Screed dies during reinstall of fw on n97mini

Hello everyone
I hope i can find someone here who can help me.
After getting my phone back from repairs (IT HAS BEEN THERE 5!!!!! TIMES IN 6 MONTHS) it again started to mess around on the first day trying to install something, and than telling me installer not working. so i thought a fullreset and reinstalling of fw would help. The problem is that during reinstall it tellsme that connectivity to device has been lost (ovi that is) and the screen of the phone dies slowly meaning it starts fading, than lines going through it than screen comming backon with nokia written on it. at that point the phone startd to charge again, but i can't switch it on. I need to remove the battery. phone starts againand is working again.
Does anyone know how to fixthis? Atthis point the repairshop had the phone more often than i do, everythinghas been replaced including twice the screen, memory card reader, keypad, mechanical componen (also twice whatever that means) and the logic board.
If there is anyone who has an answer i'd be very happy.
Kindregards
zero

During a FW install it is normal for the screen to go blank and the computer to say it is disconnected ! Just try to re-install firmware again. Make sure battery is fully charged , then connect and re-install firmware, do nothing to the phone untill the computer tells you to !

  • HT1925 during reinstall I get an error message regarding itunes.msi file.

I have uninstalled itunes according to these instrutions, but during reinstall I still get an arror message regarding itunes.msi file.  How do I fix this?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Mac Mini Intel Snow leopard often dies during sleep. What to do next?

During sleep the screen goes blank on a light grey color and I can only shut down using the power button. I am using an apple blue tooth keyboard and a logitech USB remote mouse. I have run Disk Repair w Utilities and also the MUG has tried Disk Warrior but problem persists. The Mac Mini is about 3 years old. It occasionally also crashes in Safari or Word. Please advise. Am worried about losing files, but so far so good.

I assume you have a current backup, so I would start by erasing the drive and reinstalling OS X.
    Drive Preparation
    1.  Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Upon completion quit DU and return to the installer. Install OS X. When completed you can restore your data from the backup.

Thanks, that definitely sheds some light on the problem.
We monitored the server and came up with the following. The queue isindeed
growing and probably accounts for the eventual failure (does anyone know
what the limit is?). The throughput is constant but just can't keep upwith
the requests. Another thing is that the heap slowly increases along with
the queue and it took a while for it to hit 100% and have GC occur.I am not sure about the limit. Either 32K or 64K, I guess. If you monitor
your queue lenght frequently, you might have a chance to spot that limit.
Every request need memory to hold. So the heap slowly increases along with
    the queue.
    >
Now, we duplicated the test but accessed a Servlet directly instead of a
JSP. This servlet simply did some out.print(...) statements to displaythe
same page as Hello.jsp. This ran without a hitch. We had about 5 times
more throughput and the queue wasn't growing out of control. Also, theheap
would reach 100% much quicker and GC occured more frequently. I can't see
how handling a JSP request is that much more resource intensive than a
    Servlet request...
We then tried the original test again (accessing JSP) but this timeremoved
Service pack 3. We were running straight WLS 5.1 (no service packs).
Everything behaved nicely (just like the Servlet test did). Could it then
be that SP3 introduced a bug relating to how JSP requests are handled?Well, if this was the case, you might need to address this with support.
    >
Finally, all the tests ran without changing the default number of execute
threads (15). I don't think increasing the number will help seeing how
short-lived these requests are. I think more execute threads would just
increase the context-switching.I agree. I've seen 15 to 60 threads in production. Might be worth a try to
use larger number of threads in your test to see if it alleviated the
    problem.

WebLogic has its interal request queue to enqueue all requests. Therequest
refers to an unit of work for weblogic to process, such as a triggeredtime
service, http request, etc. The finite number of worker threads defined
    in
your weblogic.properties file will dequeue the requests inside therequest
    queue and process the work.
There is an upper limit on the size of this queue. The message you gotmeans
that your test hit that limit. In practice, if there were lots of
    requests
inside that queue, every request need to wait for lots of time beforebeing
processed (the queue is FIFO I believed). Open your WebLogic Console and
monitor the size of the queue, in your test or in your production, if
    you
see the size of the queue increases constantly, there is somethingwrong.
You might need to increase the number of threads to handle the load. If
tuning up the number of threads doesn't help, you might need useweblogic
clustering (or add more servers in your clustering) to share the load.
WebLogic engineers might be able to lift up the upper limit of the sizeof
the queue. However, the larger upper limit on the queue might not helpyou
in practice. Tuning your configuration and making sure the number of
requests inside the queue do not increase constantly might be a good
    practice to follow.
    My 2 cents.

