Screen Light Off on the top?

Since few weeks ago the light of the screen (on the top) was kind of blinking at the startup in the morning, but after some minutes it came back to normal. And now, after beeing on sleeping mode for few hours, the top of the screen is quite dark as if the light on the top went off. So now I have a light degradé from light-bottom to dark-top. Is there anything I can do?
I work all day with it for photography...

Video capture screen cut off at the top

I am waiting for my new elements 9 to show up on the licensing page, and perhaps this will solve the problem I am having in version 3 (I know, but like I said I am upgrading!) but I would like to import some video from tape and I have a problem I have never seen before. When I open the video capture page all is well except the top menu portion is cut off which presents a huge problem since the button to go back to the main page when import is complete is not there. The only way out is good old alt-cntl-del to close the whole program. Does anybody know how to fit the screen so everything shows? All my other applications fit perfectly. Its been getting bigger and bigger for the last week but until now I had the very bottom of the icon to click on. Cant wait for 9, not sure why it takes so much time to make it available for download and licensing...

Quicktime regularly updates so I assume I have the latest. I do have 3.02 and I just called up the program to get the version I am running and I see the problem has gone away. I now see the whole screen and am able to grab the edges and adjust the size, go figure... I am still waiting for my version 9, I expect this problem will not show up again once I update. Try force closing the Camera app, followed by resetting your phone. Double=tap the home button, locate Camera in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button. Now reset your phone by holding the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

If you don't have an iPhone, grab the browser handle and drag it to the left to reduce the width to see how it responds to mobile devices' fixed width browsers .
This will play in all modern browsers and on mobile devices. You can use QuickTime Pro for the OGG or OGV conversion or get the freeware Miro Video Converter...

Light sizzle in the top left of the keyboard in MBA 13" 2010

Hello,
My new MBA 13" (4Go, 1,86Ghz, 128Go) make a very light sizzle in the top left of the keyboard. I think this is the fan's noise because the sizzle stops when I turn off the computer and it starts again when I turn it on.
Do you hear the same noise in your MBA ? When I work in silence, it is quite disturbing...

No, it won't be different to return it. You could go to genius bar at a store and let them listen. But likely they won't be able to hear it. I don't know if anyone ever positively identified the source of the sound. I remember one speculation was that it was related to frequency stepping done by the CPU to reduce power. This post takes about one person's experiences with the sound. The early Intel MBP also would make a very faint "moo" sound just before a fan would kick on. That was even more strange.

Why does Large text in a Form get cut off at the top when I save it as a PDF

Hi. I've created a form in Acrobat with 2 text fields. I set the size to 40pt and 30pts using Helvetica. When I fill out the form and save-as a PDF the text displays as cut off at the top.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Making the text fields MUCH larger than the font.
Changing fonts. I've tried Helvetica, Verdana, Arial
Selecting Multi-line
Does anyone know how I can keep it from cutting off? The only solution I've been able to find thus far is reducing the font size significantly, which is not an option.

I'm using Acrbat Pro version 10.1.4
The text looks perfect in Acrobat. I'm choosing File > Save As from Acrobat and then when I open it with Preview or Reader it cut's off the text.

Mail fonts cut off at the top.

Suddenly when I'm typing a new mail message, some of the fonts are cut off at the top. Usually capital letters, e.g. "C" you can't see the top of the curve of the letter. Also, when you hit the return, a number of faded dots are in the interval spacing, looking like a bad ribbon on an old typewriter. When I send the message, it appears okay to the receiver, and the copy in my sent folder looks normal. Any suggestions? I've tried changing fonts and sizes without much luck.

I suggest that you try unchecking both of the crop options - landscape & portrait.
To re-create your situation, I had to check the crop for landscape pictures option.
I prefer to have control over any cropping so I tend to crop each image first before creating the slide show.

How do I turn off the automatic full screen feature that makes the top bar (with the minimize buttons) disappear?

I just downloaded Firefox 4 on a Dell laptop with WinXP. When I'm in a browser window the window resizes automatically and the bar at the top (with the minimize, full and close buttons) disappears. When I drag the cursor up to the top the window resizes again and that top bar appears. Makes me crazy. How do I turn it off?

I'm not aware of the behavior you're describing. I've never seen it, and just tested it for myself. I cannot get windows to zoom to full screen just from moving them to or along the top of the screen. Is this only happening in Photoshop? If so, it may be a Photoshop issue. If not, have you installed any kind of third-party software that might be doing that? Try rebooting in safe mode and see if the problem persists then. If it doesn't, but comes back when you reboot normally, the problem is caused by some third-party software you have installed.
