Screen Dump images from OS9.1 don't open on OS10.8.5

I have lots of screen dump images (pct files?) that I made on computer using OS 9.1
and they open fine in simple text there. But when I try to view them on my other
Mac running OS 10.8.5 they come up as unix files. When I add the extention: .pct
to the file name they do show, however the image is off centred to the the right and
part of the image is not visable.
What extention should I add to the file name to be able to view these, and I have a lot of
them.

My Mac screen is on but the programs don't open.

Hi, not sure which Mac or which version of OSX, but things to try...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc or are running Lion, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • How do I copy image from web and paste into Open Office Document

Whenever I choose Copy Image from Safari and then paste into open office, I only get the image url and not the image. I am sure that I am not selecting Copy Image Address.
When I copy images from my iTunes album artwork and paste into open office it works fine.
    Any thoughts?

I have done the same thing using Firefox and it works just fine. It seems to be an issue with Safari.

  • How to delete lock screen photo image from camera while retaining the default images?

    Hi,
I've recently took a picture using my camera and set it as a lock screen photo. However, I can't delete the custom lock screen photo after deleting my camera picture on my laptop. I would not know what will happen if I were to reset my entire system as I
have two separate accounts; one of the accounts is not a Microsoft account. If i were to reset my computer system, some of the applications might not be there as the laptop had a custom setting when I bought it.
How do I delete the cached photo in my computer?(The one without a Microsoft account)

    Hi,
Do we have any backup available?
If yes, we may consider to use system restore point to return to a state that could be able to change/delete the lock screen picture.
    Best regards

I'm setting up a new 7410 cluster system, and have found the documentation for it very lacking. But, eventually, I think I got something working. The problem now is that, whenever I go to the Maintenance->System area, I get a screen dump of stuff and I don't know what it means. Here's the dump, as cut and pasted from the browser:

...This system has previously had both its power supplies swapped out (field replacement) but hasn't had a hard reset/power cycle since then, so my current theory is that it's got a bit confused by this. I'm slightly concerned that nothing is in the logs indicating any problem whatsoever, but it is still serving files. Unfortunately my system isn't in a convenient place for a hard reset, so that will have to wait.

  • Photoshop CS-6 does not open images from Lightroom 5

I do have Photoshop CS-6 and Lightroom 5.  Nearly all images were created in a Windows 7 (64 bit) environment.  I have moved platforms to MAC. I have moved all images and the Catalog. I have changed platform to MAC. I am now using MAC OS-X (10.9.1).
I am able to see all images in Lightroom, I am able to modify all images in Lightroom. I can export the images to Jpeg (for example) from Lightroom.  I do have a warining at several images in Lightroom = "metadates have been changed - would you like to overwrite data or import ?"
First time I have tried to open an Image from Lightroom (hand over) Photoshop opens, but does not show any picture and no error message. But when I then look to recently opened files, the image is in the list. When I do click on this, Photoshop shows and error message: "the datamodule can not handle the file format" (which is either RAW or jpeg).
Another expirience is, when I try to open directly from Photoshop any other image, Photoshop ignores the XMP and opens the original file without any modification.

That's normal if the raw files were originally edited in Lightroom. Lightroom stores all edits in the catalog, not the xmp sidecar. You can set Lightroom to write to xmp as well, but that slows it down a little and so it's off by default. The Lightroom shortcut ctrl/cmd+S will also save to xmp.
I do have a warining at several images in Lightroom = "metadates have been changed - would you like to overwrite data or import ?"
That's related to the above, and also normal if you go the other way - edit in ACR and then move to Lightroom. It'll then be in xmp, but not the Lightroom catalog.
As for the missing on-screen image, that's a common video driver bug (although I suppose other causes are possible). For Windows you can download updated drivers directly from the manufacturer's website, but that's not possible with Mac. You'll have to wait for Apple to fix it.

  • Photoshop cc 2014 will not open images from Lightroom

I have just upgraded Photoshop and Lightroom through the creative cloud, and now when i take an image from Lightroom to Photoshop,Photoshop opens but the image does not appear.I have Photoshop cc 2014 as the default editor.I am able to open the image in any of the plug ins i have installed e.g Topaz Labs.

This has been reported quite a lot lately.  SSprengel, have you actually seen an uninstall and reinstall correct the link between Lightroom and Photoshop CC (2014)?  If so, I'll start advising people to do so.  I hadn't run across anyone claiming to have discovered a solution to the problem yet.

  • Psychadelic effects when opening second image from RAW

Photoshop CS6 beta 64 bit, Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
    Radeon HD4850
Working on PSD file, then opened second image from ACR.  After choosing 'Open Image' from ACR the second file appeared onscreen, with the first image behind it in psychadelic colours.
Zooming caused the second image to leave ghost images on the psychadelic background.
Unable to work in either image, had to close down using Task Manager.

Sounds like it could possibly be a graphic card issue. Have you updated your drivers recently? Up to date drivers usually take care of issues like this. You might even want to reinstall the drivers.
If that doesn't work, make sure to post your system info as a reply. System Info from Photoshop

  • Screen dump of JPanel to Image

I'm working on an extensive error dialog which will send all relevant information to a support apparatus. This includes collecting the stack-trace received from the exception, java console log and a screen dump of the underlying JPanel.
The dialog is a modal dialog residing on top of the JPanel in question. I can retreive the parent panel's Graphics object and need to print the JPanel with all it's children to an Image object.
This should be possible, but how?
Another thing, is the java console available from the client code? The code runs as an applet on Windows clients.

I've never tried this, but the idea I have is to create a BufferedImage, and getGraphics() of the BufferedImage. Now call paint() of the JPanel and pass it the graphics object.
Maybe you also have to pre-obtain the height/width of the JPanel for the size of the Image.

  • Capture Image from Screen and Yosemite Mail

Composing a new mail message in Yosemite. If use the pull-down option to Capture Image from Screen and place the image in the message body (HTML), the image is not being sent with the message. A broken image icon is sent instead.
If, on the other hand, I use the paperclip to add an image file to the message body all is well. Same if I copy and paste an image into the message body.
In both those cases where it works, I also get the Markup pulldown to edit the image. In the Capture Image from Screen case where it doesn't work I also don't get the Markup pulldown menu and options.
Anyone else seeing this? Is it a known bug with Yosemite or just on my side?

I'm actually experiencing the same thing, i asked my officemate and he is also getting the same error when using capture on mac mail

Quit the app completely and try again. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
    Or try this.

  • Is it possible to get the image from the i pad when mirroring via Apple TV to fill the screen instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

When mirroring, is it possible to get the image from the ipad to fill the screen on the TV instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, the iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3, a TV has an aspect ratio of 16:9, to fit one into the other is impossible without distorting the picture. If your TV has a zoom feature, you may be able to use this to fill the screen a little more to your liking, but this will result in cropping top and bottom.

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

    Hi Ashley Clavette,
The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what  exactly happens ?  Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?
