Screen broke

My screen is cracked I can only see some things, I was using a HDMI cord connected to another screen. I factory reset my laptop and now I can't get the images to appear on the other screen.

My ipad screen broke today whilst it was in a case and in my bag the thing is it fell from about ankle height and about 45% is cracked its still usable though and i use it every day and its really important but i have no money and its not insured will i have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to fix it? :(

Unless this is an iPad 3 with Apple Care +, the Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage. Apple will sell you a new iPad at a reduced rate, depending on the model. It can cost as much as US$400+.
Or if you are not concerned about having your Apple warranty you can get a 3rd party repair shop to fix it for much less than the replacement cost.

I'm assuming you can..now I don't know the prices for your area, you'll have to check around, I just did a quick web search and I'm pulling all sorts of prices up, I'd look into a repair facility near you and see what they can do for you :-) shouldn't be too expensive though! Good luck!

They'll fix the battery, but they aren't going to cover the glass...
The only glass repairs I have heard being fixed are the heat-related ones when the iPhone overheats and expands and cracks the edge of glass.
You will need to take it to your local Apple Store (make an appointment for the genius bar at apple.com) to see what they think. Out of warranty repairs are 250.00 plus shipping for glass.

You cannot slow the cracking, etc., but you can take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians look at it and give you an estimate for a screen replacement.

I wouldn't say that you cant get a new one. It is because there is a one year warranty and if it didn't expire yet then you could still trade in your ipod touch. If your warranty expired than just buy a new one and install it or get a professional to do it.

Accidental damage are not part of the warranty. Did you purchase Apple Care Plus? That has a two device replacement policy with a deductible over the two years of the coverage. Otherwise they may be able to replace the screen for a price, or replace the phone for a higher price, as an out of warranty replacement, but still lower then that of a new device.

This is an international community. Prices vary from country, state, city, etc.
You should call the repair shop of your choice and ask for an estimate. Make sure the estimate includes taxes, labor costs, etc.
Remember, no one can give you an exact figure until the repair techs physically examine & run diagnostics on your computer to confirm what is wrong w/it.

Sure! If the two Macs have Thunderbolt ports, attach a Thunderbolt cable between them. If they have FireWire, or if one has FireWire and one Thunderbolt, connect a FireWire cable (with a TB adaptor if necessary). Reboot the old Mac holding down the T key. Make sure it's connected to power. You'll now see its system drive appear on the desktop of the other Mac and you can use Migration Assistant to automatically transfer files, or drag them over manually.
