Screen gap at bottom?

Hello,
Could anyone answer two questions for me? What is the gap at the bottom of the screen for? There's a much larger gap between the screen and the bottom of the watch face then there is at the top. What's that gap for?
Also, my screen looks slightly out-of- square. Like the screen is a bit tilted in the housing. Anyone else noticed that?
Thanks

Thanks. I may not be calling it by the best description when I refer to it as a gap. But take a look at these images. I just went to Google Images and typed in Sony SmartWatch 3. These three pictures came from the first page. What I'm wondering is why there's so much more space between the bottom of the screen (the actual square that lights up in the watch face) and the bottom border of the watch than there is between the top of the screen and the top border of the watch.  I didn't really notice this when I first got this watch a few days ago, as I had a digital watch face on the screen. But then I installed an analog watch face and it really became noticeable that the actual screen inside the watch face is shifted towards the top of the watch rather than being in the middle of the watch face. Just wondering why that is?  I thought maybe I had a defective watch, until I saw all of these pictures on google images with the same condition.

Unplug any peripherals you have except your keyboard, reboot, and check activity monitor for apps.  Keep running apps to a minimum to find the App causing the issue.

  • Why doesn't the screen respond in bottom part

why doesn't the screen respond in bottom part

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If they fail to resolve the issue, this would tend to indicate a hardware issue.

  • I have lines from the top on the screen to the bottom the right one acts like the cursor now I have a transparent white line down the center of the screen about 1/8 inch thick.  Anyone know what is causing this?

I have lines from the top of the screen to the bottom 4 lines.  They are the size of the cursor and the one on the right acts like the cursor.  Blinks.  The other day I brought compuer up and I have a white transparent line right down the center of the screen about 1/8 inch thick.  Does anyone know what is cauing this?  Also computer is running slow.

Post a screen shot if you can by pressing cmd+shift+4 for only a certain section or cmd+shift+3 for a full screen shot.

  • Iphone 6 plus screen gap issue

I just opened up my brand new iphone 6 plus 64gb gold, and i noticed at the bottom left side where the screen meets the metal part of the phone there is a tiny gap, it's noticeable tho. When i push the bottom corner down the gap disappears but return when i let go.
Is this a known problem?? Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks

I feel your pain! I have the same problem with my new iPhone 6. My iPhone 5s has cooler/brighter whites, but my iPhone 6 with a supposedly better screen shows them warmer/duller. I stopped at two T-Mobile stores this morning to compare my phone with their display models, and in both cases my phone look dull and drab. Because of the warmer whites, text has less contrast and therefor looks blurrier, too. I was considering going to an Apple Store to see if they could exchange the phone, but as you've demonstrated there's no guaranty that you'll get a better phone. After spending $850 on what I thought was a phone with a bigger, better display, I now wish I'd just stayed happy with my 5s or even considered switching back to an Android phone.

  • Gap at bottom of maximized program

    Hi,
first of all: I'm not sure if this 'problem' is related to Mountain Lion or exists in older OS X versions as well.
I happened to notice, that when I maximized (important: maximized, not full-screen) any program in OS X it widens to the border of the screen on top, left and right, but not at the bottom. There is always a gap of a few pixels. I can reproduce this behaviour on an iMac and on the 15 inch Retina Macbook.
I attached a screenshot for this particular area of the screen. The used program is iPhoto but it really is not program-specific. The gap I'm describing is black as the desktop background is black.
Does anybody know if there is a possibility to maximize a program even there as well? Thank you very much!

Having played around a while, that seems to be a gap for the Dock. Not sure if it is supposed to be there, or just an artifact. I have my Dock on the side of the display, so I didn't see it at first. With the Dock on the side, the window zooms to the very bottom. With the Dock on the bottom, it leaves that gap when zoomed.
Also, you can't "Maximize" a window. You can "Zoom" a window, and the zoomed dimensions are variable.
Zoom should toggle between a user-defined window size and the largest window to contain all of the window contents, up to the display dimensions.
EDIT: The gap seems to be on purpose. It may be to leave a target to hit the Dock.
I played around more with iPhoto and it leaves a gap on the side when I have the Dock on the side.

  • Viewable area is scrunched to the top while a blank no man's land covers 90% of the screen at teh bottom.

The database I am trying to work work with shows up fine on teh computers at work. On my laptop at home with Firefox, there is a horizontal scroll bar about 90% of the way up that is immovable. I cannot grab the bar in any way shape or form to move it down and expand the working area to the full screen. I can scroll up and down in the top 10% of the screen and see my data, however, it is too compressed to be of any use to me. The bottom portion is a blank space; no action can be performed here. It's like the bottom horizontal scroll bar was moved up and locked in place.

