Screen freezes up--or doesn't display

I posted before, but I didn't get any assistance. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions that you might have. The problem up to this point has been that, upon waking my computer from sleep, I'll go to click on something (i.e. the Safari icon in my toolbar), and the computer screen will go fuzzy and freeze. So, I thought, I won't put my computer to sleep anymore. I'll just do "shut down" when I'm not using it. Well, that creates other issues. When I push the power button on the back to power the computer on, it may take 1-2 tries before I get to my desktop. The chord always plays, and the apple always displays. But I may just get a blank white or blue screen--no desktop. This is a new occurrence. These problems have just developed in the last 2 days. I recently moved and had my iMac shipped via FedEx. However, I haven't had any problems in the few weeks since it was delivered. They've just started now. Also, I recently downloaded Firefox. Those are the only things that I've done differently. Up to now, my iMac has worked beautifully. Again, if you have ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Many thanks.

I think I'm having the same problem and frustrations. I purchased my g5 in December 2004, and it began giving me these problems about a month or two ago. It has gotten to the point where I have to restart my computer (by holding down the power button) at least 4 times before I can get the machine to work properly. The start up screen will freeze then often scramble into a mix of blue, white, and grey patches. Other times I'll get vertical bars that fade in color on the screen, and sometimes I'll get all the way to my active desktop and then it will freeze and kind of give a 'wind effect' to everything on the screen. I finally got fed up and called apple customer service and the guy informed me that my machine might belong to a batch thats undergoing a repair extension program. How can I fix problem of Screen freezing in Fullscreen view display.

Click Vie , Full Screen. Have multiple tabs open. Screen freezes. Prompting does not drop the tabs back down to switch pages etc. Happens randomly, several times a day, since upgrade to Firefix 9. Prior to that I never had an issue with the Full screen feature and used it ALL the time. Please help.I do not want to lose this feature!!!

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

(ipod 30Gig) doesn't display the song that is playing on the ipod screen

Every time I click on the song I want to listen to, the screen slides over and the new screen is blank. The song plays but the song that is "now playing" doesn't display any information on the screen at all. It is totally blank. Has anyone ever heard of this happening. I don't want to reset my ipod for such a small problem because I've erased a lot of the music I have on itunes. At the same time it is annoying to not see the song name/length/volume or album art.

I actually had this happen once and a reset worked. I think you are confused by what a reset is. A reset is when you press and hold the Menu and Select button for at least 6 seconds or until the Apple Logo apears; this does not erase music on your iPod. A restore is when you use the iPod updater to erase all of the files on your iPod and put it in the original Factory settings.

No, that is the problem. I don't see how it should be, but that is what happened after I did the upgrade, which was for iPhoto 9.2. The upgrade then required that the Library be upgraded. Then CS2 stopped showing the photo when I opened CS2. Maybe there was a system upgrade for the whole system, that went along with 9.2. Before the upgrade CS2 worked. I even tried photos that I had on backup disks, and they wouldn't show in CS2 even though I had draged them to the PS icon in the dock. These photos were not on my computer when the Library was upgraded. I even tried photos fresh from the camera. Elements 9 does work to open the photos.

Satellite M30X-111 screen doesn't display anything but external monitor works

My laptop screen just doesn't display anything (look like when the computer is off) but when I connect the external monitor, then the desktop will be displayed on that monitor. I tried to recover the laptop using the recovery disk and it worked again, but today, it stopped working again.
I again have to plug in the external monitor, and after I tried to reboot, I keep pressing F8 but the start up mode doesn't come up, only the sound of when you keep pressing a button for too long beeps, however, the laptop monitor works again.
How do I fix this problem?

According to your first posting I presume that LCD display on your notebook is defective. If you can not see BIOS settings or Toshiba welcome screen there must be some display problem.
Experiment with external display is to be sure that graphic card is not responsible for that. In your case it works with external display and graphic card can not be responsible.
Like I said try to enter bios settings and report if you can see Toshiba welcome screen.

Launch Contacts, then on the "Window" menu select "Zoom". That should maximise the window and give you access to the bottom-right corner where you can resize it, and the bar at the top which you can drag around.

T60 Laptop Doesn't Display On-Screen Volume After Hotkey Features Integration Update

I have a ThinkPad T60 (2008-HC6) laptop running Windows 8 Pro (32-bit). Today (1-24-2013), I installed the "Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 8" update that was released on January 18, 2013. After reboot, the on-screen indicator that pops up when I change the volume on my laptop by pressing the volume up, volume down, or mute keys doesn't show up. The keys work fine, but the indicator doesn't display.
I've already tried looking for a solution online. One common solution, installing Lenovo Energy Management, didn't solve my problem. No other software was changed on my laptop between when the power indicator last worked and when I installed the Hotkeys update.

I figured out the problem was with the "On Screen Display" portion of the update. This particular update has two parts to it. First, it adds the "Lenovo Patch Utility" program. Second, it updates the "On Screen Display" program, assuming that an older version was already on the computer being updated. Adding the "Lenovo Patch Utility" didn't cause any harm, but updating the "On Screen Display" prevents the on-screen volume indicator from displaying.
Ultimately, what I ended up doing was removing the "On Screen Display" with the same utility that I used to update it. Then I downloaded the next newest version of the utility and installed that utility's version of the "On Screen Display" program.
My on-screen volume indicator is now back and running fine.

WRT54G version 6 - router setup screen via Internet Explorer 7 doesn't display correctly

I've just set up my WRT54G router. I'm able to connect to the internet and I'm able to connect directly to the router via IE but the setup screen doesn't display correctly. I've tried resetting the computer and updating the firmware but it still doesn't display correctly. Almost all of the text is missing except for the Linksys logo and a few drop down menus. Any help/suggestions would be great, thanks.

There a number of things that you can do to solve this problem but most of them involve changing the rules that you have already configured in your ZoneAlarm profile. My preferred solution is to:
-unplug your router from the WAN (why not?)
-turn off zone alarm
-access your router's administration page at http://192.168.1.1
-find the admin page where you can switch admin access from http to https
--- **save your changes !!**
-reboot your router
-plug the WAN cable back into your router
-turn ZoneAlarm back on
-access your admin page at https://192.168.1.1 ( note the 's')
Bob is your sister's brother! Your admin page should work as it is supposed to. Your router and ZoneAlarm should be playing nicely together. You haven't borked your finely tuned zonealarm rules. You were going to bookmark your admin page anyway, and if you want to allow remote administration, you would want to use https anyway. Nothing is broken and you fixed two things. TS3274 dropped ipad now screen doesn't display

My daughter dropped her ipad and now the screen doesn't display anything. We can see some light changes but nothing else. It appears that the screen can still be touched to use apps because we are able to play music. Any suggestions on what we should do?

Not sure if you've fixed this, but it really works. After reading similar advice, I banged it on the corner of my couch and the display totally came back clear as day. Could not read it before.

Have you tried any of these?
iPod won't turn on.
iPod battery doesn't charge.
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize the iPod is connected.
iPod only shows an Apple logo and doesn't start up.
Putting iPod into disk mode.
Restoring using disk mode is often the key.

Probably an issue with the App itself, not with iOS 7 or your iPad. There will probably be an update coming out soon as there are many people having issues with that App
