Screen freezing when trying to watch BT sports through Apple TV

I got Apple TV in January 2015, when i try to watch BT Sports through my IPad air the screen freezes.  I have moved the router nearer to the devices but it has not made a difference. Anyone have any solutions i could try?

I have the same problem...
Months ago, when the version 2.0 software was released, I upgraded, because I was happy about Apple TV supporting AirTunes. But, the upgrade was a disaster in that the Apple TV became completely unusable.
Problem 1: Menus would stick forever, whenever displaying "My" content (i.e., my music, my movies), presumably because it was terribly inefficient at building the image slideshow thing to the left
Problem 2: During playback of a video file (again, in "My" stuff), it would just hang or stop completely at seemingly random times.
Anyway, I backtracked to version one of the software, because version 1 has always been rock solid for me.
So, the point is, the software is now on version 2.3, and I downloaded it, and lo and behold, those two problems still exist, which makes the Apple TV again completely useless for the one main thing I use it for...watching stuff from podcast downloads / DVD rips / my music, etc. Was there ever any fix for this?

  • Itunes screen freezes when trying to load songs in new ipod shuffle

I just bought an ipod shuffle for my mother but when I try to load songs from itunes, the screen just seems to freeze until I disconnect shuffle.
I tried to restore it but it doesn't work ("error 1418" is all I can get).
I don't understand why since I have no problem with my ipod nano on the same computer.

Be sure to use a rear port on your Shuffle, it needs full power to work.

  • PC freezes when trying to watch videos on internet

From september i couldn't watch any video on internet(youtube, facebook, and other websites) when using mozilla and everytime i play a video PC freezes,so i downloaded chrome and it worked fine, but few days ago PC started freezing again when watching videos online on chrome.(I'm sorry for grammar mistakes, english isn't my birth language, hope you understand)
    I tried re-installing mozzila,re-installing flash player but that didn't work,please help me,what other solutions can i try?

Recent freezes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
    * [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]

  • Computer freezes when trying to watch a video downloaded from itunes

I have a dell m1330 running windows vista, and whn i try to watch a recently downloaded tv show from itunes, the video will freeze, and the computer will too. I have to restart the computer. The computer also froze when i tried to sync the video to my iphone. I am using itunes 8.0.2.20 and the latest version of quick time. Also I am currently travelling in Japan although I live and have my account in the US

Unfortunately you may not be able to burn movies to any DVD (and might be illegal); here is a link to Apple's iTunes legal info:
    http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SALE
    Excerpt:
+(iv) You shall be authorized to burn an audio playlist up to seven times.+
+(v) You shall not be entitled to burn video Products or ringtone Products.+
From what I've been able to gather, it is not allowed to burn video and, according to the Terms of Use (on the right of this page), we are not allowed to discuss methods to circumvent such restrictions or it may result in deletion of posts by the hosts.

  • Youtube videos freezing when trying to watch, hibernate problem.  Brand new Lion install

    Hello,
I have just reinstalled Lion from the recovery partition, straight Lion install so no Snow Leopard to Lion upgrade.
I have carried out all software updates etc. However, when I attempt to watch videos on youtube the player freezes my page and it fails to load.  I have also experienced problems going fullscreen.  I use safari and not a third party browser.
I have a 2.4ghz Core i5, with 4gb ram and a 10mbps broadband connection, so can't really see this being a performance issue.
The laptop should still be under Applecare so if needs be it is an option, but if I can get this is something quick and easy to fix then that would be ideal.
Also it might be worth to note that sometimes the laptop has problems coming out of a sleeping state, the keyboard will light up and I can see a very dark picture on my screen if I concentrate, the only way I can recover from this is to hold the power button to turn it off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, these problems have been driving me insane!

Most YouTube videos require the Flash plugin. Try troubleshooting ..
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first before re installing.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
Also it might be worth to note that sometimes the laptop has problems coming out of a sleeping state, the keyboard will light up and I can see a very dark picture on my screen
Try resetting the Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
Doubtful the Flash issue is related to sleep mode.

