Screen has a white glow
I dropped my Ipod, and unfornutalely (even with a heavy duty case) the screen has suffered
damage and now has a white glow to it. This makes every thing really hard to see. I can still see my applications but not very well. Everything is functioning normally. I can see the screen clearly when I look at it from the side. Is the LED screen broken or is it a connection/ hard drive problem?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Hello everyone,
I've had an iPod Touch 4th generation for a few years now, and, today, for the first time, the screen has gone white and their are vertical lines on it. What happened was I accidentally dropped my iPod Touch on tile and it landed on its back. I tried it out right afterwards to see if it was still working and it seemed like it was perfectly fine. Later on, I got an email from one of my friends, so I slid the email button on the lock screen to see the email. In the email, there was a link to a gif image, so I opened it in Safari. After I was done with it, I closed that tab. I also had a second tab open from earlier, so I wanted to close that tab as well. When I clicked on the button to see all tabs and close one, the screen completely froze. I held on to the on/off button on the top of the iPod, and, after about a minute, the screen switched to a completely white screen with lines on it. I've tried holding onto the on/off button again and it doesn't work. I also tried plugging it into my Windows 7 computer and opening iTunes, but my computer doesn't even recognized it is plugged in. It won't appear under the "computer" section in Windows Explorer, which will allow me to do USB-related tasks with it. iTunes doesn't recognize that it is plugged in either, so I can't do anything like restore the iPod to factory settings. The home button on my iPod hasn't been working for a while so i've always been using the accessibility feature that gives me a home button on the screen. Now that I can't access that, I can't hold down both the on/off button and the home button at the same time. What should I do? Should I send it in to Apple for repairs (which I won't do and would rather buy a new iPod Touch)? I am thinking of just leaving it to, hopefully, have the battery drain and the iPod would die. Then, I could charge it and see what happens. Other than that, i'm just clueless right now and I have no idea what I should do. Please help me!
My iPod Touch is an iPod Touch 4th generation model with 8GB. It is running iOS 5.1.1.Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My Ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots on it. I have restored it and it shows in ITunes but the screen is still white. Is there anything I can do? The warranty has run out so I will have to pay for any repairs (if it can be repaired). Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
If you still have problems after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod then you very likely have a hardware problem. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Start with the article below to troubleshoot the issue of just a grey screen. See if you can reset the NVRAM and boot to Safe Mode. Let me know how far you get to further assist you in getting your MacBook to start working again.

Will not reboot? screen has a lite glow but will not reboot?
My phone will not Re -Boot? The screen has a light glow to it and I can hold down the power switch. After 30 seconds or so, the screen goes blank - that's it?
Make sure you are connected to power (ie not running off battery).
If you still have the black screen and can't get your Mac Book Air to turn off hold the power button until it shuts off.
Try a normal power on and if you get the same issue try a safe power on by holding the shift key during boot up. If you can't do a safe boot up try doing a recovery boot by holding the command key + R key during boot up and run disk repair.
If you are still having issues contact Apple for service. -

My Mac screen has suddenly got coloured vertical line on half of the screen and the first few that appeared last week now has gone completely white and that part of the screen just wont work, what can i do or can it be repaired?
This could be repaired but will be costly when compared to how much your machine is worth. At this point it may be better to cut your loses and sell it on ebay as parts. You could get 100-200 depending on the model and hardware.
Bottom line though it could be the LCD going bad but most likely its the GPU and sadly it is not a separate piece. It is integrated into the logic board. The machine could also have a common symptom of bad capacitors that could be affecting the video side of things. -
