Screen Freeze after last update

On my late 2011 imac 21.5" I have been getting a consistent problem since the last OS update. After the screensaver comes on, or, if left to sleep by it's own devices, either my screensaver freezes or the gray screen won't recover from sleep. If I move the cursor with the trackpad it clears the gray screen where the cursor moves around. I can usually clear enough that I can hit the login button and log in after pushing the power button. This is a new phenomenon since the latest OS update. Any help would be appreciated.

Can I really be the only person having this problem? I have dl'd the combo pack for the update & I'll install it this evening and see if that makes a difference. Again, any insight would be appreciated.

Dual screen problems after last updates

Hello everyone,
it was long time since our Arch gave me some problems, but then now I'm fighting furiously with dual screen configuration with new gnome. Let me explain.
I upgraded the home PC that I hadn't update for months, so I updated more or less everything ... kernel, nvidia drivers, gnome, etc..
The PC has always been dual screen (no twin view, without xinerama), two screens (one on a LCD monitor and one on a TV) where I could run separate applications independent.
Now, after the update, when I launch any application in the second screen (the TV) it starts on the first (screen).
Obviously I have't made any changes to xorg.conf before and after the upgrade. I also tried to recreate one with the nvidia-tools but nothing ...
Can you help me? Someone had the same problem?
I post my xorg.conf, I hope that someone has a hint. I can no longer watching movies on TV and it is very annoying!

Writing the post a tried to install fluxbox, and then... all ok. In fluxbox all works fine. I think this is a problem related to the new gnome screen configurer.
I post an image of gnome screen configurer vs nvidia-tools.
Googling around I found that new gnome screen configuration (using xrandr) is not compatible with nvidia drivers. Could be this the source of the problem?

Hi,
Does your Mac go to the sleep status when you close the cover? If so, the remote session can be terminated due to time out and the time out value may be redesigned in the latest versions.

Try reconnecting with App Store to see if there is yet another update available, if yes, update your mac to the latest Apple is offering at the moment.
As for slow downs and freezes, try these steps:
1. Run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions then verify / repair disk if needed.
2. Next Follow these steps:
Shut down your Mac.
Turn on the computer and immediately hold down Command (⌘), Option, P, and R keys simultaneously.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
3. If all else fails download and run "Onyx" for Mountain Lion.

Iphone 3GS freezing after last update with iOS 4.1

I updated my iphone last month and started having problems.
Iphone get freez multiple times a day, I nnede to hard boot it all the time.
Screen flicker in size, letter are cutting on the margines.
As soon as I opens any application the picture slightly zoom in and then zoom out once by itself. I have to wait for few seconds to get screen scroll.
I am not sure what happening.
I have reset teh iphone multiple time.
Any help please?

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone. The red End Call button should still be working.
For initial troubleshooting, I would suggest restarting and resetting your iPhone, and also updating it to the latest version of the iOS software, which is iOS 6.1.4.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

exactly what happened, the screen is locked on the plug sign, what can you do to unfreeze

ITunes no longer opening after last update.

ITunes not opening after last update on my main user. Second user is fine however accesses different library.
Computer freezes when attempting to open ITunes. Have also searched for the sync services file but is not located under reveal in folder or go to options.
Apologies I am not the best tech savy person and have read other posts trying to solve the problem. Other posts asked for the following reports.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - we are an apple household and this is effecting everything!

No autofill after last update

My Ipod no longer appears in the list when plugged into my computer. As a result the autofill button is gone and I cant update songs to my 1st generation Ipod shuffle. This came about after last update. It's as if the system doesn't recognize my Ipod although I continue to get the message that the Ipod is syncing and the system signals me when the syncing is complete.
My main concern is how do I go about autofilling now?

I said to click on the button NEXT TO (to the right of) the Settings button, which should say "On This iPod" in the current version of iTunes. The Settings screen is what iTunes is currently showing so clicking on Settings again will not change the screen.
In previous version of iTunes, you also clicked on the "tab" next to Settings to get a listing of the shuffle's contents, and the Autofill button. It was just called something else instead of On This iPod (I think it was "Contents"). So the procedure itself has not changed in the current version of iTunes.
I have a 1st gen shuffle, and that's how it works...

Battery drain after last update (5.4.0.4165)

After last update battery consumption went up to 40%, reinnstalled and it dropped to 26%. But that is still way too high. Especially since I barely use it on my phone..

Thanks for submitting feedback about the battery life of Skype for Android. The developers of the app are making great strides to improve the functionality and other aspects, including battery life, so that it runs better for its users!
Skype, by nature, does use more battery than many other apps. It should be understood that it has to constantly contact Skype's servers in order to receive incoming call, chat and contact data. You can reduce the amount of battery usage by closing some other apps that you do not use, reducing screen use time, ensuring that you are in areas with good reception (because cell standby greatly reduces battery) and rebooting the phone after a day or two can make a difference in your battery life.
Remember that the development team has surely made it a priority to make the app consume less battery and kill off the bugs that cause that. They probably have more in store, so just you wait and see! Things could be looking good! With you posting this, they'll take notice and probably work to reduce that 26% usage to something lower in later updates!

