Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access. -
Screen goes grey and asks to hold down the power button and reboot
I have a
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
2GB Ram
Could this be a hardware or software issue? Didn't hear any noises associated with the hard drive which I first suspected. Happens frequently now.regnoc,
I haven’t used DiskWarrior, so I can’t comment on its trustworthiness. You can purchase a replacement pair of grey installation DVDs for your MacBook Pro from either Apple or iFixit. One of those grey DVDs has your model’s Apple Hardware Test, and the other one has a bootable version of Mac OS X. -

Ipod nano 5th gen - works fine when plugged in either to wall or computer and appears to be fully charged but as soon as it is unplugged screen goes blank and will not start - is the battery shot?
Yes, your battery is likely toast and in need of replacement. Not much else for troubleshooting here. Sorry.

i was trying to download windows 7 on mac book air 10.8.2.seems like i didnt copy my windos disk on the usb properly at the begining,so after the boot camp steps the screen is black and telle me to put the write disk.
eventually i made a coorect usb windows 7 and put it back to continue as it was saying so,but there is no change and the screen still is dark and says no bootable disk ,insert.
how to solve the problem?Right now I have 6 different systems installed. Windows XP, 7, and 8 plus Linux Mint, Commodore, and OS X Snow Leopard (for old times sake), all running on Mountain Lion.
I recommend reading the user manual as it greatly helps getting through the steps, however an intuitive person should pick it up fairly easily.
Thanks to BobTheFisherman for the link.
There are other ways to get Windows on a Mac but I'm a big fan of open-source software.
Give it a try. You might like it or it may not be your cup of tea. -

photoshop elements 12 editor doesn't open, organizer is fine. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it (restarted the computer each time)...didn't solve the problem. using pc, windows 8.1
can someone help me with this issue? Two suggestions: the first one is a workaround. You just have to drill down your program file tree to Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer and find the .exe file - the one specifically for Organizer, not Elements. Make a shortcut to that file on your desktop and it will open Organizer. The second suggestion resolved the problem altogether for me. I actually called Dell and after working with several different techs over several different days, I talked to a tech in premium support who was excellent. I discovered from them that it is actually a problem with the windows system files. I have 8.1. I went through a "refresh" on my computer which rebuilt all the files. Then reinstalled Adobe as well as my other programs again and Photoshop Elements Organizer works from the standard desktop shortcut.

My airport turns off by itself and I have to restart the computer for it to work again and it only turns off again. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8. What can I do to solve this problem?
Usually the HDD is the frist place to look. Use the original install disk and start up the MBP with the C key down. Go through the installation process until you see on the display a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
What are the results?

What do I do to straighten out this problem: When I try to access Firefox after I've logged out of a previous session I get a msg that Firefox is still running and I have to restart the computer in order to access internet...
All you need to do is wait. While Firefox appears closed, it's not. It doing house cleaning. Cleaning out cookies and cache. How long it takes depends upon how much garbage you have collected.
If you start the Task Manager and open the Process window, you will be able to see when Firefox has finished up and closed down.
If you forced Firefox to close using the task manager, then the house keeping process seems to freeze up.
Also, as you've already found out from the above link, some programs and plugins will prevent Firefox from closing properly. I've found this less common then simply being in a hurry. But you need to also consider it. -
ok i need to unlock my ipod but i don't know my password i use itunes but i need to update at the same time this srcews up the itunes and i have to restart the computer i need to restore the ipod please help
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

My G5 iMac has a screen color problem. The color is green with lines. What can I do to repar this? Sometimes the screen will freeze and I have to reboot the computer and the screen will be normal for up to 5-6 hours and then suddenly changes back to a greenish color.
Try running in Safe mode. This leaves out some video drivers. Which results in machine not using advanced video hardware.
