Screen appears to be shrinking in places!?
Had my z3 compact less than 2 months but recently noticed the screen is closing in, in certain places! But here's the thing, it goes back to normal! No particular time frame but can be instant, can be next time I look at my phone or mostly over night while phone Is on charge. the shrinking affect appears to be worsed today, and is yet to correct it's self. There is no physical damage and most definitely not been dropped! Any ideas?? Any possible causes??
It's not a problem unless you want to re-write the laws of physics

iMac screen appears to have smudges under the glass along the top of the screen. They are not on the surface and it doesn't matter what wallpaper is in place. Anyone else had this happen?
The " glass" front of your iMac is really not glass, at all, but an optically clear polycarbonite (plastic) that a black border painted or possibly "printed" on the backside (to hide the strong magnets that hold this cover on) that has a metal frame glued to the back to which this frame is held in place with very strong magnets.
You use one or two small suction cups or a suction cup from a windshield mounted mobile GPS mount or purchase a small commercial glass cup, that is used to handle bare glass, to get the polycarbonite frame off.
The reason I mention the material is polycarbonite is that you should NOT be using ANY type of retail/commercial window glass cleaners on this front glass or on the LCD screen.
Polycarbonite easily scratches and clouds when using ANY conventional glass cleaning solutions.
You need to use a lint-free, microfiber style cloth dampened in warm water (completely wring the water out of the microfiber cloth to the point cloth is just warm and damp with NO water dripping at all from the cloth) and use this to get the screen and glass don't screen clean. -
Recently when I open any apps the pages are too big for the screen. They shrink when pinched but immediately become bigger again. It's very difficult to scroll too. The keypad has become very sticky. Missing letters and spaces when I type and needing to tap the keys much harder than usual
I have the exact same problem, I think. I was on my iPad 3's home page swiping R-L to locate a certain icon when all of a sudden the screen appeared to get HUGE. So big I could only see one or two icons. I couldn't even turn it off to try a reboot because after I pushed the sleep/wake button, I couldn't find the red slide bar. I finally just had to wait for the battery to die, then recharge it, and it looked normal again. I also spoke with several friends who haven either iPads or iPhones, and they've all had this happen to them. I checked my accessibility settings, and Zoom was already off. So what is causing this problem for so many people, and what can we do to prevent it? Please help.

I tried it and i realize it might not work because my home button stop working
should i go to an ishop or will i be able to fix it?
I hook up my ipod to the computer and its not reading it anymore...
(4th generation)Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Neglect the Restt. When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use one of these programs
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hello
just did the the new upgrade and now half of my songs are not playing. A screen appears and says you need to search for your music in folders. What the heck happen with this ? Anybody have any issues too? This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

When I try to open I Movie thes screen appears with the message "creating thumbnails" and then freezes. None of my events or projects appear in the libraries. I cannot close I Movie or my computer and have to force shut down my Macbook. This is a sudden occurence.
You can never, never transfer an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and it strews stuff all over your hard drive in places the migration assistant is not programmed to look. Now you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
after which you can go around and manually remove all the bits from Applications, the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and your username>library>preferences. Spotlight will not help with this; it's programmed to skip these kinds of files.
Then you can reinstall from scratch. Let us know if you need help finding the library folders. -
I searched the forum before posting this question, but may have missed an on-topic post with my screen appearance problem.
While using the computer, the screen appearance abruptly changed: the image was magnified so much that it does not fit the screen. I tried using system preferences to change the display settings, but if I shrink the setting then not all the screen is displayed; there are ugly random colors in a square block pattern on the edges.
I have only had the computer a few days, the OS is the Snow Leopard, but I couldn't recall (or find written) the OS number. It's the smaller of the new Imac screens, 21-inches I think, not the 27-inch.Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Have you tried to reset the PRAM and reset the SMC? These actions may resolve your abrupt problem. If not you certainly want to call Apple as it may be a serious graphics issue.
To reset the PRAM, shutdown the computer, press the start button, as soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the COMMAND OPTION P R keys until you hear two more boot chimes, then release the keys. That may be all you need to do.
To reset the SMC, shutdown the computer, unplug all power to the computer, press and hold the start button for at least five seconds, plug the power cord back into the iMac, press the power button normally to boot up.
If neither of these procedures help. you can execute the Apple Hardware Test, by inserting your Applications Install DVD, restart the computer and hold down the D key until you have booted. This will boot you right into the Apple Hardware Test program. That might show you that you have a bad braghics card or some bad memory, etc. You'll need to call Apple then. -
Just installed adobe iplayer for the umpteeth time.
Then decided to have a software update immediately on my mac.
Then a small screen appeared afterwards stating maleware virus removed.
What do I do now? Was not aware that I had a virus in the first place. That latest update is a removal tool for the Flashback trojan.
One of the ways the earlier versions of that trojan were distributed was through fake Adobe Flash downloaders.
Why are you repeatedly installing Adobe Flash Player? (not iPlayer - that's a BBC thing.)
The only place from which to get the Flash Player plug-in is directly from Adobe themselves - Never Trust a Pop Up that says you have a missing plugin!
Also be aware that the Flash Player is not a standalone player; it's a plug-in which installs in the Library and is available for all the browsers to use.
As for what you do now?
Nothing for the moment - you should be clear.
But to be on the safe side, go to the Prefences for each of your browsers and disable Java (not JavaScript - that's a whole different animal). As Java is the vector used by the most recent versions, that should ensure you don't get reinfected. -
Everything on screen appearing in its negative
I was working back and forth between a website and a Word document when everything on my screen appeared in its negative: pictures of people on websites look like photographic negatives (or almost like x-rays) and words in my Word document that were once just plain black are now white. The basic screen that comes up after I tried shutting the computer down and turning it back on again looks sort of like it is "back lit"....... Did I click on something accidentally?
Thanks, Niel! That's much better!! That was a weird experience--I wonder how I managed to shift it in the first place....but now I know what to do if it happens again. Thanks for writing back so quickly.

I've bought my S10e in April 2009. it worked properly until a month ago when i was browsing, this blue screen appears suddenly and Windows (XP SP3, home edition) restarts. It happens too fast that i cannot read the message. after logging in this message rises: the system has recovered from a serious error.... and i send the issue to Microsoft. I use Google Chrome as browser. I think when i'm online using WiFi, it happens. I uninstalled chrome but it happened again with Firefox when it tried to open a web page reporting the problem to Microsoft.
I used the check disk tool in Windows but didn't help. I've two drives, Windows run on C: capacity=30 GB, free space=4 GB.
I've run CCleaner to optimize registry before these blue screens.
I also have Kaspersky Internet security installed on my netbook. it works fine.
I've got all Microsoft updates.
Is it the problem of bios? or what?
please help me because i'm very dependent on my S10e.
ThanksHi and welcome,
... if that happen again.. look in system event log file...there could be a hint whats going wrong..

your 13-inch Mid 2009 MacBook Pro requires 1066 MHz RAM, but you have 1333 MHz RAM installed. Try replacing the 1333 MHz RAM with 1066 MHz RAM — Macs can be picky about the RAM which they find acceptable. -
I installed Yosemite and now my computer is slow when logging in. Also when I type my password, a bar appears measuring the process and then all of a sudden the screen images are distorted. After that my home screen appears and everything seems normal. What can I do to fix this?

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Alternatively, see:

Choose the version you have installed now:
OS X Yosemite- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X

if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
I want to uninstall Acrobat reader. I got support in the community to access my HD and to send to trash the internet plugs in for PDF viewer, but when I try to download a PDF from internet a black screen appears and preview doesn't open
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