  • Laptop dies during sleep

My MacBook Pro usually could be returned back to life if the battery flattened out during sleep, with everything as it was; running applications and open documents.
Then recently I had to reinstall the system and ever since this function is absent. Now, if the battery gets flat during sleep, it leads to a certain death. Meaning that the machine has to be restarted and all applications that were running have lost what had not been saved. I have looked for a system dialog where this setting is operated, but no luck. Anybody got a tip?
    Message was edited by: jonkiBoy

After a bit of research I have learned that the issue is "Safe Sleep". For some reason this default function is missing after reinstalling the system. There is nowhere mention (where I have looked) of how to turn this on or off. ??

  • HT201366 When I try to install this update on 10.6.8, it dies during the installation

During the install, just after it says "moving files into place with shove" it then goes into failed state and has a 'ok' button to continue & reboot.
    The /var/log/system.log shows:

I have Mac OS 10.6.8 installed.

Repair permissions, restart your computer, reinstall the update directly from Apple's download website instead of Software Update - Security Update  2013 - 003 ( Snow Leopard).
After the installation, repair permissions and restart your computer again.

thks for your advise. I already updated the Oracle Client to version 10.2.0.2.
The upgrade from CRM 5.0 to CRM 6.0 - 2007 is still running, but theres nothing happens in PHASE SETSYNC_EULCK_D1. This Phase comes after the EU_Imports 1-7.
In the log directory there ist also nothing the indicates about errors.

  • Macbook Pro frozen during reinstall of OS X 10.8 update

    Hello,
My standard 13" Macbook Pro (2012) completed the OS X 10.8.5 update and upon rebooting it froze at the silver apple screen with the loading circle for awhile and finally booted up. I was skyping and it froze up and then I couldn't get it past the apple silver loading screen. I left it like this for a day and nothing changed. I then started in safe mode, tried to reinstall and it froze, I zapped the PRAM, ran disk utility repair, and tried to reinstall again and it got stuck saying it had 33 hours left. I left it up overnight and there was no change. I plugged in an ethernet cord and tried to reinstall the update and am down to 32 seconds left on the download, but I don't have high hopes. Anything else I can do before giving in and making a trek to the apple store?
    Thanks

I've been trying to reinstall from safe or recovery mode. Whichever I get to by holding down Option. My computer won't get past the silver loading screen so unfortunately I can't get to a combo update. Below are the steps I completed for a SMC reset and again I got stuck at the silver loading screen.
Shut down the computer. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time. Press the power button to turn on the computer

  • Error 1406/1402 during reinstall

I cannot figure out what is wrong with my iTunes. I am attempting a reinstall, but it will not let me. I have a 1406 error (HKEYLOCALMACHINE/software/classes/.cdda/openwithlist/Tunes.exe) and a 1402 error. I have tried everything I can, shut down spyware blockers, virus protection, stand alone Quick Time, but it will not work.
I am running Mozilla FireFox if that matters.

Make sure to go through the steps in that article before trying anything else.

  • Battery dies during phone software update, L520 no...

Have an issue. I tried installing the next update on my L520 after the successful installation of the Amber update. During the installation of the update, my battery ran out and then i plugged it into the power source and now all i get is the spinning gears for the past 10 hours without anything to show any installation progress. How do i resolve this?I have tried to do the soft and hard reset but once the phone bootsup all i see is the same gears all over again

    Hi, eyekay234.
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear about what had happened to your deivce. How did you perform the soft reset? Is it by pressing and holding both the volume down and the power button for 15 seconds? How about the hard reset? Did you do it this way:
Make sure your phone is powered off.
Press and hold the 'volume down' button.
    Briefly press the 'power' button.
Keep the 'volume down' button held until you see an '!' on the screen.
When the '!' appears, press the following buttons in order:
    'volume up'
    'volume down'
    'power'
    'volume down'
Your phone will now be reset and will power back on slowly. Once powered back up, complete the set-up guide for your phone.
You can also let the battery completely drain and then connect the phone to the charger and wait until it boots up.
If those troubleshooting steps did not work, you can try to use the Nokia Software recovery tool. See:
    http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/software-recovery/
Please let us know how it will go.

