Screen capture pic att to email not clear

I attached the screen captured pic to my email today.
It is tiny and not clear at all, even when I zoom in (unlike before).
I have used screen capture many times, seems like something has changed.
any advice?

Couldn't update the player from 4.0 to 4.6 'cos it's not supported by OS X 10.3 installed on the imac. Can't afford to update to 10.4 so
a work around has been to burn the DVD's made in iDVD 5 via Toast but its sooo slow. They will however, then play on the imacs...

Screen Capture Timing Problem

I did a screen capture using Captivate and when I bring it over to my editing program to synch with the speakers video, the total running time of the screen capture is off by a considerable margin. The video (which was started and stopped almost simultaneously with the screen capture) is much longer than the screen capture.
I'm afraid that, in the screen capture something was checked to not record real time. Is that an option? Thanks in advance!!!

Indeed there is such an option. You find it by clicking Edit > Preferences > Recording > Settings > Actions in real time.

Color changes (darkens) in screen capture - color sync gamma setting?

I encountered this weird effect that the color darkens when I did a screen capture in one Mac but not the other.
In fact, it darkens more with shift-ctrl-cmd-4 (selection capture) than with shift-ctrl-cmd-3 (whole screen capture).
The knowledge base mentioned the gamma setting in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3712 but the color darkens in the clipboard, so there is no way to change the color sync if it is not a file. I tried to re-calibrate my display using different gamma setting, but it didn't change any color.
In my other Mac, I can do a screen capture and the color is preserved as is. It is only in one Mac that did this. The color darkens so much that it practically becomes black-and-white.
Any suggestion would help. I think it has something to do with the color sync profile setting.

I found out that the darkening of the color in screen capture is caused by screenshot captured into jpeg. The darkening happens when the lines are thin, due to the averaging effect of jpeg. If the lines are thick, then the change in color is not apparent.
Now, the problem is, I can't change screen capture to capture in png. I used Tinker Tool, and deleted com.apple.screencapture.plist , nothing would change it back to capture in png.

Screen capture & MenuItem

Hi,
I have a dialog which i want to capture a screen copy of and send to the system clipboard. To capture the screen, the dialog has a menu bar, with a "File->Capture screen" menu item. When this menu item is clicked the dialog is copied to the clipboard.
All this works fine, but at the time of screen grab, the menu is still dropped down, and is seen in the image on the clipboard.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to hide the dropped menu before screen capture ??

How can I create a PNG or JPG screen capture or screenshot of the entire length of a long email message?

Hi all,
I need to create screenshots of emails, but I need to image the entire length of those emails. Can I using Mail or any other email application? Here is what I have tried so far ...
I can only do a screen capture of the portion of the email that shows up on my 27" Mac. I can reduce the size of the emails somewhat, but usually not enough to capture their entire length.
I tried going through Gmail using Firefox + Awesome Screenshots plugin, but couldn't get Gmail to open entire page so as to capture it. Normally I view this Gmail account using Apple Mail.
"Printing" to a PDF is not an acceptable solution for my needs, because that changes the native formatting to fit the print / pdf format. I need to show the exact email layout as thought it were an actual email.
Any ideas? Thaks for your help.

Installed ScreenGrab add-on to Firefox and, sorry, it still only captures the window to the extent that it is open, and there is no way that I know to open an email window in Gmail so as to show the netire lengthof a long email message.
So, ScreenGrab helped me get more screen capture of an email, but still not yet the entire email. I used Save>Complete Page/Frame, but still no more than what is visible.

I have a 17" Macbook pro with flickering red and cyan(blue) lines across the screen. The issue disappears temporarily when I tap on the computer, and the problem does not occur when I use external display or try to screen capture the problem.

I purchased my Macbook (17") through a certified apple tecnition in August 2012, it was refurbished and the motherboard was completely replaced. I do a lot of photo editing, but I have been unable to do so because of the red vibrating lines that interrupt my screen. The issue disappears temporarily when I tap on the computer, and the problem does not occur when I use external display or try to screen capture the problem. I brought the computer back to the technition I purchased it from and he said that it was a problem with my fan, so I have two new fans but the issue is still occuring. He says he doesnt know whats wrong. Does anyone have any information on this issue?

I recommend having your Mac serviced by someone competent. A force sufficient to "blow apart" the fans was clearly excessive and may have damaged the display cable, as well as any number of other problems.
Dust is properly cleaned with a vacuum, preferably one designed for computer service, and they are not cheap.
Compressed air should never be used. It just blows dust everywhere, often into places where it can no longer be removed.

I need to create an advanced action that will allow my users (they are very, very computer illiterate) to screen capture, open an email, paste and send that email.
So, what I'm looking for is JavaScript for Screen Capture and Paste. Because I know how to open an email to a specific address.

Using Captivate 8, with a LMS, SWF files and Scorm 2004 (The only Scorm version our LMS will accept).
Our LMS cannot accept interaction data. Our LMS will only acccept Pass/Fail and a percentage.
We need to know, not only what the user's score was, but how the user answered each question.
     Example: Question 1: Choices are A,B,C and D. User picked answer B.
                     Question 2: Choices are A,B,C and D. User picked answer A.
                     Question 3: Choices are A,B,C and D. User picked answer C.
                         and so on.
What I created was a "results sheet" at the end of the quiz, showing how the user answered each question. Wherein the user would have to take a screenshot and then email the "results page" to me.
However, it is doubtful that our users would have the capacity to screen capture, and Ctrl+V into an email body.
So, I'm trying to either divise a way that our users could click an advanced action button to automatically perform such operations automatically or create an internal server to use with the Captivate Quiz Analyzer... but I have no idea how to create an internal server. I downloaded WAMP and tried, with no success.

Have you tried closing the Mail app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work.

Screen Capture not working after upgrade to Yosemite

I have Yosemite OS X 10.10.1 and since my upgrade from Mavericks I have not been able to perform any sort of screen capture. I have tried Command+Shift+4 and Command+Shift+3 and neither of those work. There is no camera shutter noise made and no files saved to desktop or elsewhere when I try these commands. I could use the commands just fine on Mavericks to capture the screen. Anyone have any help on this?

Do you have Dropbox installed? If so, go to the menu bar, select it, hit the gear at the bottom right, and then Preferences/Import/Screenshots - make sure the box isn't checked.
You can also make sure they are set to go to your Desktop.

I was able to register it though.

I used to get photos and pics via ATT/Yahoo email, now they show up in the email as HTML code. What's the fix?

All of them were from people who had successfully sent email pics before.
My computer shop guy said ATT/Yahoo email changed something and I should use another email service.
What is the fix?

My husband has the same phone, we purchased them at the same time. I sent him the same photos in the same email that I downloaded them from and on his phone they show up with the normal higher resolution. Is it possible that there is something wrong with my iPhone or is there a setting that can be changed? I'm still learning to use it. All my other photos are of normal resolution. Does this make any sense to anyone?
