You have probably engaged the orientation lock. On your status bar, right next to the battery indicator, is their an icon that looks like a lock with an arrow circled around it?

Open "Java Preferences" either from spotlight or your utilities folder...it's probably going to say you need to install a java runtime. Then just click install!

This is most often faulty Charger or Battery. Find another good working Wall Charger, or try Computer USB, but USB port is inferior to Wall Charger. While connected to Charger try a Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself. If still problem, Apple Store can perform free quick (minutes) battery diagnostic testing, make Genius reservation to avoid long wait.

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. If you have the newer ipad just swipe up on the home screen and the shrotcuts will come up and there will be a symbol for screen rotation lock (make sure its off)
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

HP OfficeJet 8600 printer screen display has stopped working. Not sure when, as printer would still "wake up" when I touched the screen and would print. However, today I had to get a new gateway modem from my ISP and now have a different home network. Instructions I've found on updating the printer with this information involve using the printer's screen. I've tried rebooting it. Any ideas on how to get the pringer screen working?

If it's in a particular app, force quit the app.
You could also power off, and then turn it back on and see if that helps.. -
SinceI have loaded the update, 5.1.1 my TIme Warner cable has stopped working. It gets stuck at launch all I see is the logo of TWC. I have reinstalled it, rebooted my IPAD.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Is It normal that my premium category 15" retina MBPs screen has ghosting issues, and I get declined from screen replacement?
I have purchased this hardware in Budapest for approximately 3000 usd. I was a bit shocked to see screen ghosting after a few days of use. The problem was getting worse but because I am a design consultant working mainly on my Mac I couldnt take a week off to leave It at an Apple service station.
Last week I was surprised to receive the information from the local Apple repair shop in Germany that my retina MBP that I bought 13 months ago was declined from screen replacement by Apple.
Considering the price of the product I find It unacceptable that I need to work on a defective product and see shadows every time I leave an Illustrator or InDesign window open for a short period of time.
Is there any way to resolve this issue? I wouldnt like to pay another 800 dollars just to replace a component on my defective Apple product.Contact Apple Support directly. In Germany the Expresslane or this number

Mind you, AppleCare and issues with Apple products like this have to occur without any user accidents or user installed parts to ensure that Apple will cover you. If there was a user accident or installed part, you may be turned down. If you have the original Apple parts, and did the installation yourself, replace it with the original parts very carefully following the directions on http://www.ifixit.com/ unless you can afford an authorized service provider to do it for you. Since we don't speak for Apple here, being end users like yourself, that's why I say "may", as I've seen Apple handle these things on a case by case basis. So hopefully you don't have any obvious damage that looks like it is user caused. Good luck! -

hi my ipad 2 screen has stopped fuctioning in parts of the screen when my ipad is tilted on its side and the keyboard is up some letters wont respond as quick as the others, its continuously the same letters, can anybody help solve this problem, i dont know if its a hardware problem or a software issue :/
Do the letters not work whichever app you are in e.g. Mail, Notes, Safari ?

If that doesn't fix it then you could try restoring to your last backup, and next after that would be resetting back to factory defaults. If it still doesn't work then it is possibly a hardware issue, in which case you should contact Apple.
