Screen doesn't look right, can someone look at my picture please?

iMac, 24inch, 3.06Ghz, mid 2009 model
Hi, I noticed this last night when i was watching a DVD, when ever the screen went dark a white 'spill' came especially about the edges. Is this normal or could it be a problem?
The picture was taken in complete darkness with only the iMac providing the light. On the screen is a pure black background quickly made in photoshop.

I have uploaded a new screen picture taken under the exact same condition with the same camera and black image. As u will be able to tell, it has far more back light bleed, and the black is almost 10 shades lighter then it should be.
I've had a good look at several other iMac's and pretty much all off them have a little back light bleed, but no way near this! When watching films at night the white bleed dramatically effects the quality of the movie. (This should not be the case, when I have seen cheap Dell Screen perform far better)

Are you choosing a different plan before tapping Done?
To downgrade, you should be doing the following:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
Tap Change Storage Plan.
Tap Downgrade Options and enter your Apple ID password.
Choose a different plan to use when your current storage plan expires.
Tap Done.

you could try forcing it into recovery mode by turning it off, hold the home button and plug it into iTunes at the same time, keep holding the home button until iTunes says its detected a device that needs to be updated or restored. Then restore.

Frustrating speed..can someone look at my stats?

Hi Ok i recently had alot of problems with the connection speed on my broadband (homehub3), so i called bt up and suggested the engineer should check the problem. He found a line problem and so he fixed it. But yet i am still finding it slow even though it has improved abit than the last time, but serioulsy it is soo frustrating that i can not even watch a video on youtube coz it doesnt load......which then it goes blury and then the sound of the video suddenly disappears. And im not sure why? He did say that i have to wait 10 day training period, but i am an impatient person...and also he said th average speed that im suppose to get is 16-19mbps.
And can someone tell me the difference between downstream and upstream?
And whats my average speed that i am getting?

Mac mini and LG monitor: screen is stretched and resolution is awful. Can someone help me fix this please?

I have a Mac mini (bought in 2013) and the LG 20EN33 screen. I tried filing with the monitor's settings as well as the ones in display but the screen is stretched and the font is quite big. I saw a thread about Switch Res X so downloaded the app, but have no idea where to start to use it to correct issue. can someone help me please?

With Switch-X you want to change the resolution to match your monitor's resolution.
You have an old monitor and it may be best to get a new one that support the the now standard 1080p (1920X1080) resolution.
I have not ideal how Switch-X works since I use the free version of Display Menu fro the Mac App Store

Screen is frozen but I can hear music playing? Help, please.

I bought an 80GB iPod Classic about two months ago. It was working fine until this morning. I noticed that the screen is frozen; meaning I can hear music playing but the screen is frozen. And I can't pretty much navigate. It looks like it became an 80GB shuffle!
I tried everything, I think. From updating to restoring to resetting. Nothing works. The screen is frozen. Please help!

Firefox is blocking access to my Picassa albums and I can't post new pictures to it. It just started two days ago. I looked at the opitions and my picassa site is listed as ALLOW but it doesn't work. Can someone tell me a solution? Thanks.

I use Firefox to load pictures into my Picassa Albums. Two days ago when I tried to make a new album, Firefox repeatedly block Picassa. I checked in the Options box and my Picassa site was listed to ALLOW but it will not allow. How do I fix this problem so I can use Picassa?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

Turned on my iMac and looks like a negative, try using the control, alt command 8 trick but doesn't work.. can someone please help?

It is ⌃⌥⌘ 8 if your Keyboard Shortcut are set to default.
The System Preference location depends on what OS X you are running..?
For Snow Leopard and earlier, use or go to System Preferences > Universal Access and select Black on white.
For Mountain Lion and later, go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Display and uncheck Invert colors.

On the "Oracle Portal Navigator" page under the "Content Area" tab someone deleted the "Site" portlet. How do I add the "Site" portlet back to the page?
I clicked on the customize page and tried to find the portlet to add but it is not listed. I then went to the portlet repository to see if it was expired or something but it was not there.
There is a "Content Areas" portlet that lets you select the content area to go to, but the navigate button takes you back to the "Oracle Portal Navigator" page to the "Content Area" tab.
The same thing happens when you go to the Admin section of a site and try to see the categories for that site. I can't edit my categories anymore.
They point to "Oracle Portal Navigator" page showing the "Content Area" tab, which is no longer the site portlet.
Any ideas?

PS I know its called the "Site" portlet because on A DIFFERENT portal server if I click the customize link on the "Oracle Portal Navigator" page under the "Content Area" tab that is the name it shows the Provider is "Oracle Portal" and the portlet is called "Site". IE "Oracle Portal: Site"

Are you on the EA release? The production versions (3.0.6.6.5 and 3.0.7.6.2) specifically don't allow these portlets to be deleted.

Either way, you can check whether the portlet instance exists by querying the WWPOB_PORTLET_INSTANCE_FLAT$ table. On the production release it is page_id=3 and portlet_id=23. If the row is not there, then you can reinsert it using the data from your other instance. The following statement worked on the production version:

Well, the row is still in the table which makes sense I guess. The UI doesn't let you delete the portlet from the page. The question is why isn't it appearing? Do you have any more input into what activity was going on prior to the portlet disappearing? I'm assuming that the portlet doesn't show up on the customize screen at all correct? The only way I can get it to not display is by unclicking the checkbox on the customize screen, but then it still shows up on the customize screen.