  • Lost iWorks during Reinstall - Help

I am a new Mac user and it has not been easy. I have had a number of freezes and software compatibility issues with the new leopard OS. This reached a point where I was advised to do a reinstall of the Leopard OS and erase old files. I had not transferred any files over from my PC so this was agreeable. However, now that I have done this, I no longer have iWorks on my computer. I thought it would be on the OS CD but it was not. What do I do???

Apple has warned that archive and install and erase and install will not replace certain parts of Apple Software that would have been retained in Upgrade install of Leopard. They have a tech note out that says that if you do not do an Upgrade install but choose one of the others, that you will have to reinstall the Apple Software. If you bought iWork and payed for it, you may have a registration. If you payed for a registration of the iWork that was preinstalled as a 30 day demo, you should have received a registration notification.
Apple has the tech note that says that if one chooses archive and install or erase and install... that one will need to reinstall the purchased Apple Software. This includes iLife 08, iWorks 08, and some pro software. The Apple software installs to the system and those parts are not retained unless you do an Upgrade install of Leopard.
If you just began using a mac, you may not yet have exceeded the 30 day demo. The demo would have been included on your original OSX install dvds that came with your computer and you can reinstall it by going to the disc and selecting Install Bundled Software.
If you had not already paid for the iWork suite, simply go to the Apple Store and purchase the retail install. All that is included when you originally buy your mac is the demo, not the registration that takes it past the 30day trial.

  • HELP! Mac Mini Server Journaling issue during reinstall

    H E L P !
    Mac Mini Server Journaling issue...
    Hi there,
I have taken on a nearly new Mac Mini Server running Snow Leopard.
It has a RAID set up already.
When I try to reinstall the OS from the original disk the installation willl not let me select the drive as it says it is not journaled.
I have then opened Disk Utility and selected the main HD (there is one HD plus 2 Raid slices listed).
From this point on there are no options available:
The only 2 tabs above the right hand window are 'First Aid' and 'RAID'.
First Aid shows all 4 options greyed out.
Selecting the main HD and then going to File>Enable Journaling will not work as 'Enable Journaling' is greyed out.
Deleting the RAID does not work either, as the HD (mirrored RAID set) and both RAID sclices have the padlock icon next to them.
    Can anyone help?
I really need to reinstall the OS and set the machine up with a TimeMachine Capsule asap!
    Many thanks,
    Haberdashery

    Sorted!
All is good now : )

  • [SOLVED]Failed to lookup alias 'nvidia' (X server dies during startop)

    Hello there everybody.
I recenly reinstalled Arch so that I could have a nice, clean install, and also because I though I was having trouble with the systemd migration.  I think I was wrong there.
I successfully installed using the February 1st cd.  Since that time, I have been unable to boot into a graphical system.
I have the current proprietary nvidia drivers installed - I tried with an older set with no change, and I tried the Nouveau drivers and got as far as a blinking cursor on TTY7 (but similar X server errors), so I abandoned that route (I want the proprietary drivers).
    systemctl status kdm
    returns
    kdm.service - K Display Manager
    Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/kdm.service; enabled)
Active: active (running) since Sat 2013-03-23 08:42:09 EDT; 19 min ago
    Main PID: 289 (kdm)
    CGroup: name=systemd:/systemd/kdm.service
    └─289 /usr/bin/kdm -nodaemon
Mar 23 08:42:10 awesomeDelicious kdm[289]: X server for display :0 cannot be started, session disabled
Following advice on another thread, I issued
    echo 'nvidia' >> /etc/modules-load.d/nvidia.conf
but I don't think that helps at all, as
    /lib/systemd/systemd-modules-load
    returns
Failed to lookup alias 'nvidia': Function not implemented
so I am currently at a loss.  I'd like to be able to get back into KDE as soon as I can, so any help is much appreciated!

...so I seem to have a problem with ABI version?
A quick search shows that some people have fixed this with an ignoreABI option somewhere, is this advisable, and how would I accomplish it?
    Anyway yes further advice please!
