Screen flickers at user selection screen after restart/start up (not sleep mode)

when i restart my mac, the screen where you key in your password, the LCD screen on the mac flickers for about 2 seconds. i just recently replaced the hard drive. but it doesn't hang or lag. it just flickers. just wondering if theres an issue with it. and is it usual for the mac's body to get really hot when playing video games? How to adjust mouse or trackpad parameters for the user selection screen?

This is not critical, but annoying. I can change the mouse or trackpad parameters by user, so anyone can use their own mouse or trackpad adjustment. However I can not locate how to change this parameters for the welcome or user selection screen. In my case I have two users, both of us use the trackpad with the one touch for click function, so no one press physically the trackpad for a click. However, as the default parameter is the touch function deactivated we have to actually click the trackpad in that exclusive screen.
Another example with mouse, normally we use the mouse with almost double of the default acceleration, but when in the user selection screen the mouse assumes default configuration and feels super SLOWWWWWWW.
Again, this is not critical, but would be very nice to be able to modify this parameters in the welcome screen.

For the login screen, you are not associated with a normal user, but the system defaults...try logging in to the Admn account and change the behavior there...those settings should then apply to the login screen.

Why my mac boots showing user selection screen?

My mac freezed on the user selection screen las time I started it so I reseted it by holding the power on button on the back of the imac.
Now when I boot it it just shows the user selection screen and freezes there. Mouse and keyboard don't respond. If I reset it or jnplug it I still have the same thing ocurrimg.
What can I do to solve it?

Try using a USB keyboard and mouse and see if they work. I'm assuming that you have the bluetooth wireless setup? If a wired keyboard and mouse work then you either should replace the batteries in both or have your Mac taken in because something is going on with the bluetooth

GT70 BSOD or Stuck after Windows puts it to sleep mode of turns off monitor

Hi Everyone!
i have an issue (or 2) with my laptop.
both happens when:
1) whenever i put the laptop into sleep mode or either windows does so automatically (inactive period), - the laptop will go to sleep just fine.
2) windows turns off monitor after a period of inactivity. (sleep mode due to inactivity was disabled in this case)
in both the cases i mentions above, if i wake the computer within lets say 5 minutes, it'll turn on just fine.
but after a certain period of time passes it wont.
with the sleep mode, the computer will wake and will then produce a BSOD STOP error 0x4 and restart.
with monitor turned off it'll simply wont turn on, not responding to neither keyboard, mouse or power button. - i have to do a hard reboot
any ideas?
anything i can check?
note the laptop just came back from a warranty repair, so all parts have been tested and been found ok!
system specs:
MSI GT70-0ND
CPU: Intel Core i7-3630QM 2.4GHz (Intel GPU HD 4000 included)
Memory: 16GB DDR3
Storage: 750GB HDD 7200rpm

i dont think i have the same problem as in the other thread.
my bios:
my laptop doesnt restart when my screen is turned off and i try to wake it. it would simply wont wake up.
and my BSOD happens only after i wake the laptop from sleep mode and only if it been in sleep mode for a while. meaning i if i wake it up within a few mins of going to sleep it'll boot justfine.

It sounds like your MacBook Pro does not wake from sleep, and shuts down when you try to wake it.
Try these troubleshooting steps to remedy the situation, or if your Mac is currently not powering on:

Reset SMC
The System Management Controller (SMC) is involved in managing power on your computer. Reset the SMC on your Mac if you are having difficulty sleeping or waking your computer.
Reset NVRAM/PRAM
Nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM)/Parameter RAM (PRAM) stores some power-related settings.Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM if you are having difficulty sleeping or waking your computer.
Test with external devices disconnected
Some external devices can prevent your computer from sleeping. Try disconnecting items other than your Apple keyboard or mouse from the built-in USB, Thunderbolt and Firewire ports on your Mac. If this resolves the issue, try reconnecting your external devices one at a time until you find the device preventing sleep or wake. Try Safe Mode

I would like to bring to your notice that i bought new xperia z2 on 14 june 2015, the next day onwards i faced display problem ( screen flickers), i recorded that as evidence and submitted for DOA request after many follow ups i got approval. Yesterday i bought new device xperia z2 from same vendor, as a return of defective piece. I observe same problem with this device also. I lost trust on Sony brand. I am not having time and patience to follow with you within 7 days showing problem as it occurs sometimes, hence i am dropping mail.request you to address the problem. I am not if it is a software bug or hardware issue. After upgrading software from service center problem persists.