Flash CC doesn't start up after last update

Flash CC doesn't start up after last update. It said "Training en zelfstudie" (Training and self-stufy in Dutch) for the update.
Everything was working fine before the update, now if I try to start-up Flash solo,
it says: "Flash werkt niet meer" (Flash has stopped working), and quits.
As you can probably tell from the message, I'm on Windows 7.
Now here is interesting info: if I double click a previous movie, then Flash starts up fine and loads the previous movie.
However when I close it and the screen that should appear is the "new movie" dialog, flash hangs again.
So obviously something went wrong installing the new update, or the update doesn't work properly.
I'm now working with my pre-cc flash5.5 version, which I re-installed to avoid crashing flash every time I close a file.
My questions:
1- Where do I log this problem? (Or am I in the right place?)
2- Can I re-install the previous version, which worked fine? (I can live without tutorials etc.)
3- Can I try to re-install this version if the above is not possible and how do I go about doing that?

What fixed the problem for me was just reinstalling Flash CC. I thought I'd give it a try, because I couldn't find a message of anyone experiencing the same problem.
So I used the control panel to uninstall Flash, then I tried reinstalling.
Creative Cloud kept saying Flash is up to date, so you can't reinstall. If you click on the gear and choose Exit and then restart Creative Cloud it will take a few seconds, but the it will see the situation as it is and you can reinstall Flash.
After the reinstall the issue was gone.
Thanks for the other solutions, I think this is a handy resource for rolling back Flash if I ever do need it
and gives me more confidence in the creative cloud product.
Maybe Adobe will pick it up and make it easier for us 'normal' creative-cloud users to
pick which version we want. Like you can do in CVS systems.

Display about 20% darker, Dim. Happened after last update.

My imac display is dim, kinda dark. Happened after last update and I have googled like crazy to find a solution, no luck so far. This is what i have done so far.
- I have tried several settings in the Energy Saver part of settings.
- Brightness is set to 100%
- I have tried several Display Profiles and also made my own.
- Did reset the PRAM, NVRAM several times.
- Even started it in safe boot etc..
- Reinstalled OS X completely
It seems like a software related problem. If i press sleep the screen of course goes black but the interesting thing is that when it wakes up it is back to the normal nice brightness for about 5-10 seconds then goes dim again.
Screen is at the normal brightness when using boot camp, windows.
Please if anyone has a solution, thank you.

I'm not convinced that it is a software issue, here's why: Our DVD burner stopped working so we brought it in to the local Apple store for repair. BTW the machine is 2 & 1/2 y.o. and yes, I purchased the extended warranty and I'm so glad I did (usually I pass on them). Anyway, they replaced the burner, we picked it up and when we plugged it in at home I noticed that the display was nice and bright and then went dim!
I proceeded to change the display brightness controls as well as the gamma settings. I got it to look better (still not as bright as prior to repair) but it still got bright and then dim after waking.
Since there were no software issues with the burner replacement, other than perhaps some drivers for the burner???, I attribute it to the repair!
Just my $0.02 and would welcome any suggestions as to what it is and how to resolve the issue.

T510 ThinkVantage button and updates software broken after last update 12/1/2010

After last updates I ran on Dec 1, 2010, the ThinkVantage button does nothing. Running the updates and drivers from the control panel flashes the GUI splash screen then closes.
Lenovo really screwed this one up! Now you can't even get the updates to work to fix other issues.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Try uninstalling the PC-Doctor / Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox and System Update from Add/Remove programs, do a mandatory restart, thereafter download and run CCleaner, scan for registry issues with it and fix them. Subsequently, manually install both Toolbox and System Update.
Keep us posted with the results.

Rebuild screen freeze - unable to update firmware as not docking. Help please

Hello, I've got an 8gb Zen.
Always worked fine til I tried one of those hand crank chargers, since then I turn it on and it will freeze on the rebuilding screen.
Ran scandisk on it - no joy.
Wanted to try and update firmware to see if that helped but it will not connect to computer via USB. It will charge from the usb but just not connected, nothing.
Any help appreciated. Thank you

QRe: Rebuild screen freeze - unable to update firmware as not docking. Help please? So, it freezes on the rebuilding screen after formatting? It is very odd. Just to make sure... you have formatted (not cleaned up) the device from the Recovery Mode menu, right?
My only suggestion now is trying to mount the device on another computer (try one with a BSD or Linux operating system) and format it from here. With some luck, you should be able to see it as a new USB dri've. I am suggesting one of these operating systems, as you have a chance to mount your player on them even if it does not boots up properly. (I did it to recover mine just before suspecting there was a discrepancy on the FATs stored of the filesystem.) In your case, you will have a chance to format the device (using a FAT filesystem, of course) from these operating systems. I am, however, surprised to see that the Recovery Mode format function does not do its work on your player.
If your device does not boot up and freezes on the scanning/rebuilding processes there is a chance you have a problem with your filesystem instead of a fried USB port. So, there is a chance you can fix this device yourself yet.
