Screen is going ballistic
This problem first occurred a mont ago, the screen randomly appeared these think horizontal lines, and started moving up/down. Nothing on my computer was responding, I couldn't even get my music to stop, or skip to the next song. I closed my computer, then opened it, meanwhile my music had been playing the entire time. I than turned it off by holding down the power button. I thought the problem went away. I was wrong.
This week I've been experiencing having the same problem. It hasn't been as severe, but my screen randomly going crazy on me, then stops after 3 seconds is starting to concern me.

Have you tried resetting the PRAM and System Management Controller? Here's the links to the instructions. Give these a go and let us know what happens.

If the battery doesn’t charge
If the battery doesn’t charge, unplug your device and try these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris.
If you're using a USB power adapter, make sure it's plugged in all the way and the power outlet is working. If you're connecting to a computer, make sure it's on and can charge your device. To charge an iPad, you might need to use a USB power adapter and plug into a power outlet.
Try a different USB cable, USB power adapter, or USB port.
If everything seems to be working, reconnect your device and wait for 30 minutes.
If your device still doesn’t charge, try to restart it while it's connected to power. If you can't restart, reset your device.
If you can’t charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Laptop screen just goes dark and i have to cold boot
Hello.
My Macbook Pro 2.66Ghz i7, running 10.8 keeps crashing, in various programmes and its getting annoying.
The screen just goes dark but the lights stay on on the keyboard (if thats any help) and i have to cold boot.
Ive got a crash log from console if anyone can help please.

The repeated kernel panic you're experiencing is a common issue on the mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15". I have the same laptop and the same issue. It's caused by the descrete graphics card. One solution, albeit a bit disappointing and temporary, is to use an application called gfxCardStatus. It runs in the statusbar and tells you which GPU is running. You can use the application to set your laptop to use the integrated GPU only, which will put an end to your kernel panics. But if you are using applications which require heavy graphics (such as photoshop and most video games), you'll just have to count your luck.
Some other users have had their motherboard successfully replaced. Take it to an Apple Store and ask them to run a GPU test. They should find the error (a manufacture defect, it seems) and replace your motherboard, with or without warranty. I hope this helps.

My screen saver goes to black after a few minutes of running...any idea why?
I've got a brand new macbook pro. I just did the set up of the screensaver which draws from a pictures folder. The screensaver starts like it is supposed to but after a very brief time of running the screen just goes to black...no more screen saver. Any suggestions for what I have set wrong or what I need to change?
Also, when I'm loading a batch of pictures to my machine from my memory card is there a way to go through them and easily delete the ones I want to trash in a large screen (ie in preview or iphoto?) I don' see a delete button of any kind. For example in Micorsoft Office picture manager there's an 'x' and if you want to dump the picture while you are previewing them all/editing you can do it right from that screen.

Set the Display sleep slider to an interval longer than the interval at which the screensaver starts. For example, if the screensaver starts after 10 minutes, set the display to sleep after 20 minutes. You'll then get 10 minutes of the screensaver, followed by a blank screen. You can set the slider to Never, if you like, but that will waste a lot of energy over the life of the machine.

I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!). However, the really strange thing is this - there is now a thin yellow line, way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom, and stays there no matter where I go or what I do. I've never seen anything like this! It was not there before I did the upgrades. Anyone out there ever heard of such a preposterous thing ~ or have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Try starting your iMac with the original DVD that came with the machine then launch disk utility to repair your hard drive.

Please Help...why does my screen keep going to black in fcp?
I have just brought imac g5 (older version through private sale) and completed a beginners fcp course. When and got a lacie 250 , shot some stuff which I managed to capture! Then just tried to open project and now the screen keeps going to full black and I don,t know what to do! I would like to do a full system check and make sure all settings correct and to know why screen blacking out. I am very new to mac and don;t feel that at home with settings etc . Any advice would be very welcome and appreciated as I just want to practise now but I am stumped at the first hurdle!