  • Safari freezes when trying to watch some Youtube videos

Sometimes I hate watching videos on youtube because something is causing it to lock up with the spinning ball as soon as I click play. At first I thought it may have something to do with the footage being in HD but I can easily turn that option off. I normally will have to force quit Safari then open it again, go back to youtube, pull the video back up, then it will play fine with no issues! Why does it take that process to watch some of these videos?
Anybody else having issues with youtube and safari locking up?
Is there a workaround besides the way I have to do it when this occurs?

    HI,
Most YouTube video is streamed via the Flash player plugin. Try uninstalling the current copy of Flash, then reinstalling new then repair permissions.
Go here and follow the instructions. Uninstall Flash
Install the most recent version of Flash here.
    Now repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Probably a good idea to run the AHT is the fan situation persists. http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=12361787#12361787
Make sure there is enough free space on the startup disk. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

When trying to watch videos on various websites including YouTube, the video screen is completely green. I can hear the audio, but no visual. • HT1491 Downloaded movie from Itunes onto Ipad, when tried to watch it would not start

Downloaded movie from Itunes onto Ipad, when tried to watch it would not open and start.

From iTunes on the iPad or from iTunes on your computer? BTW, you are trying to watch the movie in the videos app, correct?
if you synced the movie to the iPad, delete it and sync it again. Tap the Edit Button in the Movies tab of the Videos app and then tap the X on the movie icon to delete it. Then sync it again.
if you downloaded it directly to the iPad, close the videos app completely, reboot the iPad and then try again.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Does anybones screen freeze when texting or using bbm?

iv only had my 9300 for about 3 months and since day one the texting would freeze for about 5 seconds before it would allow me to type another letter and today its been a nightmare the screen freezes when im texting and using bbm for so long i have to take the battery out to turn it off. im not sure how to contact blackberry over this problem. its really annoying me.

    Sue,
I actually installed new RAM - 2 GB, and the problem still seems to persist. It is on all the new movies we have imported and are attempting to edit. This all seems to have started when we went from iLife 05 to iLife 06. At that point, we did not have the added RAM, but now with the added RAM and I know we have 15-20 GB free on disk space, we are still having the screen freeze when playing back a scene or scenes we are trying to review after adding an effect or making audio changes, or just any change.
I am still frustrated and I dont know what my options are as far as support or customer care. Can I go to a genius bar? Do I need to bring the machine to show them? Is there anywhere I can call to help? Would I call iLife support or hardware support?
I am a windows guy and I am helping my kids and wife on this one, and everyone raves at how effortless and integrated a MAC is, but with this type of an issue I feel stuck and there is no good documentation or my searches never seem to product any decent results that even hint at helping. I have seen similar issues and heard about alot of issues with the MAC and trying to do the movie stuff, but that is what it is touted for?
Give me some options and I will try anything.
Are you an Apple employee or just a loyal user?

  • Creative Zen Vision 30Gb Stuck in Recovery Mode, Freezes when trying to deal with Firmware

My Zen Vision is stuck in Recovery Mode. The PC recognizes it but it comes up as 50mb Storage Media. When you touch Reload Firmware or Format All, it freezes and you have to pull the battery out to shut it off. I don't know what to do. Charges fine, never said anything about HARDWARE issues, just can't get it to not freeze when trying to load firmware back onto it.

I did the same thing, my unit was working perfectly.
I just read that these players have a laptop 2.5 hard dri've installed in the unit. If this is true, the next chance I get, I will take my unit apart (40 gig nomad zen xtra) and see if I can reinstall the firmware directly. It's probably what they do at the repair sho

  • Ipod nano 5th generation freezes when trying to play a song or video

Within the last couple of day my ipod nano 5th generation started freezing whenever i tryed to play a song. Oly way i could turn it off was by resetting it, however it did not fix the problem and still freezes whenever i try to play a song. I have even restored it to factory setting and it does the exact same thing. I don't understand why it does this, does anyone know why it freezes and won't stop? i don't have any warrenty on it and want to know if it is fixable, because it just randomly started freezing when trying to play music. If any one knows why it would be appriacted to know.

Does this happen with any song or video you play?  If so, then my best guess would be a hardware issue since a restore to factory settings did not resolve it.

Perhaps you should ask over in the iPad community, you may get better answers there.
It's actually my fault that psoon ended up here ... s/he intially posted over at Home Sharing, and I tried a relocate request to Apple TV rather than iPad.
