Screen cut off

Hi, since upgrading to 4.1 having loads of problems which I was just about to deal with but I've just noticed something else now, the top line of info is half cut off and if I then touch on i.e. the phone button at the bottom and then the home button to come back out to the main screen the the labels along the bottom buttons are now cut off, it would appear the resolution of my screen has changed. Have no idea how! Can anyone help?

If anyone else has this it's a feature of the phone (thank goodness) found out had to tap with 3 fingers to zoom back out.

Share Screen Cuts Off Along With Videos

Recently, during my video calls the share screen cuts off both webcams go out along with it.
When trying to turn the webcams back on they just keep circling and we would have to end the call and call back for our webcam videos to show up.
Also the webcam video randomly gets blurry even when the connection is good and shows its still white on the connetion.
When trying to turn the video off and back on to see if it would help it will come back clear for a few seconds then revert back to a blurry image.
The video is normally a rectangle shape when its clear, but crops into a small square when blurred.
Once again have to end the call and call back.

Yes. The MBair uses magnets to detect when the screen is closed. When you move a magnet along the edge, the MBair thinks you've closed the screen and puts it to sleep.

Video capture screen cut off at the top

I am waiting for my new elements 9 to show up on the licensing page, and perhaps this will solve the problem I am having in version 3 (I know, but like I said I am upgrading!) but I would like to import some video from tape and I have a problem I have never seen before. When I open the video capture page all is well except the top menu portion is cut off which presents a huge problem since the button to go back to the main page when import is complete is not there. The only way out is good old alt-cntl-del to close the whole program. Does anybody know how to fit the screen so everything shows? All my other applications fit perfectly. Its been getting bigger and bigger for the last week but until now I had the very bottom of the icon to click on. Cant wait for 9, not sure why it takes so much time to make it available for download and licensing...

Quicktime regularly updates so I assume I have the latest. I do have 3.02 and I just called up the program to get the version I am running and I see the problem has gone away. I now see the whole screen and am able to grab the edges and adjust the size, go figure... I am still waiting for my version 9, I expect this problem will not show up again once I update. Q5 screen cuts off at top and left side

I've had my Q5 for a week. Today I noticed the screen is cutting off on the top and the left side.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

When I get a call on Viber swiping the screen cuts off the call

Everytime I get a call on Viber I need to swipe the screen and enter my PIN to answer the call.
When I swipe the screen it imediatly cuts off the call.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Are you using iOS7?
If so, there is a way to swipe Viber's notification (specifically, and not the general phone lock), which leads you directly to your incoming call.
Otherwise, try opening Viber after you swipe open your phone, and see if the call is taking place.
Note that in general, iPhone's behavior is so that 3rd-party applications cannot override the iphone's lock and PIN (unlike regular cellular calls).
Does the problem persist?

Left side of menu screen cut off on tv but not on computer?

i just finished making an imovie that i transferred over to idvd & burned a few dvd's...brought it home & tested it out on the computer & it looks great!
but when i use it in both our tv's (one that is a wide flat screen & one that is more 'standard), the left side of the menu is completely cut off. the video plays ok (although on the flat screen lcd tv, everything is stretched out), but it is just several letters in the title that are cut off.
any way to fix this?

I didn't see anywhere to set the screen size, so I'm not sure (I used a computer at work to make it) but I have the same problem when playing it on both the widescreen 16:9 and the standard 4:3 tv's in my house, so I wasn't sure if it had to do with that?

Screen cutting off

Hi just got a Powerbook G4 17' 1GHz off someone. and when I power it up it will come on. but after about 5 minutes or so the screen will turn black while Im using it. No its NOT in sleep mode and yes its on. The screen just turns black. any help at all would be wonderful thank you.

I don't think AHT or either of the TechTool utilities will identify a faulty display inverter, which is probably the cause of the problem. Under very strong light, oes the display show a faint image of what you should be able to see easily? If so, the display and the graphics card are fine, but the inverter has failed. That's what provides power to the display backlight.

Import from Camera Screen - cut off

Folks,
I am trying tom import from my Sony DCR-DVD201 camcorder. I can import fine, but the "Import from Camera screen" is cutoff and black for the first 3/4 of the screen -- I can see only the very bottom edges of the video clips.
I can still import, but is there a fix/setting for this issue?

i have this bug too. resizing the window, and then hitting play will show the whole window. i have a Panasonic HDC-SD7. it works, but a very annoying.