Filtering criteria in User selection screen

Hi experts,
Is there any ways to display values in the selection screen based on the above criteria that user selected? For example, the selection screen has 3 selection tabs. The first tab is to choose region (A,B or C). When user selects region A, the second criteria shows only the factories that located in region a, not all of the factories. Once user select a factory, the thrid tab shows only the manager names that works in that factory.
I'm new in this area so please provide me an instruction steps by steps.

Do you have any mapping maintained in any InfoObject for all these characteristics you mentioned, or you are trying to pull out this information based on the trascational data from the cube.
There is one option in the query designer. Go to Advance tab of the characteristic and under second option "Filter vale for selection during query execution", select Characteristic Relationships.

This works great for me, but I'd like to take this one step further, if possible. I'm naïve when it comes to Apple Scripts
Currently, if I use the script, it opens up in 100% 'fit-width' view as follows:

I looked at the English version.
Let me say you that you are a funny guy.
Set width and set "Fit Width" are incompatible commands.
On my 1920 x 1200 screen, if I set scale to 125%, Fit Width is disabled.
If I check "Fit width", the size remains unchanged but is no longer selected.
On a smaller display, "Fit Width" will set the page in the "100%" mode.
My guess is that it's what you get.

Screen flickering in KDE 4.2 after pacman -Syu

Hi there,
yesterday I did a "pacman -Syu" and since then my screen keeps flickering every now and then when I move my mouse over the screen or when a new dialog pops up. Sometimes it even flickers when the plasma widget RSSNow slides in new articles.
I can't really nail it, but it seems to be worse if there are many plasma widgets and / or windows open.
It seems to be especially bad when one of my two plasma panels is set to "auto hide".
I've tried to play with the advanced Desktop Effect settings like OpenGl mode, texture filter, VSync and such, but nothing improved. Before the system update my NVidia card was happily playing with KWin.
Has anybody had similar experiences over the last couple of days?

I'm still having problems with my screen flickering, jittering and causing me headaches.
Just to make sure it's not the Nvidia driver, I'm testing the open source driver right now instead of the official, proprietary Nvidia one, although it doesn't support any 3D.
I also have the suspicion that cpufrequtils might be the guilty bit. Has anybody had any graphic related problems when running cpufrequtils with the ondemand governor?
Does that make any sense? Could it be the cause of my graphic problems?

Screen Flickering when using flash Player after suspend

Hey,
I've got a Samsung R40+ a pretty old Laptop everytime I set him to suspend and wake him afterwards the Screen flickers as soon as I use Flash player. I'ts mainly black and white stripes flashing across the screen especially bad when I watch Videos in Fulscreen. This happens with the Flashplugin aswell as with the Pepper-Flash in Chrome.
This has been an Issue Forever even back when I used Ubuntu I just Ignored it and never Let My Laptop suspend but if there is a solution I would love That.

Syntax
AT SELECTION-SCREEN selscreen_event.
Effect
This statement defines event blocks for different events selscreen_event that are triggered by the ABAP runtime environment during selection screen processing.
Selection screen events occur immediately before sending a selection screen and after certain user actions on a displayed selection screen. They assist in selection screen processing in the ABAP program.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN is triggered at least twice during actions on selection screens that are linked into another selection screen as a subscreen - first for the linked selection screen itself, and then for the linking selection screens.
Note
The event blocks after AT SELECTION-SCREEN are implemented internally as procedures. Declarative statments in these event blocks create local data.
