Screen Colour wierd!

hi, new to the mac world, got my new macbook pro this morning and love it already....... why did i use xp (suppose will still for games)
heres the problem with the screen, i connected the macbook to the supplied dvi to vga connector then to my vga cable which was connected to lcd tv.
after a few mins of taking out my vga cable and leaving dvi to vga cable still connected the screen went different colours.
after looking through system setting etc, i took out the dvi to vga cable and everything went back to normal. thought it was over then happened again but i didnt do anything it just went to the weird colours. this time i put in the dvi to vga connector and went back to normal.
any explainations???
thought it could just be negative colours, i heard u can press a certain combo of buttons and screen goes to negative?
i have a pic but have nowhere to put it so all of yous can see it. if u give me email address i can send pic. the pics hard to explain

the only way i can find to getting back to correct colours on screen is by connecting the dvi-vga connector, screen goes correct light blue (default apple mac colour) with no icons on screen, stays like this for 1 sec and returns to main home page. is this delay normal when connecting the dvi to vga cable?, does this again when i disconect the cable.

Dear Paul, thank you very much for your time and answer, I followed those steps, somehow it helped the performance of my Imac, is faster now, but the screen issue about the very High contrast colours is still there. Since I am a photographer I am very depending on the screen calibration. I am worried that I came to damage the video card when I shut down the computer from the swicth when It was frozed.

Yes. Use an iPhone browser, such as iExplorer, to access your iPhone's file system. The screensaver photos are stored here;
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleTV.framework/DefaultAnimalPhotos

Once you locate these files, you can replace the photos with your own or add more to the folders. Do not change the name of the the folder.

Regarding screen colour using 'screen-color'

As per my client's requirement I have developed Tabstrip in the module pool progarmming. The requirement is to change the screen colour.

What is the use of 'SCREEN-COLOR' Parameter ?
If using 'SCREEN-COLOR' how one can change the colour of the screen ?

Right click on the background in the work area, and you should be able to change it from there.

Pale screen colours after updating to Adobe Flashplayer 11.8.800

I have just updated to Adobe Flashpayer 11.8.800 using Window 7 (64 bit) my screen colours all changed and all went pale... do I now uninstall or is there a fix ? Anyone else have the same problem ?
Now fixed after re-booting - the colours came back again...

It sounds like we've got a number of *different* problems on this thread. I'll try and respond to a few of them.
@filter 2.5 and everyone else running into a green screen issue. Please try the solution outlined in the post below to see if it will allow you to use hardware acceleration. The other alternative is to try a different ATI driver.

Sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player. I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform. If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing. You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.

@mem2013 - The Flash Player update service will not impact Flash Player's performance. This is a separate service that runs for just an instant on your system once an hour (if you have automatic updates enabled.) Changing it from manual to automatic shouldn't make any difference.

Huge differences in screen colour / yellow tint

Hi,
after using a 16GB Touchpad I recently received a 32GB version. From the beginning on I noticed a huge difference in the screen colour of the two pads. While I would consider the 16GB version neutral, the 32GB version has a much more yellow / orange tint. I noticed this even without putting the two pads side to side. Doing so results even in a much more obvious difference.
Are there explanations for this? Or even better: solutions? Any chance to adjust the colour temperature so that I could try to achieve a better colour balance on the 32GB pad?

As I explained the difference between my two devices is pretty obvious. I guess I will figure out how complicated a replacement might get due to the firesale implications.

It sounds like you accidentally pressed the keyboard shortcut that inverts the screen colors. Go into System Preferences, click Accessibility, click Display, and click Invert Colors.
The Invert Colors option is for people who have specific vision disabilities that make a white background hard to read.

iMac screen colour, how do I show tints and shades that won't appear on screen
I have a 2 month old imac, with a great screen. But for some reason I cant se light shades of colour like 5% of a tint.
yet on older macs, and a 2 year old imac, i can see them prefectly.
Some designs have light panels with 5% colours, some a precent of a colour.
Can anyone suggest a way to calibrate the screen, or set the screen to show all the colours n tints used as accuratley as possible.

Your GPT looks correct. If you create a Hybrid MBR via gdisk and include partitions 2,3 and 4 and make 4 bootable, does Windows partition show up in Startup and as a separate volume in Finder?

Screen colours inverted, also flickers back to normal

Model: HP15-N096EA
When the laptop is turned on the screen colurs are inverted i.e. blue becomes orange, white becomes black etc. at times it flickers back to normal colours i.e blue shows as blue etc.
I have checked magnifers invert colours isn't turned on but when I do turn it on the inverted colours switch to normal colours obviously. There is also a vertical shimmer like every other vertical line is missing or phases in and out.
I have booted into safe mode to see if its a driver issue but the colours are still inverted, I've booted into the BIOS and again the colours are inverted and just to cover all bases I booted a live DVD of Mint Linux 17.1 and the legendary green of the mint distro was a lovely lilac. I've also tried high contrast i.e. Left ALt + left Shift + Print Screen.
My feeling is its the graphic chip or the monitor and I'm hedging more towards the monitor. Tomorrow I'll do a screengrab to see how that comes out and will also connect to an external monitor to see if the flicker and shimmer is still present.
Considering this is literally a month and 6 days out of guarantee it pretty bad, I would have expected a bit longer from a laptop before it started failing.
Update from Yesterday: I did a screengrab from the HP using the snipping tool in windows 7, this showed the colours inverted i.e. negative, I saved that screengrab to a USB stick and opened it up on my Mac, the image showed correctly i.e. not as a negative.
This is the image that is displayed on the laptop, there is no colour inversion, none of the graphics settings appear incorrectly set, I did actually set all settings back to defaults.
This is the screengrab from the laptop as it displays from another computer, which, in my case was my Mac. The screen appears to be displaying correctly, hence the screengrab image below but for some reason it is displaying an inverted image - Its like there is an overlay on the screen.
Could the inverter be faulty?

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-n096ea Notebook and issues with the graphics. If it shows while connected to a different monitor then it is not the graphic card, it is the LCD screen or the cable.
I would replace this as it is the least expensive. Display panel cable 732066-001 Page 97 of your manual. Or you could take the Notebook to a shop so they could test each of the cable and LCD screen.

Printer colour does not match screen colour in Adobe 9, but does with Adobe 7

I have just upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Professional 9. My colour documents look
different when printed from 9 than when they do printed from 7 even when the same document is printed on the same printer from the same computer. What settings do I need to change in 9 so that the documents print out the same? For example, in one document I have dark blue sky which is fine in 7, but prints out as deep purple sky in 9. On screen it is dark blue when viewed in both 9 and 7. All help greatly appreciated. Thanks

The same document prints our perfectly from Adobe 9 on another colour printer so the problem is obviously between Adobe 9 and the original printer. The original printer is due to be replaced shortly so we will not try to resolve this issue. Thanks for your help.
