Screen is frozen on access pad?

My iPhone 5 screen is frozen on the access pad. I have restarted it but it is still frozen. Any suggestions?

Have you restarted it like this
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart.

  • HT1688 apple iphone locked for password. The screen is frozen to access password change

For some reason I can't access the password retrieval screen . The screen is frozen with no access to resetting the password
There is an apple symbol where it is locked.

    Try a soft reset:
Hold power and home button until apple boot logo appears,
if this does not work put into dfu mode and restore through itunes.
How to put into DFU mode:
    Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.
    Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
    Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
The iPhone screen will remain black like this:
NOTE***: It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long!

  • Can't access contacts, numbers pad, voicemail, favorites. my screen is frozen on recent calls

All of a sudden I can't access my contacts, numbers pad, voicemail or favoites. My screen is frozen on recent calls. I can call from those listed but thats it. Is this related to the OS upgrade?

Close out of the phone app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
    Then check again.

Once again, KP is correct, but I just want to add that if you don't see the backup in the drop down menu on the summary page of iTunes when you choose the restore from backup option, then the backup is unfortunately gone. If you backup your computer, the iPad backup should probably be in that computer backup. I use Time Machine with my MacBook Pro and can access backups from months ago.
On a side note, I also archive backups from time to time. If you right click on a backup name in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Devices (Windows) or iTunes>Preferences>Devices (Mac) you can save that backup or archive it. It will be date and time stamped. I have no idea why I do this to the degree that I do it, but I probably have 12-14 iPad backups archived in iTunes.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • My iPod shows emails but the screen seems frozen

My iPod will not allow me to open emails or delete them. The screen seems frozen and touching it to open an email, edit etc., does nothing at all. I use my iPad to access emails and this activity is picked up on the iPod, but If I tap on an email to open it, nothing happens at all. Mail works okay as do other functions. Any suggestions greatly received.
    Thank you

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Mail and turn off and then back on the accounts
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT4061 iPad screen is frozen due to a pop up from I cloud which is not getting erased...any suggestions ?

iPad screen is frozen due to a pop up message

I'm guessing this pop-up is saying that you have not backed up your iPad recently...reset your device as detailed below to gain accessibility to your iPad again.
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • My ipad was dropped.  The screen is frozen on. How broke is it?

My I pad was dropped.  Now the screen is frozen on.....In fact, the battery life still says 70%, but it was dropped over 6 hours ago.  How broke is my device?

Possible "fix" that has worked for some users. Turm the iPad over and slap it hard on the back. You may have to do this numerous times.

  • My email screen has frozen what to do to fix

Hi can anyone help me please? My email screen has frozen so can't move the page up or down to read content. Can't access any other emails from the open page however I can go to notifications at top of page to open a new email but then same thing...screen frozen and I can't scroll up or down. Help!

Try closing the Mail app via the multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open the app :
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
iOS 7 : doubleclick the home button to open the bar, then swipe or drag up the Mail app from there and off the top of the screen
If that doesn't fix it then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My screen if frozen and I can't shut off my phone. I already have my assistiave touch button on my screen but it still own't let me shut off my phone. And my lock button doesn't work either

My screen is frozen on the camera and my phone won't let me shut it off. My lock button doesn't work and my assistance touch button won't let me shut it down either. My phone also takes hours to die and my battery if fully charged so i can't wait for it to die i need to get it back to normal asap! How do I get it to unfreeze?

A reset is when you press and hold both the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose any data. Give it a try.

  • When I boot up I get a complete white screen and can't access any thing including task bar. When I right click and hit properties it says it is a Firefox docum

I downloaded a video in a zip file, when it started the whole window went white. When I right click on the screen under properties it tells me it is a Firefox document. I rebooted to fix the problem and I saw a brief view of my wallpaper and desktop icons then back to the white screen. When I boot up or log in to the admin account (guest account is fine) I get a pure white screen. I cannot access any thing including the task bar. The only way out is to reboot and the problem repeats. I have booted with my anti virus program and it finds no problems. When I exit the anti virus program there is the brief view of the desktop and back to the white screen. HELP, I don't want to lose everything because I have to reload the OS.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right-click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.

  • HT201412 My lock screen is frozen. It will not let me slide to unlock or anything. I can't power it off because my lock button is broken and I can't do the assistive touch thing? Help!

My lock screen is frozen! It will not let me slide to unlock or touch the screen at all. I can't power it down either because the lock button is broken. A friend of mine said I might need a new Digitizer? Is there anyway I can avoid that? Pleasae Help!

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!
    Thanks!