    Hi captfred
    Yes - that solved it
Many, many thanks - I feel so foolosh. it's not as if I am new to Macintosh - bought my first in 1988 and have been Macintosh ever since!
    Thanks again.

  • Display not showing same color/contrast at top of screen as at bottom.

I just got the new Al and Glass 2.4 Ghz imac and my wife noticed that the colors at the top of the screen were deeper and showed more contrast. The same colors at the bottom of the display looked washed out. This is unaffected by viewing angle and tilt of the monitor. I have recalibrated my monitor and tried changing the resolution but the problem was not resolved. Does any one have any suggestions? I'm out of ideas.

As a long time Mac user, I recently bought the new glossy iMac. Having lived with the new imac for the last week and now just cant bear to look at it due to the screen colour difference from top to bottom and like the pervious reply, it seems I have no option but to spend more money for the 24" and then end up with something that is too big for my desk and didt want in the first place, but it may be my ONLY option. It is totally useless for any kind of photography use, which was one of the main reasons why I went for it - oh and yes, I have done gamma and colour calibration
That said, when I called Apple there was no dispute and they immediately said that it would be replaced. So I am awaiting delivery of the replacement unit, not that I really expect it to be any better, but I am willing to give it a try at least. If that fails, then I will have to look into the possibilities of getting the 24" one.
If I had not already pre-sold my eMac, I would gladly have it back and forget that whole iMac thing ... I am just SO disappionted.

  • The bottom bar on my mail has disappeared which means I can't create, reply or forward to an email. Any ideas how to get it back? Touching the screen at the bottom doesn't work!

The bottom bar in my email seems to have disappeared which means I can't create, reply or forward any emails. Any auggestions to how to get it back? Touching the bottom of the screen doesn't work. Thanks.

Close all apps in the Multitasking Drawer; Double Tap Home Button to open drawer, Swipe up on each app to close it. Repeat until all apps are closed, touch home screen.
Restart phone, hold both Home and Power/Sleep buttons down at the same time, continue to hold them down until the Apple Logo appears, Release both buttons and wait for phone to restart.
Check email app to see if bottom bar and new email icon have come back.
If not, delete the email account in settings and then add it back in again.
If mail still not working as it should, you may try doing a Reset All Settings reset in Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings.  You won't lose any data, music, apps, videos, pictures, etc.  But you will have to go back in and turn on or off any settings you changed on your phone because everything will be set back to factory defaults.

  • Gap at bottom of project

    I recorded a project at a resolution of 955x637 when I view
the project there is a gap at the bottom of the project where the
playbar would be. I moved the playbar to the bottom right corner
and the gap still remains. Do I need to change a setting in the
skin preferences to get rid of the gap?

    Hi AW Corp,
Yes, that's what you would try. Go to "Project > Skin >
Borders (tab) > Width" and try adjusting that number (downward).
I have no idea why the height of the border at the bottom is called
    "Width" - it just is.
Alternatively, you might try just selecting no borders
    (uncheck the "Borders" box).
    Hope this helps!
    Ciao~

  • Part of screen not working - bottom of screen not registering.....

    Hi all,
The screeen on my 3GS is completely un-responsive at the very bottom of the screen - for about half a centimetre from the bottom ( near the home button).  As a result I can't, for example, swap from letters to numbers on the keyboard when it comes up (that is the bottom button) etc etc.   When I press on that section, it tends to 'register' on a space higher above, on the next 'key' up, when using the keyboard.
It seems the register is all out.
I have tried opeing maps and checking each corner and using the keypad on the calculator ( to see where it won't work) but to no avail.
I have done a shutdown, a re-start, a restore from archive and now a restore as a new phone, and nothing has chnged the situation.  Except for the fact that I now can't even set up my phone, as in the set up process I need to be able to use the buttons at the bottom of the screen ( eg agreeing to the T&C's as well as using the keypad ( and swapping to numbers) to link into wi fi etc.  And yep, this area is stll not registering hence I can't move forward in the new phone set up process....
So in short I am stuck.
Any thought people?  Any of you got any clever ideas to help me out?
Thanks in advance for your info.

did you get a answer to this question my iphone 4s is doing exactly the same things jus updated it but cant sign in cuz i cant get any numbers up when im typiing!!!