Lenovo z50 screen keeps going black
I've had it for around 6 months with no problems, then in the last 48 hours, the screen keeps going black when I'm using it. It happens every 20-30 minutes. If I close the laptop lid and open it again, it works fine until the problem comes up again. I've tried downloading updates and placing a fan by it, but it keeps happening. Any ideas?

About the same time that this happened the icons in the dock lost some of their colour and the system preferences vanished. We managed to reinstate this. Any ideas?

Your iPod is toast. No amount of dry rice is gonna help.
"Coke" and other carbonated drinks are acidic (carbonic acid), not to mention loaded with sugars and other nastiness.
The acid will "eat" metals, like the lead and tin in solder, most liquids will wreak havoc with the LCD display, and since "Coke" and its cousins are acidic, they are also good electrolytes and will conduct electricity.
You can try filing a claim against your home owner's insurace, but barring that, you're out of luck. -
SCREEN OCCASIONALLY GOES BLACK
Hi: I have a Mini Intel, 512MB Ram. I use Safari and MS Word. Today, after having the Mini for about 9 months, the screen occasionally goes black, and stays that way for about 5-10 seconds. It occurs every so often, like about once every 10 minutes. I have repaired permissions, ran Yasu, checked the settings on Energy Saver, where I have the computer on all the time; the display is scheduled to go to sleep when the computer is not being used for 17 minutes; these are locked. I haven't had this problem before. I'd appreciate it if you could give me some suggestions as to what might be wrong and how to fix it. Thanks, Jerry.
Thanks so much for your replies. I haven't changed the monitor from its original settings; made sure the cables are in firmly; I use cables for all my peripherals. I checked the Console and I may have had a Kernel Panic (I don't know, but it said something about Kernels when the screen went black). Moving the mouse didn't hurry up its return to normal. So, I again ran Yasu. I've been on the computer now for about 20 minutes and so far it's been working fine. I'm very grateful for your quick replies and for your advice. Hopefully, it's fixed now. Good. This means that, in your existing account, a setting is bad or .plist file is corrupt. As identifying the rascal may take time, my suggestion is to move data to the new account, must be with administrative privileges. As the contents of each account is unavailable to the other, there are two methods:
- if you have a backup on an external disk, as you should (if not, consider this seriously, do not count on good behavior of hard disks), make a last backup on the existing account, and restore in the other account; when ready, delete the old (buggy) account
- if not, save your settings unto a flash drive; this is a limited backup just to avoid putting back settings for Mail etc. I am satisfied with iBackup (grapefruit.ch), but there are other backup utilitites, Time Machine, for example; TM does not allow limited backup, it works if you have a large external disk. If backup disk is not available, move files to shared folder, which is visibile from both accounts, and from there to the new account.
May seem difficult, in fact it is not. You must just move data from one account to another. Now, take care to new apps you install or new functions you activate. When you notice something strange, that may be the cause of this behavior. -

When FT is full screen, camera goes off when swipping to a different app or the desktop. This is frustrating to the other person. We were having a discussion and I said I wouls look it up and when I swipped to Safari, the camera went off. It makes the other person think the connection has been lost. Anywhere to report issues like this to Apple?
In reading other threads, I found a few that recommend a hard reset to solve the issue. I have tried it, and thus far haven't expereienced the problem again. Hopefully that's it then

My iPhone 4S screen is going crazy
I bought my iPhone 4S 3 months ago. Since last week, after going under the airport X-rays, the screen is going crazy, either it freezes, or opens things randomly, or doesn't work on parts of the surface.
The problem is that I bought it sim-lock free in Madrid's Apple store, but now I live in Tunisia. The only support here is provided by the carrier (Orange Tunisie) is for the iPhones sold by them. I don't know what to do. I thought the warranty was a global one for the sim-lock free ones.

And your device has to be officially unlocked, to work with other SIM cards.
