Screen is stuck in email  (draft folder)

screen is stuck in email  (draft folder) have "deleted" draft and also "sent" draft, but it won't go away and I can't get any other screen in mail. I have turned it off completely, yet when I come back to mail, it is still in that screen. How do I get rid of this screen so that I can get my email?

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

I thought I would voice my opinion as well.
I have an iPhone 3G and whilst I would like to say that it is excellent and that I enjoy using it the reality is that in its current state (2.02 software) it is unusable. I really had to hold my tongue there - I feel really mad at present and feel that apple should try to release software that has been through at least one decent test cycle.
I am on my second phone - the first being returned at the suggestion of apple care who suggested it may be a hardware fault - there was no fault with the hardware - again software issues but I exchanged it to cover both bases.
I have never found that the backup to work and simply do a full restore - which at present I perform on a daily basis as the phone locks at the apple screen on a daily basis and it then takes over 5 hours to restore - it is unusable.
I suspect the underlying issue in my case relates to the volume of applications that I load onto the device - but hey it should be fit for purpose!
What I am looking for here is honest recongnition and report of the issues and problems with the device from apple - and releases that give a clearer indication of their intended purpose i.e. a little more detail than "Bug Fix". Is that too much to ask?

  • One messege is stuck in the draft folder

I sent and email the other day and it got to where it needed to go to. The problem is that there is a copy of it stuck in the draft folder. Mail has never done this before, it only did this to this particular messege. I have sent other messeges since with no problem. If I trash the prefs for Mail, what will I have to reset if anything? Will this solve it?
    thanks
    Chris

Strange if these messages are re-appearing after deleting the Drafts mailbox for the associated account.
While composing a message, the message is temporarily saved in account's Drafts mailbox for the selected account to be used for sending the message.
If you have multiple accounts in Mail and you deleted the Drafts.mbox folder within the appropriate account named folder, the re-appearing messages must be coming from the account's Sent mailbox.
How many messages are available in this account's Sent mailbox and how often do you use the Rebuild Mailbox function on the Inbox and Sent mailbox for all accounts?

  • TS3899 How to restore email drafts folder on iPhone 5s

Im an idiot.  My email drafts folder disappeared one day. It contained 3 months of critical diary entries and I left them there for 3 months before I noticed the entire folder was gone.
It is an smtp.comcast.net account. I have not touched that email since in the hopes those draft emails are recoverable.
Might they be still on the iPhone 4s running OS 6.xx?  I havent upgraded for for fear of writing over whatever may still be there.
    Help?
    Thanks

    Same problem.
It's important to be able to set which IMAP folder is the Junk folder so that marking messages as Junk actually contributes to something. Otherwise you may as well just delete them.
If the Move to Junk option is used but it sends messages to a dumb folder called "Junk" rather than the mail server's designated Spam/Junk folder, then nothing is achieved.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1: messages still stuck in Drafts folder

    Hello!
The second question on Exchange 2013SP1 that I asked when I was working with Exchange 2013:
New lab setup: a Windows 2012R2 DC (server1) + Exchange 2013SP1 (server2). Exchange 2013SP1 installation completed successfully. I created three mailboxes: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
Now when I'm trying to send a message (from user1 to user, for example) it gets stuck in the Drafts folder.
I manually set up my DNS server in ECP:
as described here: http://thoughtsofanidlemind.com/2013/03/25/exchange-2013-dns-stuck-messages - but the problem persists.
    And this problem
"On every single installation / that I’ve done of Exch 2013 in multiple labs, when set as a single mailbox server, messages have never been able to leave the “drafts” folder. Not a single instance where it worked correctly. Messages
leaving a mailbox, destined to the exact same server do not route, let alone use any send-connector to leave the organization.
Now, take it to the next step, and install a second mailbox server. The very second that services finish installing, and AD replication (if using multiple sites) settles down, mail-flow on the first server starts working absolutely flawlessly. Whatever
changes are done to AD from the second mailbox server being installed in regards to mailflow, it completely resolves the issues of the first server holding onto the messages."
...is exactly the same as mine...but in Exchange 2013 SP1 ( Messages leaving a mailbox, destined to the exact same server do not route).
Can anybody from MS tell me if it's a bug or by design??? I've NEVER had an Exchange installation without this issue...
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    Hi,
I have never come across such a situation in my labs(all roles install in a single server), and there is no Microsoft documentation mentioned this issue.
In addition, Microsoft does not oppose the Exchange installed on a single server(although not recommend).
I recommend you check if all the exchange services are running, and try to restart Exchange Mailbox Transport Submission & Exchange Mailbox Assistants services.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

  • When is Draft folder Sent mail and when is it STUCK mail?

