Screen frozen in black iphone 5

Hy
The screen of my iphone 5 frozen in black..seems like my phone no is still ringing as a friend of mine tryed to call me but my phone doesn't do anything..anyone can help me?

Are you running disk repair or permisions repair? If it is disk repair there might be a problem with your drive, if it is permissions repair, there will always be something, but I would not worry about that. that. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088

  • Can you put a white iphone screen on a black iphone 4s?

My Black iphone 4s screen cracked and I was wondering if I could change it to a white screen. Is it possible? or are the two different?

Not if you ever want to be able to get it serviced by Apple if it's needed, no.

  • Why is the screen on my black iPhone so much better than my white one?

the white's screen is washed out and the black has more contrast and is brighter

If it bothers you enough, make an appointment with the Genius at Apple Store. When you get there, compare your iPhone to the Demo Models at the Apple Store. Show the Genius that your iPhone does not have the same good quality as the Demo Model to justify a Replacement with normal quality iPhone.

  • I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well.

I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well. However, itunes can not do anything with the phone because the phone is locked and I can not unlock the phone because the screen is black.
    >CURVEBALL!!!<
The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
    Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

  • My iPhone 5 won't turn on, the screen just stays black!

My iPhone 5 won't turn on I have held the power button to see if it's dead or not and it doesn't seem to change the screen it just black I thought the battery could of died or something similar it only happened about 2 hours ago please help!

    Hey Thermali,
Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far. To completely isolate the issue, you may want to follow these steps:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    - Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    - Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    - Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    - After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    - If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
                   - If the display remains black, go to next step.
    - Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to
restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    - If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • My iPhone 4 this morning just shut off by itself all of a sudden. The screen is all black and I cannot receive calls, or anything.Anybody knows what the problem could be and how to solve it?

I was listening to music when the volume turned down by itself and by the time I took the iPhone out of my bag I couldn't hear anything anymore and the screen was totally black. I tried turning the phone on again (thinking it somehow shut itself off) but it didn't work.
I also tried hooking it up to the electricity hoping the battery would charge, as well as hooing it up to the computer and connecting it to itunes, nothing happened.
My friends tried to call me and told the phone was ringing just normally as if I wasn't picking up. What can I do? (considering that i bought the iPhone on aug. 20th, 2011) and I'm away for the weekend, if anything happens I'm without means of communication...
    Thanks in advance!

just do reset, press home button and power butoon for a while untill you can see apple
    gud luck

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

  • HT201263 my iphone 5 screen has gone black, and when i plug it into itunes it says we have discovered a iphone in recovery mode, then when i try to restore it it just says waiting for iphone and doesnt get anywhere else. ny clue on how i can fix this prob

when i upgraded my iphone to the new update My iphone 5 screen went completely black and has been like it for 2 days. I have tried holding home and lock,I have tried holding lock and the volume, and I have tried holding just the volume, it still just stays black.
When i plugged it into my Mac the apple logo comes up on the iphone screen. and then on the computer it says itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes. (as in the below pictures)
when i click ok to restore it just says waiting for iphone (as in the other photo below). i left it in for 20minutes and still said the same thing.
after that i tried unplugging the iphone and it just went back to being a black screen again if anyone has any idea please please help me, thank you.

I searched the iPod Touch forum for "iphone in recovery mode" and it appears there are two possible solutions:

  • Why is it when using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes turn black or have blue stripes on it? What's wrong with it and what should I do?

When using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes become black or have blue stripes on it! Is this a hardware or software problem? Can this issue be covered by my warranty? I bought it inmid-december last year, and this problem came at around Late January. It's a rare case, only came about 5 times, but this really concerns me. What's wrong with it? Thank you so much for your concern.

    thank you for your reply
I brought it to the store and they agreed to give me an exchange. thank goodness!
I have a new question: I've now transferred my back up datas to my new iphone. They wanted me to register, so I registered (as my old apple ID) and then they asked if I want to restore backup, I did that too. after the restore back up process, the only things that aren't there were my music and apps! what should I do to get them into my new iPhone?

  • My iphone 4s works, but the screen is completely black... does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi i woke up three days ago to my iphone 4s not working, assuming it had no charge i plugged it in and fully charged the battery.
when i returned the screen was still black, but the phone was functioning (ringing and accepting text messages etc)...
The screen has been blank since and have tried things like restoring and hard resets, but this has not worked. a very very vague image appears when in use but it is almost impossible to see.
Can anybody suggest a way to maybe fix this issue if it is possible?
If it is not possible would i be entitled to a replacement or free repairs as I have had the phone less than 1 year and should still qualify for the warranty?
Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

Make an appointment at the genius bar and get the phone replaced. It sounds like the backlight has failed.
If it's under warranty, there will be no charge so long as the phone isn't physically damaged.
