Screen is clicking on left side, and left side wont respond to touch

Hey guys. I've got quite the question for all the techies out there. I have an iPod Touch, just barely a year old. I turned it on today, and found a really annoying problem: the left 1/2 inch side of my touch screen (so, the far-left colum of apps) will not respond to any touch at all. I have tried shutting down, restarting, rebooting, any all of that sort of stuff. Nothing seems to help.
Also, when I apply even the slightest of pressure to the left side of my screen, it almost sounds like a 'click', like the screen is not fully connected to the back of the iPod. I have never heard this sound before, nor have I ever had any problems with it. Like I said, my iPod Touch will be a year old at the end of July.
Any help with this would be greatly appriciated. Thank you soo much!(:

Search the support website or contact the helpdesk of the equipment supplier. That would be the first place I'd try.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    hello
The problem appeared two days ago is that I can't open my mail app. everything was fine and functional. Now I double click on the icon and it does not respond. it receives mail and I can see push notifications on the mail icon but when  I try to open it is no use. OS Y 10.10.2 (14C1514)

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Restart the computer. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. Any custom stationery that you created may be lost. Ask for instructions if you want to preserve that data. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • My ipod screen wont respond to touch

My ipod was working just fine last night, then today I tried to listen to it and the screen wont swipe to unlock or anything.... What do I do? I've rebooted, restored it, everything, but it wont respond to touch.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

  • LI2721s 1 inch border on left, top, and right sides

    Hello,
I called tech support but they didn't even seem to know what I was talking about in regards to this monitor, someone will get back to me I was told.
I recently bought this on Amazon, and it looks great, the entire point of me upgrading my monitor was the entire "edgeless" monitor...... but I seem to have a 1.5 inch border (both bezzel, and black bars).  Is this just a fact of the monitor, in which case, it should really be told somewhere in the advertising that this monitor has a 1 inch border.  Orrrrr its a software issue, either or any help is appreciated.
    v/r,
    Z

    Hello Bgriffin2,
As I told you guys in Twitter, IMO this is not a technical problem, this is an advertaising problem. The black border is not part of the LCD panel, its part of the transparent plastic that protects the lcd, but is painted, there are no pixels behind that black border.
Can you guys plug one of these monitors and check this by your self and confirm me and the rest of the customers that this is a mistake in the advertising ?.  PLEASE TRY IT YOURSELF !
I'm copying below some review from Amazon.
"As many others posted, it is no where near edgeless. I've gone under my graphic's card settings and scaled it to 100% vertical and horizontal and still no luck. I looked at the screen under very good lighting and found that the black 2/5 inches from both the left and right edges are not pixels and is colored very well to blend in with the pixel screen."
"I'll weigh in with the "not edgeless" camp. It's actually not edgeless in two ways. 1) there's a 3/16" plastic frame around the entire monitor. It would be easy to look at the product photo and believe the glass goes up to the edge with only a band of plastic across the bottom."
"Secondly there's a 3/8" 5/16" band of dead real estate inside this plastic frame along the sides and top. This band is not apparent when the monitor is off, but when the monitor is on it just doesn't light up. It actually looked to me like i just needed to figure out how to scale the monitor properly, but i searched through all the options and no dice. Plus i verified that the actual live pixels measure 27" diagonally, so this is apparently the way it was intended to look."
"The screen has quite a large annoying bevel. Their description of "The Worlds first edgeless 27" IPS Display" is so massively misleading it's insane, "world first" lol, world's first what?"

  • Drag and Drop feature in start menu between right side and left side

Hello , I think it is a good idea to allow the user to drag items and apps from the left side of start menu and drop them in the right side, and vice versa. Such feature make life easier than clicking right button and choose unpin or pin to start.

If you want your idea/opinion heard, please use the Feedback app.
Posting at the forums won't get their attention, I don't think.

  • Chose a photo to print, then the screen went grey (spinning white icon), and iPhoto will not respond

I chose a picture to print, but instead of a print dialogue box, the screen went grey and iPhoto will not respond.  I have even shut down my iMac completely, but when I relaunch iPhoto, I get the same screen (grey with the spinning "thinking" icon).  I am running the latest version of Yosemite on the iMac.  Thanks for your help.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - from the resulting first aid window repair the database  and if necessary rebuild your database

  • Brand new out of box IPAd 3 middle of the screen is dead wont respond to touch

setting up my iPad the middle of the screen wont respond havent got past password setup as I made a mistake and the continue button is in the middle of the screen and wont respond
Had the same problem with setting the country up as it was in the middle scrolled it up or down the screen it was selectable but any other country in the middle was also unresponsive
have powered down a few times and still the same lucky we have an Apple store nearby cant do a reset either as I cant get far enough into the setup to get connected to my pc!!

Make sure iPad's battery is charged above 20% (we would recommend at least 50 - 60 %). If you are not sure charge you tablet for at least 40 minutes.
Make sure your Apple tablet is in Power On state.
Watching the shining screen of iconic tablet with apps' icons on it press and hold down the Wake/Sleep and the Home buttons simultaneously, ignore the red slide "to power off", just keep both buttons holding until the Apple logo appears. This logo is the signal that the hard reset has succeeded. Be patient, some times the hard restart of iPad may take up to 10 - 15 minutes. But such a long restart is a rare case.

  • Shadows in left corner and left part of screen Imac i5

    Hello,
I have been observing a  shade-smudge in the  lower left corner of my screen and a vertical shade-smudge as one can see in picture of my screen on white textedit. Unforutnately i do not remember or i have not observed it when i first bought my Imac. When i tried to get a screenshot with Grab it was not there. However it shows when you take a picture from a mobile, so that makes me think it must be either the glass or the panel . Any thoughts?

It can be normal for the screen to look garbled just after you wake your MBP from sleep - but it should return to normal within a second or two, not stay that way for much longer. If it does, you may have bad video RAM, or a faulty cable leading to the display panel.
I'd run Apple Hardware Test to check the video RAM. If it doesn't find anything wrong, I'd still have it looked at, since certain types of defects (for example, a bad display data cable) cannot be detected by AHT.

  • IPod Touch stuck at loading screen after clicking Erase all Content and Settings

I have a 4th generation iPod Touch running iOS 5.0.1 and I recently jailbroke it. I wanted to update to iOS 6 so I went to Settings>Genera>Reset and clicked on Erase all Content and Settings. It is now stuck on the spinning loading screen and its been like this for 3 hours. My homebutton no longer works so I can't put it into DFU mode. I tried to restore in itunes but it won't even connect to itunes and dosn't show up at all. If you have any info, please post. I really don't wanna have to replace my home button or get a new iPod. Thanks

Try the following as much as you can without Home button working. When it says to place the iPod in recovery mode use this program.
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