i am having problems with outgoing mail and adding to this i am having problems figuring out what has in fact been sent!
obviously if i have mail in a SENT folder it has presumably been sent and arrived.
however, if i have mail in a DRAFT folder does this mean it specifically has not been sent? i mean, i oftentimes find /partial/ drafts in my DRAFT folder and i am wondering if i need to look at the draft email to see if it is completed or partially (god only knows how reliable this will be) with the assumption that if it is PARTIALLY COMPLETED there may in fact be a completed version of it in the SENT folder? alternatively, do i have to somehow search the SENT folder to see if the email is there to see that it is not in fact stuck in the draft folder?
i just ran into FOUR emails that do not appear to have been sent to the person that i was sending to but since i think i hit SEND on all of them i cannot 1. figure out why they were in the DRAFT FOLDER but more importantly i 2. CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHICH MAIL IN THE DRAFT FOLDER IS BASICALLY stuck in the OUTBOX. and since there does not appear to be an outbox in Mail on my macs (as there is in Mail on my iPhone or in Sparrow on my iPhone iu basically have to ask a byzantine question like this to figure out an absolutely mission critical issue as to whether important business mail is basically stuck in mail on my mac and WHY i don't know about this and cannot figure it out either.
    bueller, bueller, bueller....

I know there is an issue in Mavericks Mail with messages being saved to Drafts that were actually sent, but am not sure if this also affects Mountain Lion Mail.
What is happening as you compose your message, Mail is saving the current version in Drafts. It's supposed to remove the Draft message after sending but in Mavericks Mail this is currently not working as expected. The workaround is to save your Drafts for IMAP accounts to the "On My Mac" Drafts Folder.
If you put Mail in offline mode then try to send you should see your Outbox.
Personally, I know I often start a message then before I complete I get a call and forget about the message only to find it later in the day hiding behind my Mail window.
You can eliminate Mail by testing in Postbox and MailMate. Both have demos.
    http://www.postbox-inc.com/  $9.95
    http://freron.com  $49.99
Setup in MailMate is super easy since it imports your account info from Mail. MailMate supports IMAP only.
Postbox has a nice interface and includes features like adding DropBox links in a message.

What to do if the screen is stuck on the draft screen? I was writing a mail, saved it as draft, then later, was able to send it. However, the screen did not revert to the inbox page. The draft page seems to be hung or stucked. Safari and all others are working ok though.

I sent the draft to myself several times. That did not seem to be working, but when I opened Mail this morning, it has been sent all of the times and the Mail screen is no longer frozen.

  • Email Drafts in Mavericks using Today and Yesterday

I have email DRAFTS folder set up so the most recent DATE Saved Draft is on top.  This was working perfectly until a couple weeks ago.
Today is 7/2/14. The DATE for a draft from yesterday should be "7/1/14" and instead it is listed as YESTERDAY.
A DRAFT from today should be 7/2/14 and instead it is listed as TODAY.
I have 50 drafts in DRAFTS (don't yell - it works for me).
I thought I was losing drafts and have been REDOING work that I thought was lost !!!
Drafts that Mavericks mail marks as TODAY and YESTERDAY, appear WAY DOWN in the my Chrono list - not at the TOP where they belong and where they used to be when they had REAL DATES and not word names: TODAY and YESTERDAY.
I now know the work is NOT lost and how to find it.  Can someone pls restore REAL Chrono Date Order to DRAFTS?  Thank you!!
PS: a similar issue is occurring in FINDER... where CHRONO is no longer CHRONO due to WORDS where DATES belong.

I used to export my old messages using a smart mailbox as my corporate account also has a size limitation.
Upgrading to Mail 7.0 broke exporting of smart mailboxes. I was using a workaround to archive the mail and then export the Archive mailbox instead which worked.
With the latest update to build 1822, archiving of Exchange messages appears broken as well. Smart mailbox exporting still broken too.
I modified my workaround as follows:
    1. Create a mailbox under "On My Mac" called Archive.
    2. Select all messages in my smart mailbox.
    3. Drag the messages to the On My Mac folder under Archive as created in step 1 above.
    4. Highlight the On My Mac Folder under Archive.
    5. Choose Mailbox, then Export Mailbox and browse to a folder where you want the mbox file created and choose the folder.
Next time you just follow steps 2 through 5 of course.
Seems like the long way around to me and I'm annoyed that I have to keep changing my workaround as Apple breaks features in their mail program.
    Hope this helps.

