - even when I go out of the headphone jack of my phone straight to my amp!!
Please, please can somebody resolve this issue - I love high quality sound and if the iMac insists that I play and organize a bulk of my music with iTunes then it needs to sound right because at he moment the likes of John Mayer are sounding rough!
One of the main songs we could use as an example would be a song by Mumford and Sons called "After the Storm".
Thank you in advance to anybody with any advice.
    Luke

  • Clicking sound when streaming audio in Safari

    hello,
has anybody ever experienced a clicking sound when streaming audio over the internet? i have no idea where to begin to fix this problem.
    amber

    Dear Amber,
I am experiencing the same problem on my iMac G5 when I am streaming movies from ANY browser AND when I watch trailers on Front Row.
I think the QuickTime plugin has a problem streaming audio while the movie downloads, especially when the file is large (as in the case of Front Row streaming movies, where the files are all HD).
If other applications are open concurrently, the problem is even more noticeable, because QuickTime 7 consumes a lot of resources and if you do not have enough RAM (and 512 MB does not seem to be enough with OS X 10.4.4) it will strive to perform.
You may check how much memory is used by your computer by opening the Acivity Monitor utility.
I hope Apple will become aware of the problem and suggest a workaround, because otherwise QT 7 is exceptional.
    Ciao,
    Alessandro

  • Can x-fi output 44100Hz PCM sound over spdif connectio

Can the x-fi platinum output 4400Hz PCM sound over the optical/coaxial connections? Or can it only do 48kHz and 96kHz?
Because if i play a flac file that is 4400Hz my yamaha rx-v700 receiver says its getting 48kHz.
When I play 48kHz my receiver says its getting 48kHz.
When I play 96kHz my receiver says its getting 96kHz.
So im wondering if the x-fi is limited to outputting only 48 or 96kHz over spdif connections.
Because I can see other sound cards like auzentech says this regarding spdif output for their cards: Supports 44. kHz / 48kHz / 96kHz S/PDIF Output through both Coaxial RCA and Optical Toslink

WMP and CMSP don't change the master clock (at least in my case), the sampling rate is auto-detected only when I use KS or ASIO output plugins with foobar2000.
Maybe the bit-matched mode works only when kmixer is bypassed (though, I've seen same problems mentioned w/ X-Fi + asio4all drivers in foobar)?
Here is the description for bit-matched mode.

  • Tactics 3D: Issues with scratchy sound, other questions

    Hai Guyz,
I have recently purchased a Tactics Rage 3D headset. It was on clearance at the poast exchange marked down from $80 to $40. I would like to say that first of all I love the software that comes with it. Anyway, I have managed to install the headset with no issues. However, oftentimes the sound will be crystal clear for several minutes, then suddenly becomes scratchy. Oftentimes, closing the program I am using (E.G. Second Life, Itunes, Firefox, Skype) remedies this. However, when I am playing a Game that takes a long time to load, closing and relaunching the program is a bit of a hassle. I have posted to the Creative Facebook wall, and a representative suggesting installing the headset on another computer, as well as re-installing the drivers and firmware. I am unable to use another PC as I only own one laptop, and am uncomfortable installing things on a friend's computer. Anyway, here are my questions below:
1.) Is there a solution to the issues I have had with scratchy sound? The box advertises the product as a gaming headset, but gaming is where I have the most issues(As closing most other programs takes only a few seconds).
2.) Is there a smaller dongle available? The bluetooth Dongle for my wireless mouse is small and unobtrusive enough that I can simply leave it in. However, the one that came with the headset makes it difficult to use my mouse, as well as pack my laptop(since I have to take the dongle out).
3.) I have noticed while browsing there forums that there is a v1 and v2 of the tactics Rage. How am I able to tell which version that I own?
4.) I wish to give customer feedback on both the pros and cons of this headset, where would be the most appropriate place to do so?

    Hi Sinophile,
From what I know, there is no smaller dongle available.
For V2.0 of the headset, V2.0 is written on the packaging box. I have checked the firmware download page for both Tactic3D Rage Wireless and Tactic3D Rage Wireless V2.0 it seems that they are having the same firmware. And the firmware upgrade will make the headset support USB audio on PlayStation 4.
The firmware update will upgrade the Tactic3D Rage Wireless to have the same feature as Tactic3D Rage Wireless V2.0
However, it is not recommended to upgrade the headset's firmware as there are many threads in this forum that says upgrading the firmware bricks the USB dongle and their headset do not work anymore.
You may want to try to give your feedback by clicking 'Contact Us'>'Email Us' on Creative's website.

  • No sound coming from Audio Loops

    Hi,
I was in a studio session with an artist today and upon reopening Logic Pro X after a lunch break, the audio loops from the loop library are not playing. I've created a new project and dragged the loops into new tracks and they still won't play. It shows there are levels but no sound is coming out. I tried the same thing with midi loop files and those will play fine with perfect sound. I have double checked my speaker system and restarted Logic and the Computer multiple times but it still won't play any sound for any audio loops. Can anyone help me with finding a solution for this?
    Thanks!

I had no idea what that was until I searched for it. But I found it and made sure it was set for "Built-in Input" for "Default Input" under System Settings, and also "Built-in Input" by Properties For... then down under Audio Input it has "Line In" as the Source... everything looks fine but I'm still not hearing anything. I even tried adding my mixer as a MIDI device(???), although I've no clue what I'm doing in that area...

  • Scratchy Sound When Sliding Through Covers in Cover Flow View in iTunes 8

Anyone having problems with a scratchy sound as you slide through covers in the cover flow view in iTunes 8?
Also sliding too fast has caused app to crash.

The scratchy sound seems to have come up a few times with iTunes 8 (including in a couple of other threads that I can't find right now). It seems to have picked up around the last QT update, which was coincident with the iTunes upgrade.
    (post updated)
I must admit, I didn't read closely at 7:30 in the morning, and didn't see this was just happening to OP with cover flow.
But there have been a number of people (including me) complaining of general scratchiness in iTunes 8 and AirTunes that seems traceable to the last QT update. Be glad you aren't in my situation, where it's ALWAYS scratchy.
