Screen freezes on Phone app iOS 8
I am using iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.1 on it. I encountered two problems after updating to iOS 8.0.
1. My screen freezes at Phone App which causes home button to stop working, luckily i can make calls on the phone app. Lock screen works but swipe screen and password gets disabled which directly opens phone app if I lock and unlock phone with lock button. Phone works after I switch it off and restart. I tried restoring phone couple of times but in vain. Same problem persists.
2. When I make or attend calls with my EarPods on and press lock button, phone automatically restarts.

Using iMac late 2009, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 using Mavericks Version 10.9.4 running ok since updating July 11th.
Today when opening Preview, Pages, Numbers, iPhoto, iMovie, App store etc. app opens as does application menu but then freezes entire screen.
Had to use force quit. Safari ok but if opens in Preview can't do anything. Tried reinstalling software without success.I hope to have done as you suggested but hopelessly out of my depth. Appreciate your help

When I turn on the iMac the screen and apps appear as always. However there is 1 app ( BBC iplayer Desktop) which seems to freeze everything. The mouse works OK but when I click on any app or on the apple logo, nothing happens. I can't even turn it off. What should I do?

Screen freeze when managing apps.
Snice I accidently installed two Google News apps i have been unable to manage my apps. Pressing on any app causes them all to jiggle but I can't rearrange them or delete them. And unless I reset I have no control at all: the screen is frozen. My Restriction setting allows me to delete apps. I can, however, add apps and update them.
I am having the same problem since I last updated my software this past Sunday.
In older posts people suggested Repairing Permissions via Disk Utility, which works once, but then the problem returns.
I could really use some help on this issue because I run multiple users on my MacMini Server and cannot be restarting the server every time. -
Iphone 5 screen freezes while using apps
Very frustrating problem. I have to power off, then open with the home button. This allows the phone to work, but it freezes back up shortly thereafter.
This is a brand new Iphone 5. I had a problem with my first iphone 5, the volume down button just stopped working. Took it to the store, and they gave me a replacement phone. This new replacement phone has been doing this ever since I got it. Probably freezing 5-10 times per day, minimum.
I am now doing a restore on the phone, hoping that this is a software issue.you can try and explain the story but there is no way to prove that the drop didnt cause it or didnt. most likely they will not replace for free.

Not sure which reset you are referring to. There's more than one.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, restore your iPad > Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes -
I just got am LG g2 last week. I have been noticing that the screen freezes up about 40% of the time when the charger cord is plugged in. About 70% of the time cord plugged in and on the settings screen, and almost all of the time in the mobile data section of the settings tab (again only when plugged into the charger cable). If I unplug the cord, the screen starts working. As this is not a brand new product, does anyone know what the fix is for this, because it makes it real hard to use in the car on the charger cable.
Thanks, Jeff. Starting to wish I stuck with my basic non-smart phone, it always worked right up to the end.Brand new lg g2, never around water, only had it 5 days so far. Yes I have added some apps, but this was issue before I loaded anything other than the stock install. I can reproduce by going to settings -> mobile data, plug phone in and screen freezes, unplug phone and screen starts working. It also happens happens if I go to the help app and user manual (same process). This mostly occurs on the settings app. also note: the only apps I have loaded are the same apps I use on my Samsung note 8 and have been for a while now with no issues. Both devices are running kit kat

Screen Freeze from MacBook Pro to MacBook
When using Face time from my 2008 era mac book pro to a basic mac book of the same vintage, the screen freezes and the app bombs on the mac book. Is this a memory problem. No problem going from an iphone 4 to the mac book. Is it the mac book pro or the basic mac causing the problem? Anybody have any insight?

Is there a URL to open phone app (not dial a number)?

So I'm using Launch Center Pro (loving it, by the way) but I've come across a bit of an issue. I put in most of the numbers I dial into LCP to act as a speed dial and, as a result, relocated the phone app to the last page of my iPhone. However, if I get a voicemail and miss the notification I have to swipe all the way to the last page to open the app and access them. I'm wondering if there's a URL (like LCP uses, some variation of tel://) that allows me to simply open up the phone app or, if possible, open to the voicemail page? I noticed that when you do dial a number in LCP it opens the prompt window in LCP and not the dial screen in the phone app.

In my experience advising Logic users, depending upon the version of Logic and the model Mac you are using, if your Mac will boot from Snow Leopard, you can install Logic and all of its plug-ins in Snow Leopard and then upgrade to Mavericks. -
The Iphone 4 patch IOS 7.6 is suppose to be a security update but it freezes the phone and doesn't reset. Help I need my phone. What makes the phone go back to normal? There is nothing but a simulated plug in wire and an ITunes icon on a black screen.

I have the iPhone 4S. Since I updated to the iOS 6 my phone keeps freezing and the apps crash all the time. Sometimes it freezes up to a minute. And there's no way of fixing that. Is apple going to fix this? I'm not the only one having this problem.
You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.

help.... i've faced this problem since the windows phone 8.1 updates.... sometimes my screen freeze after unlock my phone . sometimes after open an app the touch screen not respond to my touch... i tried all the ways like turning off wifi etc and still

iPhone 6 screen freezes and can't find wifi after iOS 8.0.2 update. Have to do a hard reboot. I am Extremely disappointed and lost ALL trust in Apples Quality Assurance. From now on I'll wait a week before I update.

It sounds like your phone touchscreen is not consistently working for you after updating to iOS 8. I can see how that would be pretty frustrating. It sounds to me like this could be a software issue or an issue with the screen itself. I would start with the troubleshooting in the following article to help troubleshoot the screen itself:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If that does not resolve the issue, I would next quit all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Phone app not working iPhone 5 iOS 8
Hi,
After I installed iOS 8 the phone app on my iPhone 5 is not working anymore. When I try to open it, or it shows only a blank screen and crashes after a few seconds, or it opens and freezes so can't navigate to another field for example from "favorites" to "recently" etc. Today I installed the update 8.0.2 and still have the same problem.

I'm on 8.1.2 (installed a couple of days ago)on my iPhone 5S and last night I had a missed international call.
I went into the RECENT CALLS tab and bam, it froze.
So the Apple Phone app is now useless. Every time I go in I just get a white blank screen.
I've tried everything I can think of except doing a hard reset back to factory settings and I don't want to do that because I've just been through a hard couple of days getting some professional apps to run and inputting a lot of detailed VPN settings working with our corporate help-desk and I was just about to take a new backup. Plus I'm not not even sure it's going to stay stable for long - I have business colleagues with the same phone on 8.1.1 and their RECENT CALLS screens are showing very erratic behaviour. On the older releases it seems the solution was to delete the RECENT CALLS data but then it was under General Settings. Now you need the frozen screen to do this.
Last night I was having to make calls sitting in the car using the multimedia Bluetooth center.
Then I realised I could work through contacts to make calls.
Then I saw this thread this morning and used the tip to use a 3rd party dialer (***?). Fantastic!
So I can make calls but I can't see any details of missed calls. -