  • Submit Form Via Webmail Is Not Creating Email In Drafts Folder

Bottom Line Up Front: PDF's Submit via Email (Webmail) is not creating the email in the Webmail account.
    What I am using:
    =============
    * Adobe Acrobat Pro XI; however, I have a lot of users using Adobe Reader.
    * Yahoo! email
What I am trying to do:
    ==================
Send the data from a completed pdf to an email address via webmail.
    What Works:
    ===========
Using the default application - Microsoft Outlook, the form's data is placed into an XML attachment and an email is created for review and transmission.
    What Isn't Working:
    ===============
Sending the same form via the Webmail feature. Acrobat first provided the Yahoo account name and password handshake screen, and then I authorized Acrobat to use my Yahoo account. The form provided a status bar that indicated the email was being created and the attachment being added to the email; however, no email was ever created (and placed in my draft folder) and no email was sent (checked there too.)
    What I've Confirmed:
    ================
I've gone to my Yahoo account's "Manage Apps and Website Connections" and confirmed that Acrobat is permitted to create emails (among other things). I've tested the non-webmail (default) email. I've confirmed in my Acrobat Pro XI preferences that the email account is there.
    All help is greatly appreciated.

Yes. However, if I receive that 500th back I have violated the License. Though I believe you need to go back and read it again It seems to say you can only send out 500 copies.
Either way would be breaking the intent of the license agreement.
WE have fought hard just to get this little change made (for benefit of very small Business or even non-profits). So we don't want to cause Adobe to pull this out of the next version because of misuse.

  • Where is my Draft folder in email?

When I'm working on an email and I minimize it before sending, it disappears. I do not have a "Drafts" folder showing either.
    Many thanks.

"Tip: Press Command-S (⌘-S) to save the message in your draft mailbox. You can then close it and open it later to edit further or send. Note: If you are in full-screen mode, click the "Cancel" button and you will see a Save sheet appear to save your draft."
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5361
Once you save the draft by pressing command + S,  draft folder/ Mailbox  will appear.
    Best.

  • Where do the photo email drafts disappear when the screen locks?

This is getting very frustrating as it happens quite frequently.  I select some photos to email to someone, and then spend a lot of time writing the email.  Then I pause to do something else or get distracted, and the screen lock comes on.  Then when I unlock the screen, my email draft is gone!  It is not in the drafts folder.  It is not in sent items.  It just vanishes.  Then I have to re-type it from the beginning.  Major design flaw in iOS or am I missing something obvious?

    Interesting, no one knows.

  • Drafts folder for Conversations screen in messagin...

    I have an E7 with Symbian^3 with a pre-Anna update of 14.002.
I've noticed that when you are using the conversations screen in the messaging application, if you are typing a message and then your finger inadvertently hits the 'back button' (which I find quite easy on the E7), that everything you typed is wiped out.  No drafts folder seems to exist for conversations.
Is this the standard behavior?  Is there some option to at least save what you had typed out to the Drafts folder in the messaging application?  It would certainly be nice to have the functionality I'm talking about.

It was recommended in another thread that you uncheck the "Store draft messages on server" option (it's in the Mailbox Behaviors pane of the Accounts preference in Mail). I have the same problem and have just tried that change, though it's too soon to know if that's fixed it. My suspicion is that if the IMAP server is sluggish, the draft email is being saved but not cleared quickly enough and so it appears in the Drafts folder.
    Hope this helps.

  • Email's staying in 'Drafts' folder in OWA (Exchange 2013)

    Hi Guys,
I have am setting up a new Exchange 2013 Server. The server is hosting both Mailbox and Transport Roles. When I try and send emails from OWA they are placed in the 'Drafts' folder and never leave the server.

    Hi,
Did you install CAS role in your company?
Please check if all the Exchange services on the server have started via Test-Servicehealth. Especially Exchange Transport service and Mailbox transport service.
In addition, I recommend you refer to the following article to check if the receive connector was configured correctly:
How to Configure a Relay Connector in Exchange Server 2013
This article demonstrates how to meet the following two requirements in Exchange Server 2013
Internal SMTP relay – the ability to make an SMTP connection to an Exchange 2013 server and send email to recipients that are internal to the organization
(for example, a “scan to email” feature on a multi-function print device)
External SMTP relay – the ability to make an SMTP connection to an Exchange 2013 server and send email to recipients that are outside the organization (for example, applications or hardware that sends automated reports or alerts to external
    vendors or consultants)

  • Sent emails and draft folder

    Dear sir/Madam,
Sent emails are being saved in my draft folder.
Everytime i send an email, the same is being saved in the draft folder.
Its very annoying : ( . Please help?
    Thank you,
    Mohaned

I have about one or two drafts per month that are "stuck" in the folder and must be deleted manually, and I'm on 10Mbit/s and pretty stable, but the mail server is playing its own role as well. Sometimes it just happens.
BTW, under Mailbox Behaviors in the account's preferences in Mail, make sure that "Store draft messages on the server" is unchecked. It seems to me that when it's enabled, the "delete" command in case of a new draft version or once sent makes it even less often through, eventually leading to a few more drafts remaining there - at least with my server. Could be just my "notion" but if it's okay with you to have drafts only locally and not e.g. synced with other devices or "backed up" on the server, then it won't hurt.