Property inspector cut off [was: CS4 help]

Hello all,
I just got a new computer with windows vista 64 bit. With this new computer, I got a new CS4 package. In dreamweaver, the properties pannel on the bottom of the screen cuts off and does not show all the stuff that it used to. For example, I can see the word Target, but there is not dropdown box for me to select which target I want to select. Is there a way to fix this so everything is viewable?

"save for web and devices" view page is cut off

When I go to Save For Web to optimize, the screen cuts off at the bottom where the Save and Quit buttons are. It won't let me scroll down, drag the screen smaller, max or minimize. The only way to get out of the screen is to Ctrl-alt-del and shut down Photoshop.

Computer partially starts and then power cuts off

Dear Apple Support Community,
I have an iMac running 10.8.5 and when I go to start the computer, the screen turns on, and after a moment or two, the screen cuts off. Any recommendations before bringing it to an Apple store?
I have already tried unplugging the computer from the power source, and plugging back in.

How old is your mac?
Do you hear the fan/harddive working when the screen cuts out?
When the screen cuts out, do you get a light when pressing the caps-lock key?

Events Created in iCal get cut off Below the Screen

For the last few versions, iCal has had a problem with Event windows going below the screen; when this happens, users can no longer see what they are typing in the Event. I was able to duplicate this problem on every current Mac model in an Apple Store, so it is not a hardware issue, or an issue with screen size. Models tested include all MacBook Pros, Macbook, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Pro with 24" Display, and Mac Pro with 30" Cinema Display. The problem was also reproduced by Apple Support.
I use a MacBook Pro 15" with a display resolution of 1440 x 900. All software is up to date. (Mac OS 10.6.1, and iCal 4.0, Build 1362). Here are the steps to reproduce the problem:
1) Set the System Preferences for the Dock to 'Automatically hide and show the Dock', to get it out of the way.
2) In iCal 'Month View', create a new Event in any day on the bottom row of the calendar.
3) The easiest way to duplicate the problem is to type about 7 lines of text in the 'note' section.
If more than 7 lines total (in Event Description and 'note' sections) are entered, the bottom of the Event pop-up window goes below the screen and is obscured. This means that if you are typing something in the 'note' section, you cannot see what you are typing. Also, the 'Done' button can no longer be accessed when you are finished.
NOTE: When you leave the Event, then come back to edit it again, the window often moves up, eliminating the cut-off problem, but this does not always happen.
Here are the two problems that need to be fixed in order for the user to be able to view what is being typed, and to access the 'Done' button when finished:
1) The Event Description window (at the top of the Event) currently will stop moving the bottom down after typing 4 lines, and then begins to scroll upward, in order to save space. However, at this point, the 'Done' button has already disappeared below the screen. This needs to changed so that the 'Done' button never goes below the bottom edge of the screen.
2) When typing in the 'note' window of the Event, a vertical bar eventually appears on the right, but only after the bottom lines of text have disappeared below the screen. The data ABOVE the note window begins to scroll up, but the bottom area of the note remains obscured, so users cannot see what they are typing. Moving the bar up and down still does not let users see what they are typing below the screen. The 'note' window needs to be changed to scroll like the Event Description window does, and not have the 'Done' button go below the bottom edge of the screen.
NOTE: A similar problem happens in Day View and Week View, when listed Events start going below the bottom edge of the screen. They do not scroll either, and everything past a certain point cannot be viewed. Scrolling would solve this problem as well. In the absence of scrolling, the only way around that problem currently, is to cut Events from that day and paste them into another day. Then you can see the rest of the Events.
So, anyone else out there notice these problems or have an explanation for them?

My Itunes software, when activated, shows an image on the screen of the normal itunes image except that about 3" of the image is cut off on the right side of the screen and about 1" of the bottom. All functions shown work. Any function in the part of the screen that is not shown, is not available, making the softwave almost nonfunctionable. When I upgrade, this is usually resolved, until it starts happening again. Since I currently have the latest version of Itunes, I cannot try this solution, which is only temperary anyway. Can anyone help me?
