Screen light on itouch doesnt turn off

So the screen light on my itouch won't turn off when its not in use, and so drains the battery! what have i done to it?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

There is a problem: when I turn on my PowerBook G3 Pismo, the backlight lamp lights up for approximately 2 seconds and then turns off. Powerbook continues to starts up and loads MacOS 9 normally BUT WITH BACKLIGHT OFF! The LCD panel 100% works because I can see operating system interface on it when I light up it by table lamp
I've checked all connection cables – one on right side on inverter board WAS BROKEN (it become broken after many times of open/close display), I've fixed it, cover it in heat-shrink tube very accurately, but problem not solved....

Since you know your way around the Pismo, I would next try replacing the inverter board and/or inverter cable.
Since you mentioned repairing the inverter cable, are you sure the inverter cable is still not the issue, especially where it passes through the clutch (hinge)?
The inverter converts the low-voltage DC to high-voltage AC to power the fluorescent backlight; it could be opening a circuit as it quickly heats up.
The inverter is very inexpensive and very easy to replace. I have not priced the cable but it will be a more extensive repair.

My mac book air doesnt turn off if i click on shut down . it is not sleeping either. if i put the screen down it keeps turning on and the apple logo keeps blinking. it only turns off if i press the power button for few seconds . Please help. Another thing is condensation . i opened my mac 2 days ago there was water on keys and on the screen I guess extremes of temperature caused moisture to develop. What seems to be the issue with its turning off and sleeping. Thank God the water didnt short circuit it. Its still working but just not sleeping or shutting down normally. Please help needed. I love my MAC and cant afford to loose it ! HELP !!

It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.

My 4th gen ipod touch has crashed, just displaying a dark blue screen. It won't turn off or do anything. Connecting it to the laptop does nothing either. Is this common and any ideas??

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Who repaired the phone? I suggest taking it back to this repair facility. Since Apple replaces phones instead of repair, the repair facility would be the one to take care of your problem.

I can see face time invites appearing on the screen and messages, even the alarm has come on this morning but the screen touch has gone and the sleep button only makes the screen request you 'slide to turn off' but then after plenty of time, the screen it's stuck on comes back - it wont bring the apple icon up.

imac screen image size fluctuates then turns off. I have an Imac G3 (slot drive/Grape). It is running on OS 9.2 and I believe has 288 MB Ram.It started acting very odd yesterday. First, I noticed that the image on the screen had shrunken in on the sides and was elongated up and down. I restarted and when it came up the image still wasn't right, but it wasn't as out of proportion. I ran norton and first aid which both said everything was fine. By this time the image had stretched out to its normal size. I printed a couple of things and shut it down. This morning I started it up to have a look and the image was all shrunken and stretched again. The image started pulsating then the mac shut off. A few minutes later it started up again on its own so I turned it off. Until yesterday my Mac had been working just fine. Any ideas about what this is or what to do about it? Thanks for the help.

The fact that it is starting up on its own either means that it is scheduled to, or that there is some problem with the power supply, which as far as I can tell, would cause the monitor to do that.
